FIREWIND: Working On Live Album Release; Next Bunch Of European Festivals Confirmed; To Embark On US Tour Next Month With TURISAS

Century Media has issued that the melodic Metallers FIREWIND have successfully wrapped up the calendar year 2012 with 4 packed club-shows in their native Greece (Two nights in Thessaloniki and 2 nights in Athens), commencing the celebration of the band’s 10th Anniversary of existence. Additionally, and right before the end of the year festivities, FIREWIND also entered studios in order to mix recordings from their “Few Against Many” live-campaign last year for an upcoming live-album, scheduled to be released before the summer of 2013. Firewind2012

Expanding FIREWIND‘s live agenda for 2013, the band is next headed out on a North American tour with Turisas and Stolen Babies and has most recently also confirmed appearances at this year’s editions of Summer Breeze festival (Germany), PPM Fest (Belgium) and Rock In Den Ruinen festival (Germany). FIREWIND’s current album, “Few Against Many”, was mixed by Jason Suecof & Eyal Levi at Audiohammer Studios (Trivium, All That Remains, Death Angel, etc.) and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Mastodon, Hatebreed, Symphony X, etc.). The iconic album’s artwork was once again created by FIREWIND’s longtime partner in all design matters, Gustavo Sazes / http://www.abstrata.net (Arch Enemy, Angra, Dream Evil, etc.). While the album’s standard version is available in the CD format as well as LP and also as Digital Download, “Few Against Many” is also released as limited edition Digipak CD with two bonus tracks. “Few Against Many” has recently climbed up the national sales charts in Greece to occupy the # 1 top spot for several weeks!

FIREWIND‘s new album “Few Against Many”, entered the official chart in Greece at No. 42 and in Germany at No. 90. Released in Europe on May 21 via Century Media Records and in North America on May 22 through DisManic, Inc. via eOne Distribution, the CD was mixed by Jason Suecof and Eyal Levi at Audiohammer Studios (TRIVIUM, ALL THAT REMAINS, DEATH ANGEL) in Sanford, Florida.

Produced by Gus, “Few Against Many” was recorded with his longtime bandmates, vocalist Apollo Papathanasio, keyboardist/guitarist Bob Katsionis and bassist Petros Christo, at Valve Studio in Greece as well as the Sweetspot Studios in Sweden and sees the band expanding on its signature melodic sound with some of its most aggressive songs to date. The CD also marks the recording debut of new FIREWIND drummer Johan Nunez (NIGHTRAGE).

FIREWIND: ‘Edge Of A Dream’ Video Released

“Edge Of A Dream”, the new video from Greek melodic metallers FIREWIND, can be seen below. According to the band, the song — which features a guest appearances by Finnish cello superstars APOCALYPTICA — “brings the classy feel of metal ballads back into a modern spotlight.”

Comments FIREWIND guitarist Gus G.: “We shot the video earlier this year in Greece. You can see the beautiful landscapes we caught on film and I assure you that Petros [Christo, FIREWIND bassist] and Jo [Nunez, drums] didn’t hold it against us for not appearing in the clip! Actually, the clip was directed by our band member Bob Katsionis [keyboards, guitar], who is also an acclaimed video director. He directed the clip for ‘Head Up High’ back in 2008 among others. I think he has done an excellent job once again! Enjoy!”

“Edge Of A Dream” comes off FIREWIND‘s latest album, “Few Against Many”, which sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 28 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Firewind – Few Against Many Album Enters Album Charts In Several Countries

“Few Against Many”, the new album by Greek melodic Metallers FIREWIND, lead by guitar wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band-member Gus G., is encountering great acclaim and also hitting several charts after its release last week all over Europe via Century Media Records.

“Few Against Many” entered the official sales charts in Germany, as a first-ever for FIREWIND, at position # 90! Congratulations…

Commented Gus: “We wanted to do a different video this time, instead of the usual indoor studio shootings. So we figured we’d show the band in its comfort zone — on stage. The clip was shot on our most recent shows in Greece this past January and you can witness the mayhem that goes down when we play in our home country! Enjoy!”
