Co-Founder and Former SORROWS PATH Guitarist Kostas Salomidis Forms New Band DISTORTED REFLECTION

Sorrows Path have released four power-doom albums and are considered one of the most well known Greek metal bands. When they were ready to record their fifth album, the co-founder and guitarist Kostas Salomidis decided to leave the band for musical reasons.

Kostas formed his own band DISTORTED REFLECTION. hey are totally dedicated to his unique doom vision, but even more heavy. Distorted Reflection is not a new story. Back in 1993, when Takis Drakopoulos formed Sorrows Path, Kostas suggested to him two band names: “Sorrow’s Path” and “Distorted Reflection”. Takis selected “Sorrows Path”, so “Distorted Reflection” is Kostas’ musical path. He will also have vocal duties for the very first time and Distorted Reflection will announce some great musicians very soon.

The famous Tomas Arfert (Candlemass, Krux) created the logo and he will also take care of all the artwork for the first album of the band. This will be titled “Doom Rules Eternally” and will be released next year. The recording of the album will take place at Fragile Studio with producer Vangelis Yalamas and will start late September.

Greek doom metallers SORROWS PATH have released a video to CANDLEMASS‘ ‘Black Stone Wielder’. The song is taken from METAL HAMMER GREECE compilation “Epicus Doomicus Hellenicus – A Tribute to CANDLEMASS”. The footage is filmed from SORROWS PATH live with CANDLEMASS in Athens, Greece.

Sorrows Path Band 2017

Greek doom metallers SORROWS PATH are pleased to present their new lyric video for the song “My Chosen God”. The song was included on the recent “Touching Infinity” album that came out late 2017 via German label Ιron Shield and featuring Thiago Oliveira, the guitarist for the upcoming final album of legendary Warrel Dane (out later in 2018 via Century Media).

Stated the band: “Thiago honored us to perform this awesome solo and we thank him from the very bottom of our doomed hearts!”

Greek doom metallers SORROWS PATH will release their new album “Touching Infinity” via IRON SHIELD RECORDS on Friday September 22nd. Now the band has unleashed a new video clip for “Fantasies Will Never Die” from the upcoming album. Watch it below.

“Touching Infinity” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Vangelis Yalamas at Fragile Studio.

The cover artwork has now been unveiled and can be seen below. It was designed by Nikos Marko (ROTTING CHRIST) and the band also features Brazilian guitar hero Thiago Oliveira (WARREL DANE) as a guest guitarist.

Athens’ doom metallers SORROWS PATH have announced that the Brazilian guitar hero Thiago Oliveira (WARREL DANE) will be the guest guitarist for the new SORROWS PATH album “Touching Infinity”!
Thiago will compose and perform the solo for the song “My Chosen God”.

The mixing and mastering will be done at Greek Fragile Studio by producer Vangelis Yalamas in 2017. The album will be released in 2017 by German IRON SHIELD records!
