Indian death metal veterans DEMONIC RESURRECTION have announced their UK tour dates. The band made their last UK appearance at the Bloodstock Festival in 2012 and are following up their appearance at Scottish Festival Les-Fest on 27th June 2014 with a string of dates in the UK with progressive deathsters DE PROFUNDIS. The tour has been organized by the Nazgul Agency.
Commented frontman Demonstealer “This tour has been a long time coming for us. We had planned a similar tour in 2011 when we got booked for Sonisphere Festival but due to visa issues it never happened. When we came for Bloodstock in 2012 we were unable to materialize anything more than an additional show in London but this time we’ve managed to get a decent number of shows and we’re really looking forward to playing for the UK metal fans.”
The band’s tour coincides with the release of their 4th full length album ‘The Demon King’ that is due for release on 14th July in the UK via Candlelight Records.
London based Progressive Death Metallers DE PROFUNDIS are back to announce Bloodstock Appearance and two new studio releases for 2014.
After supporting the mighty Iron Maiden in 2009 and playing as co-headliners with Lacuna Coil to 30,000 people at the Kingfisher Octoberfest in 2010, DE PROFUNDIS have been busy over the past few years touring relentlessly and planning their new studio releases.
6 years after their first Bloodstock appearance in 2008, DE PROFUNDIS descend upon the Sophie Lancaster stage determined to prove that they are a force within UK’s Extreme Metal scene that cannot and will not be ignored. The band will play Bloodstock on Friday August 8th.
Self-releasing their full-length debut “Beyond Redemption” to critical acclaim in 2007, the band wasted no time in making themselves known as a live experience to be reckoned with. With the bands second release ‘A Bleak Reflection’ (2009) and third album The Emptiness Within (2012) the band developed a sound which was colossal in scope and far more progressive in nature than ‘Beyond Redemption’.
2014 sees the band working hard in the studio and on the live stage. Along with the announcement of the BOA appearance, DE PROFUNDIS are now ready to begin recording their next 2 releases: a 4 track EP to be released very soon, followed by the bands fourth full length album in the near future, both of whose titles are yet to be announced. A tour to support the new releases will be announced towards the end of the year.
The new “teaser” EP release will be distributed, in part, by Terrorizer magazine, one of the UK’s biggest Metal and Thrash publications. This will feature in the July 2014 edition of Terrorizer. The band decided to record and release the EP to get the fans excited and ready for the following studio album released later in the year. With these two new releases, DE PROFUNDIS continue to evolve, the new material being the most scathingly aggressive yet intricate and refined music they have ever written.
More news on the upcoming EP will be released soon.
The organisers of UK festival Bloodstock have made band further announcements for this year:
With BLOODSTOCK just twenty weeks away, there’s still plenty to announce as yet more bands rack up for this year’s event at Catton Park! There’s no such thing as too much metal, with even more riffs coming your way on both the Ronnie James Dio main stage and the big top Sophie Lancaster stage.
Norse black metal standard-bearers, DIMMU BORGIR are set to be Friday’s main stage special guest and will be playing their only UK show in 2014 at BLOODSTOCK. The band are hard at work on new material planned for release later this year. Maybe they’ll even showcase something new at Catton Park! Comments Shagrath: “We are excited for our return to Bloodstock 2014, the one and only UK festival we do this year. It will be a special event for sure, without revealing too much, but a 20th anniversary show will not go unnoticed. Await the return of symphonic darkness.” Check out their majestic video for ‘Gateways’ from last album, ‘Abrahadabra’ can be viewed on the Youtube video below :
BLOODSTOCK are also pleased to reveal an extra special ‘late night’ performance from Texas groove metal kings, HELLYEAH. The band will be taking the roof off the Sophie big top stage late on Saturday, performing after the stage headliners, SISTER SIN. The band’s legendary drummer, Vinnie Paul comments; “BLOODSTOCK is one of the best festivals to play anywhere in the world!! HELLYEAH is very excited to be a part of it again! Get your game face on and let’s rip this one up! Cheers!! I’m Vinnie Paul and I approve this message!!”
Grabbing an opening slot on Friday’s main stage are homegrown extreme metal outfit, BLOODSHOT DAWN. Former winners of BLOODSTOCK’s ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ programme in 2009, the four piece have been playing dates with Wintersun, had a slot at UK Techfest, and are currently writing their second album. They intend to debut some new tracks at Catton Park especially for the BOA faithful. Check out their video for ‘Godless’ here and get a taster of what they’re about on the Youtube video below :
Fellow Brits DE PROFUNDIS bring their twist on progressive death metal to Friday’s Sophie Stage. The band exclaim, “Back in 2008, BLOODSTOCK was a springboard for DE PROFUNDIS career. Now six years later with our forthcoming EP and album we are looking to cement our name in the UK metal scene with an explosive performance!” The band enter their studio in London shortly to record the follow-up to ‘The Emptiness Within’. Also up on Friday’s Sophie Stage are London extreme metal crew AGHAST!, commenting, “We are honoured to be given the opportunity to play the Sophie stage with our heroes at the UK’s biggest and ‘truest’ independent metal festival. To say that we’re excited is an understatement! See you in the beer tent.” Formed after a drinking competition at Wacken, and with all the real ales on offer at BLOODSTOCK, let’s hope they make it to the stage! According to Bravewords.com, UK progressive death metallers DE PROFUNDIS have parted ways with guitarist Roman Subbotin.
Vocalist Craig Land comments on the split: ”It was a very tough decision, but it had to be made due to a conflict of priorities. The band thanks him for his immense contribution over the years, and wishes him all the best for his future endeavours.”
A replacement is yet to be named, but De Profundis will honour all their forthcoming shows, with Paul Nazarkardeh (PHYREXIA, ex-CARPATHIA) stepping in, and will continue to work on their fourth album, tentatively due out early in 2014.
