European sources have confirmed to BraveWords.com that NIGHTWISH and KAMELOT will embark on a fall tour together. Beginning with a pair of dates in Atlanta, GA on September 12th-13th, the tour will proceed to the Beacon Theater, in NYC, then on to Montreal. Ultimately making a giant loop across the northern tier of the continent, then a southern swath, before ultimately ending in Orlando, FL about a month later. Most of the venues will be 2-3000 seaters (New Orleans House Of Blues, at 800 capacity, being the smallest stop) and where they can’t be accommodated, the tour will play two nights!
While at the Finnish Metal Expo 2012, BraveWords.com learned that Nightwish’s feature length Imaginaerum film is currently working on post-production special effects, with an anticipated completion in early April. Plans include a possible screening at Cannes. Can you envision our favorite Finns mingling on the French Riviera? Come August 8th, the band will debut the film to fans with a special showing at the Hartwell Arena. The 11,000 capacity arena has hosted previous Nightwish live gigs, but this would be the largest movie premier in Finnish history. Stay tuned for more information, as it becomes available.
The new, second single from Imaginaerum will be the rocking track, ‘The Crow, The Owl And The Dove’, which will be released on March 2nd. Along with the title song, you will also get a previously unreleased song, ‘The Heart Asks Pleasure First’ (theme from movie The Piano). You will find the song in two different versions, including an instrumental. ‘The Crow, The Owl And The Dove’ is featured in three versions: radio-edit, album version and instrumental.

Thomas Youngblood is featured in a recent interview with the band’s official fan site, KamelotGermany.de. An excerpt is available below:
KG: Writing the new album is already underway, with a planned release date for September 2012. How is it going so far?
TY: “Going great, we have around 6-7 songs ready for preproduction. Oliver and I will do another songwriting session soon, we are still looking at locations. Maybe Thailand or Norway. Cold or Hot, which one to choose? Following that we will be in Germany for a few months with Sascha working on the album, along with Miro, Olaf and the usual crew there that has been with us since Karma. Special guests are being discussed now, it will be a blast, I’m looking forward to it!”
KG: Who will be mainly responsible for the songwriting this time around?
TY: “Myself along with Oliver, Sascha and the band. Whoever is singing will also be a part of the songwriting, depending on their level of experience with melodies and lyrics. I am also working with some friends on a few songs, there’s going to be a lot of material for this one.”
KG: The band evolves with each album and no album is like the other. Can you tell us a bit which direction you aim for at the moment? A more bombastic approach like with an orchestra for example, or a more natural sound?
TY: “In terms of sound, I would like the songs to have a bit more melody than we had on Poetry. Of course we want and will have new elements in the songs, and until we actually start putting the tracks down the sound will be somewhat mysterious. I would say don’t expect a lot of crazy differences from the past but expect some nice and unique surprises on this one.”
Kamelot recently issued a new video for their song ‘Necropolis’ which can be seen below. Thomas Youngblood commented, “With this video, we gave Owe (director) free reign to create something unique and visually stunning. Him and his team did a fantastic job!”
A video footage of singer Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY OF FIRE, KAMELOT) performing a karaoke cover of QUEEN‘s ‘The Show Must Go On’ aboard the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise posted online. You can watch the video below:
Video footage of Italian heavy metal singer Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY OF FIRE, KAMELOT) performing a karaoke-style cover version of the QUEEN classic “The Show Must Go On” on the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise — which set sail on January 23 aboard the Royal Caribbean Majesty Of The Seas from Miami, Florida to George Town, Cayman Islands and returned four days later — can be viewed below.
Lione was the lead singer for KAMELOT for their most recent North American, South American and European tours following the departure of the band’s longtime frontman, Roy Khan.
Lione stated in a 2011 interview that he would “would love” to join KAMELOT permanently. He said, “The KAMELOT songs are great, I really like the style and Khan is probably one of the few singers that I like. So, of course, I would consider that!!! But first let’s do the North American [tour]. Then if they will ask me, I’ll be more than happy to join the band permanently.”
He added, “Since the first time we met and played together, we had a very good feeling. Everything was easy and natural like we knew each other for years and everybody who saw the band in South America or Europe said we did great shows. I’m happy for the guys and the fans, so let’s see what the future will bring for us. Never say never.” Source: Blabbermouth.net
