Swedish metallers DEGRADEAD have issued the following:
Part 3 by the newest member, Amit Mohla (drums):
A new year. An album that is going to kill you!
Right now I’m feeling good. It´s Saturday and I´m just watching a football game on the TV. Newcastle vs. Chelsea… I hate them both and I really don´t care who wins, but it is interesting to watch.
The recording of the drums was damned fun, too bad we did not get to sit all together during the process. At first I was adding the drums, while everyone else was working. I was supposed to be recording from Monday to Friday but I was done with everything on Wednesday. So it took about 3-4 days. The drums are the element that usually takes the longest time, especially when it’s this serious.
Oh yeah, something funny happened (!). I was finished with the drums, and the guys woke me in the morning of the first day that I could sleep properly after the recordings.. So they woke me up, turned over the bed and the mattress, and afterwards they wrapped me in duct tape. Real funny… well… yeah…
Except this event they haven´t been messing with me that much. The worst was the tour where we spent about 18-19 days together. Took much crap like 24/7. The tours were totally fucking awesome! Incredibly fun! I am looking forward to the gigs after the recordings. They are so fucking fun!
I think I have really found my place in the band, and I thrive like hell. I like to take much place and I have really done this! I´ve gotten the chance to put my own imprint on many of the songs, which I think is great.
This will be heard on the album, which otherwise is completely different from any other album Degradead has made. We have a newfound roughness in the band! A little more Slayer, I think. Our thoughts and opinions come from very different places but in the end they´ve all meet in a single point. The sound is great and all this combined leads to a lovely mix.
After the recordings are done there will possibly be a little mini tour but first we will put much emphasis on public relations and promoting the CD. Then it will be tours. Our Manager Janne Lundqvist gets a lot of emails. People are pulling us and want us everywhere.
Don’t be degraded. Be Degradead
