OCEANS ON OTHER PLANETS Release Genre-Bending New Single ‘Other Side’

OCEANS ON OTHER PLANETS released their debut single “Other Side” on April 20th, a fresh take on alternative rock that draws influence from Linkin Park, Muse, MGMT, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Smashing Pumpkins. But Oceans on Other Planets melds these styles in their own unique, modern way. Described as “heavy” without the heavy guitars, Oceans on Other Planets utilizes textures reminiscent of classic rock and metal bands, while adding modern pop melodies and harmonies, mixed with their own modern flair.

Order the single at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/oceansonotherplanets/other-side

Oceans on Other Planets consists of lead singer, songwriter, and producer Nick Wolf (Icarus Landing), Jack Glazer (Plastic Rhino) on bass, Zak St. John (formerly Black Star Riders, Corey Taylor, and currently “In the End” Linkin Park tribute) on drums, and Mike St. Michaels (Scarlet Rose) on guitar.

Produced by Sahaj Ticotin (Starset, Nothing More, Motley Crue, RA) and foundingIcarus Landing member Nick Wolf, the track combines pop hooks and electronic elements with a heavy rock vibe to create a genre-bending masterpiece with “Other Side”. Lyrics like “I can’t wait another night feeling like it’s either do or die… are you gonna see me on the other side?” showcase Nick Wolf’s expert songwriting skills, while the unique backing instrumentation highlights the band’s vast musical influence.

With influences ranging from Muse,The Smashing Pumpkins, and Queens of the Stone Age, all the way to Linkin Park, Phoenix, and MGMT, Oceans on Other Planets combines a never-before-seen blend of genres embodying a sound that is rooted in classic rock but with a modern style and a fresh story to tell. With their earlier foundation in heavier music, hard rock, and metal, Oceans on Other Planets have expanded their genre to more modern alternative and indie rock, and this new sound can be heard throughout “Other Side”.

After releasing their debut single and music video, Oceans on Other Planets will be going on tour in May with Simon Says, with shows on May 5th in Des Moines, IA, May 7th in Joliet, IL, May 8th in Pittsburgh, PA, May 10th in Lakewood, OH, May 11th in Hanover, PA, and May 12th in Toledo, OH.

They will also play Rock on the Hill Music Festival in Pennsylvania on May 11th. Be sure to catch them on tour to experience a once-in-a-lifetime show.

About Oceans on Other Planets

Formed in 2023 by Nick Wolf (formerly known as Nicholas Emilio), Oceans on Other Planets features members Nick Wolf (Icarus Landing), Jack Glazer (Plastic Rhino) on bass, Zak St. John (“In the End” Linkin Park tribute) on drums, and Mike St. Michaels (Scarlet Rose) on guitar.

Combining classic, stripped-down hard rock with modern indie, Oceans on Other Planets takes a unique music-making approach, combining new sounds with a nostalgic feel. Straying from the heavy metal sounds of previous group Icarus Landing, singer-songwriter Nick Wolf curates a more subtle, simpler, and basic approach to rock music with Oceans on Other Planets, while keeping audiences engaged and curious as to what they will hear next.

Their new single “Other Side” features an infectious, groovy indie-electronic style, a new approach for Nick Wolf, and a side audiences have yet to hear.

Big things are destined for this group. Stay tuned to hear what’s next and be sure to catch them on tour this spring with Simon Says and at Rock on the Hill Music Festival.

CAITLIN KRISKO AND THE BROADCAST Announce September/October 2024 UK Tour

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 25, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: CAITLIN KRISKO AND THE BROADCAST. Leave a comment

After building up a cult-like fanbase over the past year with a steady wave of irresistible singles, rising American roots rock band Caitlin Krisko And The Broadcast will embark on their first UK Headline Tour from September 25th until October 4th.

Tickets go on sale at 10am BST on Friday April 26 via www.caitlinkriskoandthebroadcast.com

The UK tour follows the release of their debut EP Blueprintsout August 16, 2024.

Their first-ever 2024 headline UK tour follows Krisko’s inaugural 2023 UK tour in support of burgeoning California rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck. Krisko says “There is a vibrancy and enthusiasm to UK audiences that is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced on tour. The fans there have completely stolen my heart, and I am genuinely overflowing with gratitude for the dream opportunity to return this fall for our album release tour!”

After the unexpected death of her mother in 2023, Blueprints is an introspective reflection on the waves of emotion that follow such a loss. Caitlin Krisko delivers soaring melodies while simultaneously pouring her soul into the center spotlight of the album. Gut wrenching ballads like “Haunted By You” performed to near perfection, sit comfortably next to groove heavy rock anthems like “Piece of You”.

Blueprints puts the listener in the front seat for the Krisko experience as she turns to the music to capture her grief in songs like “Have To Say Goodbye” and “Blue Monday”. Uplifting the listener with songs like “Devil On Your Side” and “Operator”, her songs are celebrations with storytelling lyrics that take you for a full spectrum ride. Powerful drums, driving bass, and raw blues and rock guitar are hand squeezed into every nook and cranny of the album, delivering a saturated roots rocks experience done with a masterful and heartfelt touch.

Born in Detroit, raised in New York City and currently living in Asheville, North Carolina, Caitlin Krisko has been influenced by the sounds of East Coast rock and roll, Motown, and roots music. Krisko has been stunning audiences across America and Europe touring relentlessly with her own brand of roots-rock filled with soaring vocals, powerful grooves, emotional lyrics, and undeniable songwriting.

The band consists of Caitlin Krisko (lead vocals), Aaron Austin (guitar, background vocals), Michael W. Davis (drums), and William Seymour (bass, background vocals). Caitlin Krisko and The Broadcast have shared the bill with artists such as Mavis Staples, Marcus King, Blackberry Smoke, Margo Price, The Avett Brothers, Greta Van Fleet, and Robert Jon & The Wreck.

Last fall, the band released “Haunted by You” which was placed at the top of Spotify’s “Blues Ballads” playlist, garnering critical acclaim for its soulful blues and Krisko’s captivating performance.

The band has worked with producers such as Eric Sarafin (Ben Harper, Foreigner, Barenaked Ladies), and Jim Scott (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Johnny Cash, Grace Potter) while also releasing 2020’s album “Lost My Sight” working hand in hand with legendary session giant; previous member of Tedeschi Trucks Band, and David Bowie’s Blackstar “Tim Lefebvre” and current TTB drummer Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell.

Fans of Caitlin Krisko And The Broadcast can listen to their newest single “Piece of You” – available on all platforms May 17, 2024, with the full EP release August 16, 2024. Catch them on tours of the USA, Europe, and UK throughout the remainder of 2024.

Saudi Thrash Metal Maniacs DUNE Unveil Explosive Single ‘Refuge’ from Debut EP “Years Of Chains”

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DUNE. Leave a comment

Dune, the relentless force in the world of thrash metal, announces the release of their first lyric video for the single “Refuge” a relentless anthem from their debut EP “Years Of Chains”, which is being unleashed this coming May 2024. Dune, formed in 2004 at the pinnacle of the Saudi metal scene, has returned stronger than ever after a hiatus and is ready to metal faces with their high-speed riffs and visceral vocals. “Refuge” has been in the works for quite a long time as the band shares:

“In 2007 Refuge was a song that was recorded multiple times during the years but we were never satisfied with the result as we faced issues with quality or it didn’t sound as we hoped, our vocalist screamed in the recording so hard that his balls started hurting the next day, still we didn’t like the result and scrapped that whole thing.”

Now that it’s been perfected to the band’s standard, “Refuge” showcases Dune‘s commitment to delivering a breakneck experience for metal enthusiasts. With its groovy orientation, aggressive feel, and heavy riffs, the track is a testament to the band’s evolution and dedication to pushing musical boundaries.

200 STAB WOUNDS to Release “Manic Manual Procedures” Album on June 28th

Cleveland death metal legends-in-waiting 200 STAB WOUNDS have returned with Manual Manic Procedures, set for release on June 28th through Metal Blade Records.

A superlative sophomore effort that follows their tour de force debut, 2021’s Slave To The Scalpel, the new album Manual Manic Procedures is a brutal slab of old-school death metal with a contemporary edge. Not for the faint-hearted, the record may well be the album that puts classic gore-themed ferocity back into the metal community’s collective consciousness.

Slave To The Scalpel saw 200 STAB WOUNDS insinuate themselves into the minds of extreme metal fans, leading to praise from Pitchfork for their “unpretentious brilliance, pitch-black sense of humor” and an “aesthetic [that’s] built around a chugging, groovy riff that stomps down a path of destruction.” Manual Manic Procedures sees the band upping the ante both musically and lyrically.

The album’s artwork — graphically depicting radical surgery on somebody who may or may not be conscious — is an immediate indicator of what this record is all about. No punches pulled, no holds barred, just blood-soaked death metal.

The themes on Manual Manic Procedures run the gamut of classic gore-metal horror subject matter, beloved to the band and their rapidly growing audience. “I’ll feel what kind of vibe the song has, and what topic would fit for that particular song,” vocalist/guitarist Steve Buhl explains. “The last song on the new record, ‘Parricide,’ is about someone going into a nursing home, and just blowing it up. The lyrics are about those type of corporations that don’t really give a fuck about those people. It’s all just a money grab.”

The lead single is Manual Manic Procedures‘ opening track, “Hands Of Eternity.” Buhl explains that the song is about being trapped in your own mind, something most of us can relate to. “That song is a good example of where we want to go musically. The heavy riffs are there, but there’s still a lot of good melody. It’s not just crazy fucking blast beats and, ‘riff riff riff.’ It’s more structured, groovy, and melodic, but still heavy. That’s one of my favorites.”

Watch below 200 STAB WOUNDS‘ video for “Hands Of Eternity,” shot at a sold-out hometown show.

Manual Manic Procedures, which was produced and mixed by Andy Nelson and mastered by Brad Boatwright, will be available on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in various color variants.

PALLBEARER Release Second Single + Video ‘Endless Place’ from Upcoming Album

PALLBEARER have released a second song from their highly-anticipated new album, Mind Burns Alive (May 17, Nuclear Blast Records), with today’s arrival of the deeply moving ‘Endless Place,’ complemented by a visually striking black-and-white companion video.

‘Endless Place,’ which features the band’s first ever musical collaboration (a saxophone solo from Norman Williamson of Amasa Hines), encapsulates the thematic essence of the album, as described by Brett Campbell: “These are vignettes which tell the stories of people who deal with myriad sicknesses of the spirit. These are illnesses communicated by the world we live in, and the subjects are the symptoms of its disease.” The dreamlike scenario that enfolds in ‘Endless Place,’ both lyrically and musically, is one focused on a sense of being lost, disjointed, trapped by unease and confusion.

LISTEN TO ‘ENDLESS PLACE’: https://pallbearer.bfan.link/endless-place.ema

Five years in the making, with recording initially slated for 2020, and thwarted yet again in 2022, it was 2023 that saw the band members living locally to one another in Little Rock for the first time in nine years. As a group, they self-produced the album in their own, newly constructed studio (Idlewild Audio) and at Fellowship Hall Sound. Reflecting on this, bassist/vocalist Joseph D. Rowland remarked, “It’s ironic given that the album is largely centered around isolation, but it felt like it summoned us into being back together again in one town, after so long apart.”

Album pre-orders, which include limited-edition vinyl, CD and digital, are available now: https://pallbearer.bfan.link/mind-burns-alive.
