Norway’s HELLISH OUTCAST are releasing their upcoming album ‘Stay of Execution’ on Listenable this October.

New album «Stay of Execution» was recorded in the late Grieghallen Studios in Bergen and Russells’ Parlour Studios in the UK (Napalm Death, Evile, Dimmu Borgir), and can proudly compete with a sound of their own that is bigger, and more elaborate.  Musicwise, the arrangements tend to get more progressive flavor while still retaining an absolute intensity. The band is anxious to march forward with what might become a shockingly fresh contribution to the scene.

Norway’s HELLISH OUTCAST are releasing their upcoming album ‘Stay of Execution’ on Listenable this October.

New album «Stay of Execution» was recorded in the late Grieghallen Studios in Bergen and Russells’ Parlour Studios in the UK (Napalm Death, Evile, Dimmu Borgir), and can proudly compete with a sound of their own that is bigger, and more elaborate.  Musicwise, the arrangements tend to get more progressive flavor while still retaining an absolute intensity. The band is anxious to march forward with what might become a shockingly fresh contribution to the scene.

Drummer Mads Lilletvedt comments : “Under the working title ‘Stay of Execution’,  we have been working immensely on the songs for our next album. This has resulted in ten tracks inspired by the desperation and anxiety growing in any human being given the death sentence – awaiting fulfillment of the penalty. Our approach to the music this time was to capture more of the defining aggression found in a typical Hellish Outcast song. We also wanted to explore with more harmonics and melodies, incorporating it with the face chopping riffs.”

The line-up alone should prove the groove and hard-hitting, shredding epicness of this ghoul four-piece consisting of Thebon (x-Keep of Kalessin), Alkolust (x-BYFROST), Max Morbid (x-BREED) and Martin Legreid (66 Crusher).

A brand new extreme metal festival is set to take place in Bergen, Norway from February 20th-22nd.

With a deep and rich tradition of metal, both as host of the infamous Hole In The Sky festival and the great newcomer Beyond The Gates Festival, it is also the hometown of many great and famous bands from the dearly beloved dark side of metal. The festival will be held in the darkest time of the year. Cold winds and snow will lay the perfect scene for the atmosphere we want to create.

Surrounded by the seven famous mountains, the main venue, USF Verftet, is based right at the dock by the city fjord, and second venue, Garage, is in the heart of town. Bergen is the second biggest city in Norway and counts 250,000 habitants. With a rich cultural tradition alongside the beautiful nature, Blastfest will also have a focus towards the town of Bergen and its history. The promoters want you to see what the town really is. In cooperation with the Viking community and cultural institutions of Bergen they want to bring you a unique experience combining your passion for metal music with nature, history and of course, the Vikings. This may be an indoor festival, but that does not mean they cannot use the whole city as our festival ground.

Death Metallers HELLISH OUTCAST Debut Tracks From Forthcoming Album

HELLISH OUTCAST has debuted two tracks from the band’s upcoming album “Your God Will Bleed”.  A follow up to the controversial EP “Raping – Killing – Murder”, “Your God Will Bleed” will be  HELLISH OUTCAST’s debut full length album, and the first release to feature the band’s new vocalist Thebon (KEEP OF KALESSIN), who joined the band in 2010. A label is currently being sought for the release of “Your God Will Bleed”, and the two debut tracks, “The View So Disgusting” and “Hubris” can be heard on the band’s MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/hellishoutcast. 

Formed in Bergen, Norway, in 2001 by drummer Mads Lilletvedt (BYFROST, SOLSTORM), guitarist Martin Legreid (66CRUSHER) and bassist Mads Mowinckel (BREED), HELLISH OUTCAST play a blood soaked mix of Thrash and Death Metal, and are seen as one of the most aggressive live bands on the burgeoning Bergen music scene.  The arrival of Thebon to front the band has given HELLISH OUTCAST a keener edge, and whilst fans in Norway have already been able to see him in action on stage, the chance for fans elsewhere will come this summer, when the band is due to play at Lithuania’s Devilstone Festival on the 15th July, and the UK’s Bloodstock Festival on the 14th August.
