Roadrunner have asked a bunch of their artists to fill out a brief survey telling us the highlights (and lowlights) of their year. Here’s what Airbourne frontman Joel O’Keeffe had to say:
Best show you played: After two years of touring during 2010 and 2011, 2012 was spent writing and rockin’ for an upcoming release due in 2013 which will see us on the road once again.
Best show you saw: Rose Tattoo at the Espy in St. Kilda, Melbourne, Australia. It was one of those shows where everyone in the crowd and the band rocked as one, the whole band was on fire and Angry [Anderson, singer] was unstoppable, powerful and commanding.
Favorite thing you ate/drank: Australian KFC; someone should seriously export it, everyone that has it always says, why doesn’t our KFC do this? El Pollo Loco was great too! Favourite drink will be VB (Victoria Bitter) as it’s just gone back to normal full strength, looking forward to that ice cold “For a Hard Earned Thirst the Best Cold Beer is Vic” when I get home.
Favorite song of 2012: The Rolling Stones, “Doom and Gloom.”
Most interesting interview question you were asked this year: If I was an asteroid, would I let the world live…or would I blow it apart?
Place you visited for the first time: A bar somewhere off Ventura Blvd. [in Los Angeles]; don’t know how I got there or how I got home but I remember they wanted to kill me for messing up their pool table.
Biggest celebrity you met: Bruce Howes; he’s a real life shape-shifting ninja, watch ya’ back, he’ll get ya!
Moment you wish you could “do over”: “Her”
Personal highlight of the year: Driving 4,800 kilometres for a guitar – a 1970 Gibson SG.
