FIREWIND have also just been confirmed for the newly launched Full Metal Cruise event, May 5th – 12th. The cruise starts in Hamburg/Germany and calls at the ports of Southampton/UK, Le Havre/France Amsterdam/The Netherlands, to end up in Hamburg again. Other bands announced to appear include IN EXTREMO, GAMMA RAY and DORO. More details can be found here: http://www.full-metal-cruise.com
“Paris Paris”, the new video from Norwegian singer Liv Kristine (LEAVES’ EYES, ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY), can be seen below. The clip was filmed in Gothenburg, Sweden with Swedish director Patric Ullaeus of the Revolver Film Company AB (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, EUROPE).
“Paris Paris” comes off Liv Kristine‘s fourth solo album, “Libertine”, which has just been released via the Napalm Records subsidiary Black Rose Productions. The CD was recorded at Mastersound Studio in Steinheim, Germany — the facility owned by her husband, Alexander Krull (ATROCITY, LEAVES’ EYES) — and marks Liv‘s collaboration with Dutch musician J.B. van der Wal (ABORTED, DR. DOOM), who recently joined LEAVES’ EYES and ATROCITY as the two bands’ new bassist.
“Libertine” track listing:
01. Interlude (intro)
02. Solve Me
03. Silence
04. Vanilla Skin Delight (duet with Tobias Regner)
05. Panic
06. Paris Paris
07. Wait For Rain
08. Love Crime
09. Libertine
10. Meet Me In The Red Sky
11. The Man With A Child In His Eyes (KATE BUSH cover)
The “Libertine” cover artwork can be seen below.
Commented Liv: “‘Libertine’ is truly a milestone in my career; it sums up my most important artistic experiences in my creative journey through life. The more rock and metal-based songs like ‘Vanilla Skin Delight’ (including superb male vocals from Tobias Regner, the third-season winner of ‘Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar’, the German reality show in the style of ‘American Idol’), ‘Paris Paris’, ‘Solve Me’ and title track, ‘Libertine’, certainly expose some of those magic moments which fans of THEATRE OF TRAGEDY enjoyed and treasured on ‘Aegis’ and ‘Musique’. The ballads ‘Silence’, ‘Love Crime’ and ‘Meet Me In The Red Sky’ will go straight into you hearts, each of them being absolute individual in their emotional expressions and musical compositions. Alex gave each track a perfect sound in the mix by emphasizing on each song’s characteristic accent and atmosphere.”
Liv Kristine‘s third solo album, “Skintight”, came out in North America in September 2010 via Napalm Records.

Having just returned from some successful shows in Asia and several high-profile European festival appearances, FIREWIND have most recently launched their second promotional video-clip for the “Few Against Many” album. The clip for the ballad “Edge Of A Dream (Feat. Apocalyptica)” was directed by the band’s own Bob Katsionis for Progressive Vision Group and can now be viewed below.
“Few Against Many”, was mixed by Jason Suecof & Eyal Levi at Audiohammer Studios (Trivium, All That Remains, Death Angel, etc.) and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Mastodon, Hatebreed, Symphony X, etc.). The iconic album’s artwork was once again created by FIREWIND’s longtime partner in all design matters, Gustavo Sazes / www.abstrata.net (Arch Enemy, Angra, Dream Evil, etc.). While the album’s standard version is available in the CD format as well as LP and also as Digital Download, “Few Against Many” is also released as limited edition Digipak CD with two bonus tracks. “Few Against Many” has recently climbed up the national sales charts in Greece to occupy the # 1 top spot for several weeks!
LEAVES’ EYES and ATROCITY‘s 2012 South American tour, which was scheduled to take place in early July, has been canceled. According to a statement from the Darkdimensions agency, the trek had to be called off because one of the promoters “couldn’t fulfill the needed requirements, which sadly made it not possible for the tour to happen this time as the shows were connected to each other. We are working for the tour to be rescheduled in 2013.”
Affected tour dates:
July 03 – San Jose, Costa Rica – La Aduana
July 05 – Quito, Ecuador – Teatro Nacional Benjamin Carrion
July 07 – Buenes Aires, Argentina – The Roxy Live
July 08 – Sao Paulo, Brazil – Carioca Club
Commented LEAVES’ EYES‘ frontwoman Liv Kristine: “With great sadness, we have to announce that the planned shows in July in Latin America can not take place. We are really disappointed that we can’t come over and play for all of our Latin American fans and we are working hard at rescheduling the tour for 2013. I’m so sad about this. Lots of love to our Latin America fans and friends.”
LEAVES’ EYES singer Liv Kristine will join FIREWIND on stage during the two bands’ upcoming European tour in September/October to perform the FIREWIND song “Breaking The Silence”.
The studio version of “Breaking The Silence”, which can be found on FIREWIND‘s 2006 album “Allegiance”, featured the female singer Tara Teresa. The track broke the Top 20 in Greece and remained on the chart for several weeks.
“Few Against Many”, the new album from FIREWIND, entered the official chart in Greece at No. 42 and in Germany at No. 90.
A CD-single version of the song “Wall Of Sound” is being released with the current issue (RUSH front cover) of the biggest hardrock/metal magazine in Scandinavia, Sweden Rock Magazine. This single is now exclusively available with the magazine as digipak CD, including the album tracks “Wall Of Sound” and “Few Against Many” as well as a previously unreleased demo version of “Wall Of Sound”.
“Few Against Many” was released in Europe on May 21 via Century Media Records and in North America on May 22 through DisManic, Inc. via eOne Distribution. The CD was mixed by Jason Suecof and Eyal Levi at Audiohammer Studios (TRIVIUM, ALL THAT REMAINS, DEATH ANGEL) in Sanford, Florida.
Produced by Gus, “Few Against Many” was recorded with his longtime bandmates, vocalist Apollo Papathanasio, keyboardist/guitarist Bob Katsionis and bassist Petros Christo, at Valve Studio in Greece as well as the Sweetspot Studios in Sweden and sees the band expanding on its signature melodic sound with some of its most aggressive songs to date. The CD also marks the recording debut of new FIREWIND drummer Johan Nunez (NIGHTRAGE).
