Following last month’s tragic incident and the subsequent temporary closure of the main area outside the venue, RITCHIE BLACKMORE’S RAINBOW has announced that the show on Thursday 22 June 2017 is unfortunately no longer able to take place at Manchester Arena.
Other shows on Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow tour are not affected and will continue as planned, including London’s The O2 (Stone Free Festival) on Sat 17 June, Glasgow The SSE Hydro on Sun 25 June and Birmingham Genting Arena on Wed 28 June.

The promoter and venue are posting information today where fans can secure refunds.

San Diego, California-based metal outfit CARNIFEX have released the live music video of their song ‘Dark Heart Ceremony’. The song comes from their latest record “Slow Death”.

Metal gods collide on June 12th as indigo at The O2 plays host to the 15th annual Metal Hammer Golden God Awards, in association with Orange Amplification. The event attracts greats from the rock and metal industry and fans from across the world. So, it’s natural that Wargaming and World of Tanks are involved, which marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between the game and the heavy metal band SABATON.
For Wargaming and its millions of players, the combination of history and epic music is a huge part of their gaming scene. Not only is SABATON a big influence for fans of the game, but the band themselves love playing World of Tanks when they have some time between the shows. It just goes to show that this kind of united inspiration brings a massively diverse bunch of people together to share their passion…and blow stuff up.
This year won’t be SABATON’s first tour of the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards. In 2011, the band won the Breakthrough Band Award and was nominated in 2012, which was sponsored by Wargaming. Having performed in 2012, it only seems right that on the 15th anniversary of the event SABATON returns.

Regardless of your take on black metal forefathers VENOM, they are the undisputed originators of extreme metal as we know it. Almost 40 years after their inception, the revitalized 1989-1992 line-up of guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn, vocalist/bassist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan and drummer Anthony “Abaddon” Bray have returned with a monster of an album.

VENOM INC. was born during an impromptu live set at 2015’s Keep it True Festival in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany. The on-stage reunion was a rousing success amongst VENOM fans and music industry personnel alike, and although it was originally only set up for fun, Dolan began receiving numerous show offers for VENOM INC. from booking agents around the world. What started as a live set to celebrate VENOM‘s legacy immediately turned into a serious reunion discussion. The rest is history.
While unexpected at the outset, the end result of this reunion is an album that true VENOM fans will gladly add to the top of their playlists.
