Australian purveyors of metal core, I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN are back and stronger than ever! With their new single ‘Bright Enough’ taken from their most recent album ‘‘Beloved’’ on Epitaph Records, they will return to the UK for a run of live dates in May.

‘Beloved’ is the first new album from I Killed The Prom Queen in 6 years and they are primed for their re-launch of epic proportions. The album has received rave reviews from renowned rock press. Kerrang called it a “glorious record”, stating that with ‘Beloved’, the band has “proved metalcore is still worth getting excited about”. Metal Hammer added that “IKTPQ have come back frighteningly strong”, saying that this album contains “some of the most scorching, Sweden indebted metalcore anthems you’re likely to hear in 2014”.

Since forming in Adelaide, Australia in 2000, IKTPQ have maintained a standard of excellence that has placed them head and shoulders above the pack. Hitting their peak around 2006 with the release of their sophomore effort, ‘Music For The Recently Deceased’, the five-piece garnered local chart success and built a loyal worldwide following. However in 2008, mounting pressure and internal strife led to their premature demise.

For several years the band lay dormant, as members went on to play in other bands. In 2011, IKTPQ reclaimed their sound, style, history, and legacy with an all new line up, and original member Jona Weinhofen who spent time with Bleeding Through and Bring Me The Horizon.

IKTPQ entered the studio in 2013 in Gothenburg, Sweden with Fredrik Nordström (Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, In Flames, Dimmu Brogir, Architects UK) to record Beloved, their much-anticipated third album.

Having overcome so much adversity during their 13-year existence, I Killed The Prom Queen have a fresh lease on life and a newfound desire to leave an indelible mark on the world stage. Look out, planet.

Graspop Metal Meeting is proud to announce TWISTED SISTER’s long overdue GMM debut!

Founded back in 1972 by guitarist Jay Jay French, it still took Twisted Sister ten years to release their debut album Under the Blade. After years of pottering about, the American quintet decided to change musical directions and thanks to an inventive mix of traditional heavy metal, pure rock ‘n’ roll and a pinch of early seventies glam rock, Twisted Sister’s popularity began to soar. Energy bomb Dee Snider joined in 1976 and he clearly brought more to the mix than just the big hair. Taking over as the band’s songsmith, Snider authored the hit singles We’re Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock off the 1984 Stay Hungry album, two rock anthems that catapulted Twisted Sister into international fame. In 1987, the band called it quits after just four albums, only to reform ten years later. Their last studio album Still Hungry was released in 2004, but more than anything else Twisted Sister are known for their energetic live shows, making The Iron Men of Rock and Roll’ one of the most exciting bands in metal history.
