International power metal band Asterise is set to release the second studio album ‘Tale of a Wandering Soul’ on December 6th 2024 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘Into Fantasy’ is released today and music video can be seen below.

“I decided to go with “Into Fantasy” as first single because it perfectly captures sound of the whole album. You can hear typical Power Metal rhythm guitars, fast guitar and keyboard solos, catchy choruses but also extraordinary bridge with totally different style and feel. Arnaud Menard and Sozos Michael did amazing job with the vocals. A lot of high-pitched notes in this song. Finally, the drums were recorded by real drummer, which adds a lot to result. If you are looking for something fresh but at the same time with old school Power Metal sound – you will not be disappointed.”

Due to the massive success of the second edition of Milwaukee Metal Festival, the iconic midwestern event is returning in 2025! The festival will take place once again at The Rave/Eagles Ballroom from May 16-18, 2025, with the pre-party kicking off on May 15. Swim the Current, the electrifying rock band featuring Greg Antine, Marcos Leal (Ill Nino), George Pond (Disciples of Verity), Chris Moore (George Lynch, Autograph) and Joe Gareri, proudly announces their signing with TLG|ZOID, distributed by Virgin Music Group. Their highly anticipated new single, “Stay”, will be released on October 18th.

Frontman Marcos Leal expressed his excitement:

Having played in numerous bands throughout the years, Guitarist Greg Antine came to a point in his career where he wanted to branch out and write songs that had more depth and were inspired by his personal life experiences. Having worked with Bassist George Pond for several years in previous projects including, Disciples Of Verity, Greg expressed his concept for Swim The Current to George in hopes of collaborating with him on this new music venture. The two began to flesh out ideas in George’s home studio and realized quickly that they were on to something special, but still needed something more to see their ideas through to complete their concepts. Greg was introduced to Joe Gareri, Guitar/Keyboards, by George during the Disciples Of Verity debut album recording sessions which Joe is also featured on as a guest artist. The three of them immediately hit it off and worked extremely well together. Greg and George realized that Joe’s cinematic writing style would be a perfect match for their concepts and Joe was then brought in as a full time member. After two songs were completed and demo’d in George’s studio utilizing programmed drums, it was suggested by their friend Allyson Song River Jaynes, that they reach out to her friend, drummer Chris Moore of Ultraphonix, Rock Of Ages, to see if he would be interested in working with the project. Upon hearing the strength of songwriting and musicianship of the band, Chris was all in and signed on as the fourth full time member of STC and now the band, from an instrument’s perspective, was complete.

The final missing piece for STC was a lead vocalist who could capture the sound they envisioned for their music. After working in the studio with a few different vocalists, George ultimately reached out to his friend Marcos Leal, of legendary international touring band Ill Nino. Marcos loved the music of STC as well as having the freedom and creativity of writing lyrics for the project. After recording their first song together with Marcos, “We Are Not The Same”, everyone new that this lineup was something special and Swim The Current was now complete! The release of “We Are Not The Same” took off instantly, and amassed thousands of streams, YouTube views and followers through a total organic DIY social media campaign.

Swim The Current’s sound is influenced and reminiscent of many of their favorite artists including, Deftones, Faith No More, Sevendust, POD, and Stabbing Westward. They continue to write new music and look forward to sharing their future releases with the world!

Modern rock band Robert Jon & The Wreck have returned with their newest single, “Life Between The Lines,” now available on all digital platforms. 

This is the band’s first release following their successful album Red Moon Rising, and it arrives on the heels of a standout performance at AmericanaFest, signalling another exciting chapter in their ongoing musical journey. Produced by the legendary Kevin Shirley, “Life Between The Lines” is a powerful track that blends heavy, 70s-inspired riffs with the band’s signature sound.

Accompanying the release is the official music video that captures the band in their element, delivering raw, high-energy performances that embody the intensity of the track and showcases Henry’s incredible guitar work.

“‘Life Between The Lines’ was a concept lyrically inspired by Robert Jon’s wife and son,” explains lead guitarist Henry James. “It captures the trials of life on the road and balancing that with life at home. The song was born out of a spontaneous sound check jam during our European tour, with Andrew’s aggressive drumming and Warren’s dynamic bass line setting the foundation. We combined that with my obsession with classic heavy metal from the late 70s and early 80s. Kevin Shirley helped us fine-tune everything in the studio, turning it into a powerful anthem. One year after their last release, Embryo are back with a completely renewed line-up and a brand-new single called “The Rise To Self-Demise” that marks a new chapter in their career. The band comments:

Musically and lyrically, the song is the conclusion of the concept included in “A Vivid Shade On Misery” showing the last days of Caravaggio’s life and some reflections about them and about the choices he made until then. Additionally, on November 29th, 2024, the long-awaited vinyl release of their critically acclaimed album “A Vivid Shade On Misery” which featured the legendary George Kollias (Nile) on drums. Tracks like “Pride”, “Highest Frame” and “Darkest Lights” were highly praised by both fans and critics, solidifying Embryo’s place among the most innovative bands in the metal scene. The vinyl version will be issued on 250 copies, 150 on vinyl total black and the others 100 copies on red vinyl.

About: After a couple of self-produced works and a first album (“Chaotic Age”) Embryo found its sound and recorded “No God Slave” (2010) with producer Simone Mularoni. The album received very good reviews and led the band to play new gigs in Switzerland, Germany, and Italy and be part of Kung Fu Factory’s Supremacy MMA videogame soundtrack with 2 songs. In 2014 Embryo first recorded a promo at Atomic Stuff Studio with Oscar Burato, then, in May, the band recorded the new self-titled cd at Domination Studio with Simone Mularoni. During the summer they played the main stage at Masters of Rock in the Czech Republic and Total Metal Festival in Italy. In October Embryo signed a deal with logic(il)logic Records for the release of the album and the reissue of “No God Slave” with some bonus tracks. In December the band made a little tour in Eastern Europe. The new album “Embryo” came out on the 10th of February 2015. The album received great reviews worldwide and Embryo started a European tour in May with Melechesh, Keep of Kalessin, and Tribulation. After a great show at MetalFest in the Czech Republic in July, the band joined Nile and Suffocation for the second part of their European tour in September. In 2016 the band has been part of the second leg of the “What Should Not Be Unearthed” Nile tour with Melechesh and Mithridatic. Embryo finished the recordings of the new album in January at Domination Studios again with guru Simone Mularoni. The band played at the 2017 edition of MetalFest in the Czech Republic on Sunday, June 4th, and signed a deal with Art Gates Records for the release of the 4th studio album “A Step Beyond Divinity” which came out on the 27th of October 2017 in Spain and the 24th of November 2017 in the rest of the world. The album has been enthusiastically reviewed entering the 2017 best albums of the year charts in various webzines all over the world. In November 2019 the band joined “The Last Atonement European tour” supporting Immolation, Ragnarok, and Monuments of Misanthropy for all the shows. In December the band released a free download digital EP including the new song Misguided legacy and three live songs taken from a live show of the band. In 2020 the famous drummer George Kollias (Nile) joined Embryo in the writing of the new album. The band entered again Domination Studio in July 2021 to record the brand new fifth album “A Vivid Shade On Misery”, released in early 2023 on Rockshots Records.
