In anticipation of the shows, Nuclear Blast decided to put guitarist Andy Sneap through his paces by making him do the IKEA OR DEATH quiz, on camera. Watch the hilarious results over on YouTube, below:

Rich Davenport’s Rock Show this week features interviews with Biff Byford (Saxon), Andy Sneap (Hell), Andre Olbrich (Blind Guardian), Jack Blades (Revolution Saints, Night Ranger, ex Damn Yankees) and Michael Cartellone (Lynyrd Skynyrd, ex Damn Yankees) and is available now for streaming below:
First up, Biff from Saxon talks about drummer Nigel Glockler’s ongoing recovery following his recent health scare, and what fans can expect from the band’s rescheduled tour dates. Biff also gives an update on the band’s new album, and gives the lowdown on some forthcoming expanded re-releases of DVDs and CD.
The show also features guitarist/producer Andy Sneap, who’s not only touring as part of Saxon’s support band Hell, but also producing Biff & co’s new album. Andy also talks about Hell’s return in the last few years, his work behind the desk with bands like Accept, and also responds to the idea held by some elements of Metallica’s fanbase that he’d be the ideal candidate to produce them.
Blind Guardian guitarist Andre Olbrich talks about the writing and recording of the band’s forthcoming new album “Beyond The Red Mirror”, with a song from the new release.
In the second hour of the show, Night Ranger frontman Jack Blades discusses his new role as bassist and co-vocalist in Revolution Saints, a supergroup in which Blades is joined by guitarist Doug Aldrich (Ex Dio, Whitesnake) and Journey drummer / vocalist Deen Castronovo. Jack talks about the recording of the album, his hopes for the future of the project, and the album’s guest appearances from Castonovo’s bandmates Neal Schon and Arnel Pineda. Blades also gives an update on happenings in the Night Ranger camp.
And finally, Jack Blades’ former Damn Yankees compadre Michael Cartellone, now with Lynyrd Skynyrd, shares his memories of that band’s formation, and the recording of their first album, recently reissued in remastered form by Rock Candy Records. Michael also talks about his second career as a painter (his artwork has been exhibited at galleries across the US, see http://www.michaelcartellone.com), and his current role as Lynyrd Skynyrd’s drummer. Michael selects 3 songs from the Damn Yankees debut, and a pair of his favourite Skynyrd tracks.

Having disbanded in 1987, HELL reformed in 2011 with a fresh line-up and renewed enthusiasm. It’s almost a year now since the band released their sophomore album “Curse & Chapter” and the guys are about to hit the road with the legendary SAXON.
World renowned guitarist and producer, Mr Andy Sneap shares his delight regarding the tour:
“It’s a great honour to announce that HELL will be main support to the mighty Saxon on their UK run of dates throughout December. Having recently worked with the guys on Sacrifice, Unplugged and Strung Up and St Georges Day – Live in Manchester, we have often talked about the chance of both bands playing together. I think I can safely say that Saxon played a huge part in all our musical upbringing, I personally first saw them back in 83 on The Eagle Has Landed tour so, to now get the chance to go out around the UK as special guests is absolutely fantastic and a great chance to bring the theatrics of our latest album Curse and Chapter into the live domain.”

English metallers HELL have announced via their official Facebook page that they have had to cancel their upcoming headlining appearance at this weekend’s Rommelrock Festival in Belgium:
“We are very sorry to inform our fans in Belgium and Holland that we shall not be appearing as headliners at Rommelrock this Saturday August 16th. The promoters have had numerous problems with local government who have effectively banned the event from going ahead. Whist this is obviously totally outside our control, we would like to express our apologies to all fans who were looking forward to the full mental Hell headline experience. Another time maybe …. \m/”
As previously announced the band will be performing a special mainstage show at next year’s Hammerfest VII, which takes place in Wales from 12th-15th March 2015.
