DÅÅTH to Release “The Deceivers”, First New Full-Length in 14 Years, on May 3rd

Lauded progressive death metal outfit DÅÅTH has emerged from its thirteen-year hiatus with a new album, The Deceivers, set for release May 3rd via Metal Blade Records.

The Deceivers is at once a devastating reminder and giant leap forward that showcases the technical wizardry and brutal intensity that the Atlanta, Georgia-bred band is capable of. Band founder/guitarist Eyal Levi has overseen an overhaul of the lineup, though importantly DÅÅTH still features force-of-nature vocalist Sean Zatorsky, who has fronted the band since 2007. Together they are now joined by Kerim “Krimh” Lechner on drums, Jesse Zuretti on orchestration and guitar, Rafael Trujillo on lead guitar, and David Marvuglio on bass.

“Now DÅÅTH is more orchestrated, more over the top. We have more melodies and they’re beautiful,” Levi says. That’s what The Deceivers is: Monstrously heavy but beautifully orchestrated, blessed with melodies that will haunt anybody fortunate enough to hear it. The nine tracks were produced by Levi, with Andrew Wade doing vocal production, John Douglass engineering, Jens Bogren mixing, and Tony Lindgren mastering.

Guest guitar solos are contributed across numerous tracks by Jeff Loomis (Nevermore, Arch Enemy), Mark Holcomb (Periphery), Dean Lamb (Archspire), Per Nilsson, (Scar Symmetry, Meshuggah), Spiro Dussias (Platonist), and Dan Sugarman (Ice Nine Kills), with renowned video game composer Mick Gordon (Doom Eternal) contributing sound design and synth to “Purified By Vengeance.”

The album title is the continuation of a theme that began with 2007’s The Hinderers and continued with 2009’s The Concealers. “Those titles are about the outside world,” Levi says. “They’re not about us. While they touch on the self-destruction and self-deception, we all occasionally fall victim to, this album is a scathing critique and exploration of certain societal elements. The deceivers and obstructers in life. Those who impede your progress through subterfuge and manipulation.“

That critique of the modern world is on full display in the single and video “Hex Unending,” which features the lyrics, “Cleanse me, Rid the malignancy, Commence deliverance, Severance, From this wretched hex unending.” “It’s about shedding skin, cleansing the old me; reinventing, and carving a new path vocally, physically, and mentally,” explains Zatorsky. “This song needed to be front and center on the record.”

Zuretti further elaborates, “‘Hex Unending’ is a track that combines all of the many eras of metal music at its peak — there’s catchiness, groove, power, virtuosity, and uncommon creativity coursing through its veins. It’s the sound of 2024 — it’s perfectly polished yet organic, it’s modern arrangement and composition leads you on unexpected paths – if we were to bet, this track will propel true metal back into the forefront of heavy music.“

DÅÅTH began their journey in 1999 and stayed busy for just over a decade before its 2011 hiatus. In that time, the band released four studio albums – Futility in 2004, The Hinderers in 2007, The Concealers in 2009, and their self-titled LP in 2010. Tours with Cattle Decapitation, Dark Funeral, Cynic, Nile, Slayer, Dragonforce, Goatwhore, Chimaira, Dying Fetus, and Devildriver followed. DÅÅTH also landed a coveted spot on Ozzfest playing before tens of thousands of fans in outdoor amphitheaters across the US, in addition to the infamous and long-running metal tour Summer Slaughter.

After twelve years on hiatus, DÅÅTH found their ideal new home at Metal Blade, signing to the label and wasting no time creating new music, cover songs (Death‘s “The Philosopher” and Morbid Angel‘s “Where the Slime Live“) and reissuing previous albums. The first new song from the revitalized DÅÅTH, “No Rest No End” (released ahead of the album in February 2023), features guest solos by Spiro Dussias and now-DÅÅTH member Trujillo, who impressed Levi so much while guesting on the track that he was invited to join the band.

Eyal Levi – guitar
Sean Z – vocals
Krimh – drums
Jesse Zuretti – orchestration, synth, guitar
Rafael Trujillo – lead guitar
Davis Marvuglio – bass

CITOVITZ AND THE FIREFLIES OF FEBRUARY Unleash Final Visualizer for “Hive of Weirdness” Album with ‘AI Embrace’

Polish guitarist and composer ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ, a former recording artist for the legendary Down Boys Records founded by Erik Turner and Jerry Dixon of Warrant, unveils the final mesmerizing chapter of his CITOVITZ AND THE FIREFLIES OF FEBRUARY‘s “Hive of Weirdness” album with the premiere of a stunning new visualiser for the title track.

This release marks the culmination of a remarkable instrumental trilogy, a testament to Citowicz’s lifelong dedication to the guitar. “I am incredibly happy and grateful to finally bring this album to life,” Citowicz expresses. “It’s been a journey filled with passion, exploration, and the pure joy of creating music.”

The “Hive of Weirdness” title itself holds a profound meaning for Citowicz. As an autistic adult, the world can often present itself as a complex and overwhelming place. Through his music, particularly the instrumental guitar stories that comprise this album, Citowicz finds a unique way to navigate and express his experiences. The “Hive of Weirdness” becomes a metaphor for the world around him, a world brimming with both beauty and challenges, which he translates into captivating soundscapes.

The “Hive of Weirdness” visualiser is a captivating display of modern artistry, crafted with the gentle touch of cutting-edge AI video editors. This innovative approach adds a unique layer of depth to the visual narrative, perfectly complementing the song’s evocative soundscapes.

Citowicz’s self-taught mastery of the guitar shines throughout the “Hive of Weirdness” album. His music transcends technical prowess, prioritizing melody and emotional connection. As he describes, “My ‘guitar sacred trio’ – Richie Sambora, Steve Clark, Jan Borysewicz, and Eddie Van Halen – have all profoundly influenced my style. But for me, it’s always been about creating music that resonates, that speaks from the heart.”

The propulsive bass work of Patryk Szymanski further elevates the music, weaving a seamless tapestry of rhythm and melody that underpins Citowicz’s soaring guitar lines.

UNLEASH THE ARCHERS Reveal Second Single + Video ‘Ghosts In The Mist’

Canada’s most exciting metal band, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, recently announced the upcoming release of their gamechanging sixth studio album, Phantoma, out May 10, 2024 via Napalm Records. On this stunning conceptual release, listeners join story protagonist Phantoma, a Phase 4 / Network Tier 0 unit – model A, on an inspiring yet harrowing journey as she traverses the new age of AI on a dystopian, near-future planet earth.

Phantoma follows the band’s 2020 breakout album, Abyss, which won the JUNO Award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year after debuting at #1 on the US Current Hard Music and Top New Artist charts, and was dubbed by Bandcamp as “a mandatory listen” upon release.

Today, following the release of wondrous first single, “Green & Glass”, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS are back with an addictive, synth-infused second single, “Ghosts In The Mist”. Blending modern guitar stylings with 80s arena rock vibes, the track boasts one of the album’s most sing-along worthy choruses and heaviest breakdowns. Check out the track today alongside a high-energy performance video!

UNLEASH THE ARCHERS says about “Ghosts In The Mist”:
“If you saw us at any of the shows we played last year then you might recognize this track! We filmed the music video at Mad With Power Fest, ProgPower USA, and at our show in Montreal, Canada, and it is full of so many friends and familiar faces! We love including these particular festivals in the video because they have both been supporters of ours for a very long time, and we hope we will get to play them again and again as the years go on.
The track is one of the more synth heavy songs on the album, but it’s also got some rad death vocals from Grant that you can bang your head to, so we hope there will be a little something for everyone to enjoy here!”

Fans located anywhere who pre-order via any Napalm webstore, IndieMerch or Bandcamp will be entered to win a ticket to the official Phantoma virtual listening party! See the band’s social media accounts for additional information.

Pre-Order Phantoma HERE

Intertwining reality with imagination, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS were inspired to utilize elements of AI during the creation of Phantoma, in keeping with its innovative theme. Frontwoman and lyricist Brittney Slayes conjured the album’s concept in 2021; before the swarm of pressing commentary surrounding AI began to reach an all-time high. With the band’s one-of-a-kind blend of power metal, traditional heavy metal, modern prog and pop sensibilities, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS spin a web of sharp musicality, high sci-fi concept and important social commentary about discovering the brutal truths behind the manufactured sheen of social media posturing.

The band weaved electronic and synthwave elements throughout the album’s 10 colossal anthems, which – in line with its theme – prove much darker and heavier in comparison to the bright positivity of Abyss. Album opener “Human Era” sets the tone with imagery of a bleak, windswept futurescape that crescendos headlong into the breakneck pace of power metal bastion “Ph4/NT0mA” – a masterwork of dueling guitar solos and vocal acrobatics. Trad-metal influenced “Buried In Code” lights the way with pummeling rhythms before the album’s path turns dark on heavy metal hardened “The Collective”, with Brittney Slayes’ warm tones inviting the listener to ‘join or stand aside’! Hair-raising first single “Green & Glass” unveils the truth before the upbeat 80s flavored “Gods In Decay” and the extraordinary balladic anthem “Give It Up Or Give It All” showcase the varied song writing prowess of UNLEASH THE ARCHERS’ modern era. A trifecta of concept closers begins with the moody “Ghosts In The Mist”, leading into the soaring yet menacing “Seeking Vengeance” before closing with the bittersweet tale of “Blood Empress”.

Mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen, and with lead guitarist Andrew Kingsley at the helm as both principal songwriter and producer, Phantoma is an exciting advancement in UNLEASH THE ARCHERS’ songwriting and storytelling mastery, and a giant leap forward in their towering musical trajectory.

Phantoma track listing:
1. Human Era
2. Ph4/NT0mA
3. Buried In Code
4. The Collective
5. Green & Glass
6. Gods In Decay
7. Give It Up Or Give It All

As a result of brisk ticket sales and numerous sellouts, America’s preeminent progressive rock band KANSAS is adding a third and final leg to their 50th Anniversary Tour. The “Another Fork in The Road” Tour celebrates 50 years of the band’s illustrious music history with concerts featuring two full hours of memorable hits, fan favorites and deep cuts rarely performed live. The tour has been hallmarked by energetic and spellbinding performances at some of the foremost theaters and performing arts centers across the United States and into Canada.

Most newly announced concert dates go on sale this Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10AM Local Venue Time. KANSAS Fan Club, American Express Card Holders, Spotify, and other pre-sales begin Wednesday, March 20, at 10AM Eastern Time.

Previously announced concert dates and KANSAS VIP Packages are on sale now and selling fast.

Ticket information can be found at kansasband.com/tour-dates/

“This tour has already been incredibly special for the band. The 50th Anniversary Tour started in 2023 which commemorates KANSAS’s first year as a band. It is continuing in 2024 which commemorates the release of the first KANSAS album,” comments KANSAS guitarist and original member Richard Williams. “There are so many places in the U.S. where we haven’t been able to play yet, Topeka and Wichita just to name two, we knew we would have to add a third and final leg to the tour. After such a successful and sold-out premiere of the tour in Pittsburgh, PA, we wanted to put an exclamation point on the tour by having the closing 50th Anniversary Tour concert take place back there at the Benedum Center.”

In a tribute to the band’s five decades of success, Billboard Magazine describes the basis for their longstanding appeal: “Blending blues-based hard rock and intricate progressive constructions, KANSAS staked out its own musical territory, at once original and accessible.” Billboard.com – KANSAS Hits 50

“The audiences for this 50th Anniversary Tour have been exhilarating,” adds KANSAS lead vocalist Ronnie Platt. “Let me tell you, after a decade of performing in the band, the energy the fans bring each night continues to give me goosebumps. Fans in attendance seem to continue to raise their energy level and that just makes it even more fun for us up on stage than it already is!”

“As in life, our entire career has been a winding journey,” adds original guitarist Richard Williams. “Whether it’s been the ‘original’ lineup signing with Don Kirshner, years on the bus, touring with Queen, and finally worldwide success peaking with Leftoverture & Point of Know Return.” Williams goes on to remember, “That was followed by various lineup changes, the valleys of the 90’s and ‘dinosaur bands’ losing steam, to our most recent ‘rebirth’ and success of our latest new music over the last decade.” Williams concludes, “There have been and continue to be several forks in the road of that journey. This 50th Anniversary Tour and release represent that journey and the forks along that road.”

To further celebrate the band’s 50th Anniversary, InsideOutMusic has released Another Fork in the Road – 50 Years of KANSAS. The 3-CD career-spanning collection features carefully selected tracks from across KANSAS’s sizable discography. It also includes a new version of the song ‘Can I Tell You.’ Originally released on their 1974 debut album, the song is updated by the current lineup. Another Fork in the Road – 50 Years of KANSAS is available now. Fans can order it HERE

KANSAS boasts a lineup including original guitarist Richard Williams, bassist & vocalist Billy Greer, lead vocalist & keyboardist Ronnie Platt, keyboardist & vocalist Tom Brislin, violinist & guitarist Joe Deninzon, and original drummer Phil Ehart. Drummer Eric Holmquist is performing on drums while Phil Ehart continues to recover from a major heart attack.

This summer, KANSAS will take a break from its 50th Anniversary Tour to perform its KANSAS Classics set at different events across the United States.

With no signs of slowing down, KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences.

Enigmatic black metal masters UADA are now unveiling a mind-bending new music video for the song, “Retraversing the Void,” which is taken from the band’s latest full-length, ‘Crepuscule Natura.’ The evocative clip can be found at THIS LOCATION.

UADA comments, “Originally filmed in 2021 and then re-filmed in 2023, the story of ‘Retraversing the Void’ spins light on the ever-old cliche’ tale of rising from the fall.

“As life is full of ups and downs, it is of utmost importance to remember our worth, dedication, and inner potential so that we may understand the universes plan in guiding us along our path.

“While it may be common to feel lost from time to time, we must know we are always where we are meant to be in order to learn from the experiences life presents.

“We hope the symbolism within provides an awakening analogy of opening our perception to the balance of all things as well as the ability to listen to the greater powers (be it the higher-self, an ancestral messenger, or perhaps a deity known as one of many gods) who often speak upon deaf ears.

“We are all the substance that is and ever was.”

Ever since the cloaked Pacific Northwest band appeared on the music radar, UADA has always been electrified by both polar worlds. Their echelon was stark and meaningful. Within the stretch of three albums as well as dense and triumphant live shows across the globe, they have not only spiked the map of extreme metal music but their unrelenting touring schedule and unbridled will to push forward into new horizons has also earned them a reception in all the extremes imaginable, be it worship or spite.

Five sonic vessels form the nucleus of ‘Crepuscule Natura,’ and within it`s 41 minutes, the record easily creates a sonic and aesthetic bridge between the band`s debut, ‘Devoid of Light’ (2016), and their sophomore effort ‘Cult of a Dying Sun’ (2018), only to forge onward upon the relentless path set forth with ‘Djinn’ (2020). Here, a more refined and muscular, yet no less melodic stronghold awaits. On ‘Crepuscule Natura,’ UADA provides all their memorable hooks, tasteful leads, and riding blasts in their distinct style, balancing their epic surging melodies with powerful spurts of aggression. Just like the band’s smoke-heavy shows, the momentum and emphasis of their craft always stays grandiose, mythical, and triumphant – all the while making sure to birth a couple of new fan favorites and soon-to-be staple live songs.

‘Crepuscule Natura’, once again graced by the artwork of legendary Kris Verwimp and photography by Peter Beste, shows UADA on fire to unleash the marrow of black heavy metal.
