Mortemorium is a deathcore band from Głogów and Rawicz (Poland) formed in 2020. “It’s hard to clasify our music in one specific genre. We try to blend different styles, but keeping it dark and heavy. Every member of our band started doing music years ago in many different genres, so we blend our experience into unique style of Mortemorium.“
Last year they released their debut album “Aanima Vilis” in digital form. Now it’s time to listen to it the way its meant to be listened: on a CD.
The album “Aanima Vilis” by Mortemorium delves into the dark side of humanity and the struggles that we face. With songs that touch upon topics like nuclear disasters, suicide, and bullying, the album showcases the band’s willingness to confront difficult issues head-on. Through their music, band send a message about the importance of facing our demons and finding a way to rise above them.
Music was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jarek Wysocki at Soundscope Studio (71TonMan, Lost Soul, Icon of Evil). Intro was done by Droom. Cover artwork by Kucol.
Album “Aanima Vilis” was released digitally May 29th, 2023 and physically February 29, 2024 by Polish label Via Nocturna (buy CD).
Finnish melodic metal band Justice Theory have released a new single “Let It Die Tonight”. A music video for the song has been produced by Karma Media’s Teemu Myöhänen. The music video is Justice Theory’s first music video in six years.
The new single “Let It Die Tonight” originated in the fall of 2022. Guitarist and singer Valtteri Saharinen tells about the song:
“This song is one of those that writes itself. It flowed out effortlessly in one go, and there was an immediate sense of magic. Unlike usual, the basic idea for the song this time came from the rhythm of the rhythm guitar. On top of that, a captivating amorphis-style melody effortlessly emerged, audible in the mind from the first beat. “Let It Die Tonight” is a prime example of letting the “flow” take over and trusting what comes from the heart—letting everything come out.
The song had a dark atmosphere, reminiscent of our earlier track “Fade Into The Night.” Starting from this initial setting, I decided to draw lyrics from the same mood. During that time in my personal life, I was in a phase of dealing with letting go—losing something very dear to oneself. I began to express my thoughts on paper about what it feels like when you realize you’re standing at a crossroads and you just have to let go, even though it hurts like hell.
The words are straightforward; I didn’t write them necessarily to offer comfort or provide answers to life’s big questions. This lyric is just one man’s thoughts on what it feels like to let go when it’s necessary, and there’s no turning back. I believe among you listeners, there are those who have felt the same way, perhaps even worse. You know what I’m talking about. And for those of you who haven’t yet experienced the feeling of letting go, I want to say, cherish and appreciate what you have. Tomorrow, that moment could change and become the last.”
Invocation is the title of the highly anticipated new 11-track album from slide guitar virtuoso Troy Redfern. The album, released by RED7 Records on Friday 17th May 2024, is now available in limited edition coloured vinyl, black vinyl, plus two different CD cover artwork designs. All formats are available to pre-order from www.troyredfern.com.
The fourth single from the album “The Calling” was released Friday 1 March and is available on Spotify HERE.
The IRSC code for the single is UKHDU1600077.
Says Troy, “‘I’ve always wanted to write a slow motion, epic kind of a tune. The Calling was a song that was born out of that desire. This song is about escaping the technological net we all live in, and to get out into the wilderness to reset and get perspective on what’s important in life.”
Troy has proved time and time again that his cup of inspiration is not only full, but runneth over, writing and release albums at an unprecedented pace and judging by the strength of “The Calling” and the three previous singles “The Strange,” “Getaway” and “The Fever,” the forthcoming album Invocation, promises to be his best yet.
Over the course of last two albums The Fire Cosmic (2021) and Wings of Salvation (2022) Troy found his true voice stylistically in terms of writing and playing, but with Invocation he created a collection of outstanding new songs that carves out his own identity as to who he really is an artist.
Troy head to the west Wales coast with his trusty 1929 National Triolian resonator guitar for a week of solitude in a remote Sheppard’s hut to sketch the initial song ideas for the new album.
“It was important for me to clear my mind of all distractions so I could really focus on what I wanted to write on this album and the direction I wanted to take it in,” says Troy.
With Invocation Troy explores fresh musical territory, from the heavy, bone crushing slide riffs and big sing along choruses on “Van Helsing” and “Getaway” to the evocative, wind-swept western landscapes of “The Native” and “Blind Me.” After three albums in three years Troy continues to expand his musical horizons and keep his creative fire burning.

The video story is inspired by many sci-if movies that we know for long time, yet feels more relevant today than ever – humans vs machines. Will AI take over? Humanity must stand united.

Watch the stunning, new FIREWIND video clip for “Stand United”, now premiering below:
Since more than twenty years, FIREWIND enthrall heavy music fans with their exciting blend of hard rock and power metal. Razor-sharp riffs by Gus G, big hooks and solos meet the incredible vocal skills of charismatic singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, Radiant, Seventh Avenue, amongst others).
Stand United features nine brand new songs produced with Dennis Ward (Magnum, Unisonic), as well as a cover of the 80s pop rock classic ‘Talking in Your Sleep’, originally recorded by The Romantics but giving it a metal twist in the style of FIREWIND. Their much-acclaimed, new studio offering also bears testament to the band’s sheer enthusiasm and lyrical topics that could not be more relevant. “I wouldn’t exactly call ‘Stand United’ a classic concept album, but the album title indicates what we’re about thematically,”Gus G, who has also contributed with more lyric ideas on this one than any album before, recently said. “This world seems to be getting more and more out of balance, what with environmental disasters, the pandemic, the wars currently raging all over the globe. In such times, it’s more important than ever for mankind to stand close together instead of fighting each other. That’s what ‘Stand United’ is about!”
To celebrate their new record in glorious style, and while they are currently on the road with MASTERPLAN, FIREWIND will also return to the US and Canada, the UK as well as Japan this Spring! Make sure to see them live on tour, Tickets and VIP bundles are available at:https://bnds.us/663bll

Rising hard rock outfit S.O.R.M has just dropped a powerful new single, featuring legendary Doug Blair of W.A.S.P. The track, titled “Under My Skin”, showcases the band’s signature blend of contemporary and traditional heavy music, with a touch of power ballad magic.
“I am very proud of a collaboration that began already 2 years ago, when Micke Holm asked if I’d contribute a lead to a track being recorded by his band S.O.R.M“, says Doug Blair.
“I’d met Micke a while after he purchased the very last unsold 1990s BLAIR MUTANT TWIN double neck acoustic/electric guitar, which I delivered to his colleague in Stockholm. We’ve performed together quite a few times since then, in Sweden and Finland, as a duo and with the S.O.R.M Band. It’s been great to know the guys, and be involved a bit in their growth!”
He continues:
“Cautiously agreeing to take a listen to a song (always being naturally skeptical), ‘Under My Skin’ enthralled on first listen! Micke’s vocal delivery, the lyrics and dynamics of the arrangement all made me PUMPED UP to craft something cool for the emotional solo section. Last year, we finally found time to meet and mix the song in Stockholm – as I had requested (and demoed) a few effective overall arrangement/dynamics ideas, which I thought would improve the results! If you enjoy my leads on “Heaven’s Hung”, “Miss You”, etc., you WILL enjoy this song and lead! Give these guys a listen, and soon l’ll announce an upcoming appearance with Micke again!“
Guitarist and vocalist Micke Holm about the track:
“This version of ‘Under My Skin’ was the original version of the song from the beginning. It was meant to be on the album but unfortunately was not finished in time. That’s why we did a piano version for the record. In this power ballad version, we have the honor to work with Doug Blair from the legendary W.A.S.P and Anna Brygård from The Nightflight Orchestra.“
Furthermore, this song in particular is a very special piece of music for guitarist and singer Micke Holm, as the band reveals: “Under My Skin is a very personal song to Micke. It’s about him battling with depression and suicidal anxiety for many years. And it’s also a reminder to all you who have anxiety or know someone who has, that you’re not alone! We are all brothers and sisters battling the same war!“
Formed in 2017, S.O.R.M quickly made a name for themselves with their hook-laden EP “Hellraiser” (2020). With influences ranging from Grand Magus to Ghost and Judas Priest, S.O.R.M has carved out a unique sound that appeals to a wide heavy music audience. The band, consisting of Micke Holm on guitar and vocals, Johan Östman on bass, and Robin Wernebratt on drums, signed with Noble Demon in 2020 and released their debut full-length record in August 2023. Tracks like “I Die For My Rock N Roll” (feat. Dee Snider guitarist Nick Petrino) and “Crazy” have already garnered attention from fans and critics alike and with their latest single featuring Doug Blair of W.A.S.P, the band continues to set the bar high – in S.O.R.M style!
