ENSLAVED To Release ‘The Sleeping Gods’ EP

“Heimvegen”, a brand new song from Norwegian progressive/psychedelic black metallers ENSLAVED, is available for streaming at MetalInjection.net. The track comes off the band’s new EP, “The Sleeping Gods”, which will be released for free via Scion A/V in the near future.

According to MetalInjection.net, “The Sleeping Gods” is a 28-minute effort which “serves up a diverse feast of blackened Viking folk, prog and ambient psychedelia that will engage and challenge your metal mind. These tracks display the superlative songwriting skills we’ve come to expect from ENSLAVED, delivered with addictive, headbanging immediacy.”

DEAD BY APRIL To Release ‘Within My Heart’ Single

Swedish “pop/metal” band DEAD BY APRIL has issued the following update:

“After months of recording we are finally proud of letting you all know that the first single from our upcoming album will be ‘Within My Heart’. It will be out digitally on the 16th of May and our aim is to get it out worldwide to as many of you as possible. Apart from ‘Within My Heart’, we will release two other songs — one you may have heard previously and the second is a completely new one. In the meanwhile, check out this teaser of the song [see below] and let us know what you think of it.”

Due later in the year via Spinefarm Records, DEAD BY APRIL‘s sophomore album was produced by Swedish studio-meister Jacob Hellner (RAMMSTEIN) at his own Big Island Studio in Stockholm. The CD was mixed by fellow RAMMSTEIN regular Stefan Glaumann and features the session guitar work of Pontus Hjelm, who left DEAD BY APRIL last year to focus more on the writing and production side; his songs (including “More Than Yesterday”; the demo version of which appeared on the compilation mini-album “Stronger”, recently released via Spinefarm) will also be included, providing the all-important continuity with the self-titled debut, a Top 2 outing in Sweden.

“Losing You”, the first single from DEAD BY APRIL, topped the official chart in the band’s home country.

Descend To Release ‘The Life Delusion’ Single

Swedish progressive death metallers DESCEND will release a new single, “The Life Delusion”, on March 7 via Spotify. The single artwork was created by Emil Maxén.

“The Life Delusion” comes off the band’s debut album, “Through The Eyes Of The Burdened”, which will be released this spring/summer via Supernova Records.
