NIGHTWISH stated about the sudden singer switch, “In recent times it has become increasingly obvious that the direction and the needs of the band were in conflict, and this has led to a division from which we cannot recover.”
They added, “We are all strongly committed to this journey, this vehicle of spirit, and we are sure that this will lead to a brighter future for everyone.
“We forever remain excited about the adventures to come, and we are extremely proud of the two beautiful albums and the wonderful shows we shared together.”

Finnish NIGHTWISH has issued a short update as follows:
There have been rumours of Hartwall Areena (Helsinki, Finland, 10.11.2012) show being sold out. However, there are still some tickets left for seats with limited view.
Finnish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH and Reino are making history together. Each pair of Reino slippers is accompanied by an authenticity certificate, which guarantees you have a genuine and authentic pair of NIGHTWISH Reinos.
Says NIGHTWISH: “This must be the #1 Christmas present for this year! Check ’em out!!!”
The very first pair of Reino slippers was produced in Tampere, Finland at the time of the Great Depression in 1932. The classic slippers have kept their original look and endured unchanged the years of the depression, the wars, the oil crisis, the globalization and the whims of the fashion. Today, 80 years later, the Reino slippers are more popular than ever.
Finnish/Dutch symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH have launched their own wine called Imaginaerum, named after the band’s latest album and upcoming movie.
A new promotional clip for the wine, featuring the “NIGHTWISH way explanation for the typical wine term,” can be seen below.
Commented NIGHTWISH mainman/keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen: “We are proud to present a new NIGHTWISH item, Imaginaerum wine. Imaginaerum is the most imaginative wine on the planet. It’s inspired by otherworldly splendours, moments of wonderment and the joyous sound of laughter with a hint of campfire poetry, music of the spheres, and the long, smooth, star-filled finish of Lucid Dreams. It is a wine best enjoyed with the ones you hold dear. Cheers and enjoy!”
Imaginaerum wine is sourced from some of the most prestigious vineyards in central Spain. Its grapes originate from vines that are up to 100 years old and are growing at high altitudes in stony gravel soils. Old vines, almost no water and poor soils have resulted in a ridiculously low yields but grapes with super intensive aromas. Before bottling, the wine has spent 14 months in small barrels made of French oak.
The label of the bottle is based on the song “The Crow, The Owl And The Dove” from the “Imaginaerum” album. The mystery of the bird emblem will be revealed to anyone listening to the song with thought and a glass of Imaginaerum.
Finnish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH have issued the following update:
“Want more insight to the Imaginaerum movie? The official British Isles fan club, The Islanders, is offering a pre-order of the second and final printing of their Imaginaerum Special fanzine. Featuring interviews with the cast and crew, as well as other exclusive content.”
Director Stobe Harju commented: “The Wayfarer has the most fantastic insight of Imaginaerum. Get one!”
