WARREL DANE, the legendary vocalist of Sanctuary and Nevermore will return with his second solo album, currently created under the guidance of renowned producer Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Halford, Helloween, Sebastian Bach) in 2018!
“Shadow Work” is the follow up to the acclaimed “Praises to the War Machine” (2008) and stylistically strays away from its predecessor, which leaned towards a goth-tinged, less metallic rock sound. First rough mixes already reveal that “Shadow Work” will offer darker, heavier, more complex songs, occasionally flirting with extreme metal by incorporating such elements as blast beats and combining this with WARREL DANE’s unique, dramatic trademark vocals.
As with the previous WARREL DANE solo tours, including the 15th anniversary tour celebrating Nevermore’s classic, “Dead Heart in a Dead World”, the line-up for the record will consist of Johnny Moraes (guitars), Thiago Oliveira (guitars), Fabio Carito (bass) and Marcus Dotta (drums), who all have been playing with the Dane since 2014.
“Shadow Work” will be recorded during autumn 2017 and is expected to be released in the first half of 2018 via Century Media Records worldwide.
Athens’ doom metallers SORROWS PATH have announced that the Brazilian guitar hero Thiago Oliveira (WARREL DANE) will be the guest guitarist for the new SORROWS PATH album “Touching Infinity”!
Thiago will compose and perform the solo for the song “My Chosen God”.
The mixing and mastering will be done at Greek Fragile Studio by producer Vangelis Yalamas in 2017. The album will be released in 2017 by German IRON SHIELD records!
Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of the legendary Seattle metal band SANCTUARY. In 2010, four of the founding members, Warrel Dane, Jim Sheppard, Lenny Rutledge and Dave Budbill, came together to for a few select reunion performances. At first, it was just going to be a handful of shows, but the response and chemistry on stage was so overwhelming, the guys changed their minds. Now, some 20 years after they left off, Sanctuary will continue with their unique mix of US power metal, hard rock and progressive elements and begin work on a new LP. To complete the line-up, Brad Hull (FORCED ENTRY) will be filling in for former guitar player Sean Blosi. A late 2013 release is planned.
Comments the band:
Warrel Dane: “Having been with Century Media since 1995 with Nevermore it was a very comfortable decision for Sanctuary to sign with them. Century Media has a great team that always delivers for all of their bands. I’ve known most of them on a first name basis for many years and I look forward to this new chapter in history.”
Lenny Rutledge: “I can speak for every member of Sanctuary when I say we are all excited to join the Century Media family. We now have the opportunity to work with the best metal record label on the planet. We are looking forward to creating great music with an awesome team behind us.”
SANCTUARY released the classic albums “Refuge Denied” and “Into The Mirror Black” during their short existence between 1985 and 1992. Following the band’s dissolve, singer Warrel Dane and bassist Jim Sheppard formed NEVERMORE.
