Interview with VADER: “This is real life, and it’s sometimes more scary than fairytales…”

Polish death metallers, VADER, are very few bands that have managed to weave a web of mystery around them. Very few have survived and kept going strong until today. Theirs is the cult of musical brutality and the urge to succeed. Few may remember that VADER were the first band ever from behind “the Iron Curtain” to sign to a Western label while their 1990 demo “Morbid Reich” is still considered to be the best selling demo tape in the history of death metal. Only a few days ago was released their 9th studio album “Welcome to the Morbid Reich” via Nuclear Blast… I had a chance to talked about it, among many other things, with Piotr “Peter” Wiwczarek, please join our conversation…

Hi Peter, welcome to Metal Shock Finland! How’s your day been so far?

Thanks Tarja, I’m fine! and as we’ve started the promotion, so I’m sitting here at home, doing some mailers and interviews by phone, as now with you 🙂 …so we have a little break in performances, we’ll have some festivals next week, then on august we’ll start to do also other shows besides the festivals. But everything will start after the album comes out, in Europe 12th of August.

Interview with HUMAN SCULPTURE: “Our World/Torn Down- album is about the future of earth and mankind”

HUMAN SCULPTURE is death metal band from Järvenpää, Finland. They just released a mini album named Our World /Torn Down on 5th of August 2011. We got a change to interview the guys and ask how’s the future looking for them!

1.Tell us about your band please?

Human Sculpture was formed in the spring of 2010 in Helsinki, and we have been active since August 2010. We felt the Finnish metal scene, while having a lot of oldschool death&thrash bands, was lacking the more modern kind of music in the death department, so we were aiming to fill the gap.

                                                                            
2.How has your summer gone?

– It’s been good, thanks for asking, although quite busy. In June we were figuring out which studio we should go to for the recording of Our World / Torn Down, and it took a lot of time and hard detective work. We had to think carefully because of the costs of the studio sessions vary so radically, not to mention the quality of the recording. We ended up going to D-Studio in Klaukkala, and so far it seems we made the right choice. After the recording, we’ve been writing more songs and practicing for gigs.

Interview with CORRODED: “Exit To Transfer” heading towards worldwide Battlefields

Swedish heavy rockers CORRODED was formed 2004 and quickly went from unknown to household in their native country, when national TV station TV4 handpicked their debut-single “Time and Again” to accompany the promotion of their blockbuster show “Expedition Robinson” internationally known as “Survivor”. CORRODED‘s second album “Exit To Transfer” came out on last October, via Ninetone Records…  Some days ago I had a change to interview Jens Westin (singer and lead guitar) and Peter Sjödin (Guitar), and this what they told me…

 Hi Jens and Peter, I’m Tarja. Welcome to Metal Shock Finland! what was your first thought of this morning?

J: I think that speak for the whole band when I say, we really need a shower (no showers at the venue yesterday).

What makes you so corroded? what is the story behind your band name?

P: We are all old farts 🙂 and all metal eventually goes corroded in the end.

Interview with AVENIE: “Were not holding back anymore, we’re unleashing our skills and raising the middle finger to caution!”

AVENIE is a Melodic Death metal band from Tampere, Finland. After doing some line-up changes, they are now working on their second album and we’re eager to hear how it’s going! We got a chance to interview Avenie’s guitarist Matti Auerkallio.

1.First things first. Tell us about your summer?

Well, as far as Avenie is concerned, we’ve been pretty calm on the surface. Underneath, we spent some time getting the new guys into shape so we wouldn’t completely embarrace ourselves in the Sauna Open Air afterparty gig we did. We also immediately dug into the new material, I see no point in learning all the old songs after changes like these within the band.
