YNGWIE MALMSTEEN: Trailer For North American Tour Posted Online

Swedish guitar legend and classical metal master Yngwie Malmsteen will make his triumphant return to North American stages with a fall headlining tour. In support of Malmsteen‘s latest release, “Relentless”, the trek will kick off on Thursday, October 13 at New York City’s Irving Plaza.

Of the upcoming dates, Malmsteen commented, “I am very much looking forward to playing new pieces from ‘Relentless’, as well as Malmsteen classics. Fans can expect the unexpected…I raise the bar with every performance I do and this tour will be no different.”

POISONBLACK: ‘Scars’ Video Released

“Scars”, the new video from POISONBLACK — the Finnish band featuring former SENTENCED frontman Ville Laihiala — can be seen below. The song comes off the group’s fifth album, “Drive”, whichentered the official chart in the group’s home country at position No. 3. Released in Scandinavia on April 27 via Hype Records, the CD was recorded at Antfarm Studio in Århus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, MOONSPELL, DARK TRANQUILLITY, GOREFEST).

ARCH ENEMY Guitarists Interviewed On ‘Talking Metal’ (Video)

Mark Strigl of the “Talking Metal” podcast conducted an interview with guitarists Michael and Christopher Amott of Swedish/German extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY when the band played the Best Buy Theater in New York City on September 9, 2011. You can now watch the chat below.

ARCH ENEMY‘s December 13 show in Cologne will be filmed for a future DVD release. ARCH ENEMY will be supported by Century Media labelmates WARBRINGER and Taiwan’s premiere metal act CHTHONIC.

Commented ARCH ENEMY singer Angela Gossow: “2011 is my 10-year anniversary with ARCH ENEMY. I want to celebrate this with a very special event — we will film my hometown show in Cologne, Essigfabrik, Germany 13 December 2011 for our upcoming ‘World Khaos Tour’ DVD release! We aim to capture the live insanity of my fellow German metalheads as intensely as possible with cameras in the middle of the moshpit, in the front row, over, under, left, right and center. We want your blood, your sweat, your passion and get every last drop of it on celluloid! The awesome Filmefahrer Pictures team will make this an unforgettable shooting — so be there and become immortalized!!!”

“Khaos Legions”, the ninth studio album from ARCH ENEMY, sold around 6,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 78.

ARCH ENEMY‘s previous full-length studio CD of new material, “Rise Of The Tyrant”, debuted at position No. 84 in October 2007 with first-week U.S. sales of around 8,900 — approximately 25 percent less than the opening number (12,000) of its predecessor, 2005’s “Doomsday Machine” (which landed at No. 87).

“Khaos Legions” was released in Europe on May 30 and in the U.S. on June 7 via Century Media Records. The CD marks the band’s return to new, original material, after the release of the “Tyrants Of The Rising Sun – Live In Japan” live DVD/CD (2008) and the re-recordings album, “The Root Of All Evil” (2009). The effort was tracked at Sweet Spot Studio in the south of Sweden with engineer Rickard Bengtsson (who produced 2005’s “Doomsday Machine”).

Back to the fundamentals.
When the cellar were slimy of sweat, when all the walls were malted saliva and covered with posters in the colours of Possessed or Napalm Death, when worms filled abandoned residues of sandwiches…you know, when you are the rage in the stomach, you’re not hungry…

Returning therefore after the break in the mid-1990s voracious MALFEITOR, hungry as hyenas, hacked to pieces with barbed grunts and with murderous rhythmic banging our vertebrae without mercy. The 6 titles, including the bonus “the bread Collector” are making your face to rasp against a plaster wall, and here I’ve used yet a very simplistic term.

If you look well, you can see my ears bleeding…both for the auditory rape to reduce sensations and for danceable Venom or Terrorizer, this impression of luxury, calm and voluptuousness…

Brutal! and then the production ad hoc, the Swedish made “To Hell, Farewell” reappears enjoyable memories, this time Death Metal is to relieve its glorious elders (from Black Sabbath to Thrash-Metal) and to widen the solid foundations of today, major and ever resurgent (from Death to In Flames).

Here are its roots, raw and bloody.

Infantry without mercy the upcoming album entitled “Dum Morior Orior” has been announced for the first quarter of 2012, and it may be already defeated.  Intensive bombardment of these 6 titles will not leave no survivors. Infuriate as the U.S. combos (Deicide or Immolation) and frosty as the waters of the Baltic Sea, these chromatic bandits manage their hold-up and we abide thus in a position of unbearable wait when their next musical mischief.

This band will go far, they have a strong potential and a fierce desire, an internationally recognized talent and a rare altruism in the metal environment… I had a chance to interview via mail (September 27, 2011) band’s (very) nice SHAG, bassist of the powerful ZUUL FX, French band of great magnitude that has not finished to offer sacred (good) surprises. ZUUL FX is working hard now on the shooting of two new videos for the new album “The Torture Never Stops” (XIIIbis Records – 2011). The two chosen tracks are “The Torture Never Stops” and “The Song Of The Dead”. The band is also, since the beginning of August, working on the writing of the new album. The release should be early 2012.

MEL DELACROIX: What’s up for ZUUL FX after the concerts of the Hellfest, the Bataclan with Cavarela Conspiracy and another (at Blois, France) with Sepultura ? Any holidays?

SHAG: The holidays we passed contributing different ideas and already well advanced songs that we have in stock. We have made the point on the musical direction of the band and we have been working on new titles. We are also committed to finding new partners for this new “season”.

SABATON Bassist Forced To Sit Out Shows

Swedish metallers SABATON have released the following statement:

“The last shows in Canada [were] the first shows in 12 years that Pär [Sundström, bass] had to sit over a show due to a knee injury caught during the band’s current North American tour.

“Pär has after two days in hospital made the decision to return home and is now recovering.

“We have faith that Pär will be playing bass again on the closing shows of the world war tour and until then we will have a replacement bass player.”

Added Pär: “It hurts to leave from the middle of a tour and I never thought I see the day when I had to pass on a show.

“I hope to see you all in the future and cannot wait to return to the stage that I love so much and especially North America to finish what we started.
