SKELETOON‘s upcoming album, “They Never Say Die”, based on “The Goonies” movie, will be the band’s Third Studio Album, and it’s already completely written and set to be released tentatively in 2019, via Revalve Records.

Jonne Järvelä, the driving force of the internationally successful folk metal band KORPIKLAANI, released his debut solo album Jonne on 2014. The stripped and rawer interpretation of shamanistic folk music attracted great attention and gained a lot of supporters all around the world. Although it started out as a solo project, Jonne has now become a fully active live band with 10 musicians from the Finnish metal and folk scene.The band consists of Jonne Järvelä, Santeri Kallio (Amorphis), Jan Rechberger (Amorphis), Natalie Koskinen (Shape Of Despair), Eero Haula (Oceanwake), Jussi Rautio (Battlelore and Lovijatar), Yovan Nagwetch (Wabanag), Pinja Lintonen, Matti Karjalainen and Toni Perttula.

The new album Kallohonka will be filled with spiritually dazzling music, it’s based on eternal tunes and stories about the returning to foregone-roots. To set the right feel, musicians used a variety of folk music instruments, such as mandolin, kantele, fiddle, accordion and flute, yet they didn’t forget about some classic live-band instruments – both acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and percussion.

The first single “Vieras” was released a month ago, and it was the first song in which Jonne Järvelä has used a musical instrument from the Baltic psaltery family – previously mentioned Finnish kantele. The sound of this instrument kinda sets the tone – it’s one of the main instruments of the whole album.

The second single “En olé” is a little bit different though, you can strongly feel latino vibes. There’s a variety of musical instruments as it’s supposed to be in folk music, but that Spanish-spirit sure is breaking out. And it’s great, this shows us that Northern people are not just cold and depressed as it might seem to others, they have a serious, passionate, hot-blooded soul inside of them too, they just don’t show that that often…

So turn the volume up and take a listen to this Finnish folk – latino style!

Jonne Järvelä, the driving force of the internationally successful folk metal band KORPIKLAANI, will release his second folk music album entitled ”Kallohonka” on 28th April via Playground Music Scandinavia. The band that carries his name, JONNE, consists of ten well known musicians from the world of rock, metal and folk music. The first single from the album is called ”Vieras” and can now be heard in all music services world wide.

Another song worth mentioning is ”Pimeä on oksan taitto” which will be featured in the Finnish fantasy/horror movie ”Backwood Madness” (October 2017). ”Pimeä on oksan taitto” is a mysterious journey in the troll-occupied fantasy world. Ville Sorvali, bassist and vocalist of of the Finnish pagan metal band Moonsorrow, appears on the track as a guest vocalist. Both the movie and the music video for the song are directed by Ari Savonen.

Kallohonka album is filled with spiritually dazzling music, and the big spotlight is on folk music instruments. The songs focus on more traditional values and brings you back to your native roots.

Massacre Records are proud to announce the signing of JONNE to its roster.

JONNE was formed by Jonne Järvelä of KORPIKLAANI as a solo project which soon morphed and developed into a full band.

Wanting to do something that was musically different and away from his main band, JONNE is pure shamanistic folk music.

Jonne comments:
“An idea about the solo album struck me almost two years ago, when the early sketches of the songs begun to take shape. I immediately realized that the material wasn’t going to match Korpiklaani’s style. Those pieces had firmly grown on me and I wanted to release them under my own name.”

From starting out as a solo idea, it fast grew into a real band, accompanied by 9 other musicians from the Finnish folk & metal music scene, featuring members of Amorphis, Shape of Despair Official, Wabanag and Oceanwake.

JONNE’s s/t album is set to be released on July 24, 2015 via Massacre Records!

Shortly after the end of the celebrated Heidenfest 2012 tour together with their label mates of WINTERSUN, Korpiklaani will soon be on the road again. In January and February of 2013, the band will embark on an extensive headliner tour in order to bring both their classics as well as the enchanting tunes of their latest album, Manala, (out since August 3rd, 2012) onto the European stages. Support will come from Estonian fellow folk metallers METSATÖLL.

Every fan knows about Korpiklaani’s onstage brilliance. Now the band grants exclusive insight into their activities behind the scenes – in the form of a highly entertaining backstage tour of the Heidenfest 2012 show at LKA Longhorn, Stuttgart, hosted by Järvelä. Watch the video below:
