THE HU Reveal Animated Music Video for ‘Sell The World’

Globally lauded Mongolian rock sensation and UNESCO 2023 “Artist of Peace” designees THE HU have shared their first-ever animated music video for the deeply moving, environmentally conscious song “Sell The World.” It is featured on their sophomore 2022 album RUMBLE OF THUNDER and its deluxe version, released earlier this year via Better Noise Music.   The compelling animated video depicts environmental villains taking nature’s limited resources for granted and ruining the planet for generations to come. Watch it streaming via YouTube HERE.

“The ‘Sell the World’ music video is the first-ever animated music video from The HU,” shares THE HU’s producer DASHKA. “It’s our way of expressing the love we have for our earth. From the name of the song to the content of the video, we use sarcasm and exaggeration to show the unpleasantness of the world. It was easier to use the graphics and 3Ds to create visuals for the exaggerated message that the song has in its lyrics. Throughout past albums, The HU’s songs positively reinforce the message of protecting the earth and keeping nature intact. However, on this video we took a completely different, polar opposite approach to the song’s message by reminding listeners of the limited resources of this earth. The female in the video represents the mother earth we are singing about.”

RUMBLE OF THUNDER: DELUXE VERSION is available now via digital download or on cd, cassette and various special edition vinyl offerings at: https://thehu.ffm.to/rumblethunderdeluxe. The extended album includes seven new tracks including four acoustic songs and three newly recorded singles featuring guest musicians including William Duvall (Alice In Chains), Serj Tankian, DL (Bad Wolves) and LP.

In coordination with the “Sell The World” video debut, THE HU have today (October 3) announced the support acts—Finnish nu-metal group Blind Channel and California-based rockers NERV—for their upcoming headlining U.S. “Warrior Souls” West Coast tour. The “Warrior Souls” tour kicks off on October 9 in San Francisco, CA and wraps October 26 in Phoenix, AZ. Currently, THE HU are on the last leg of their co-headlining “Psycho Thunder” U.S. tour with Asking Alexandria and will appear this weekend at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA. Upcoming dates can be found listed below. For tickets and limited VIP upgrades, please visit: https://www.thehuofficial.com/tour-1.

To date, THE HU have amassed over 329 million combined streams across digital platforms, 290 million video views, two Top 5 Mainstream Rock charting radio singles and a RIAA Gold Certification for 2019’s groundbreaking viral single, “Wolf Totem”. The band have sold-out worldwide headlining tours and appeared at the world’s biggest music festivals (Download, Coachella, Lollapalooza) all while receiving critical acclaim from the likes of NPR, GQ, The Guardian, The Independent, Revolver and Billboard, along with garnering a celebrity fanbase including Sir Elton John, Whoopi Goldberg and Wayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Founded in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, THE HU are a modern rock group rooted in the tradition of their homeland. The band’s name translates to the Mongolian root word for “human being,” and their unique approach blends traditional Mongolian instruments land throat singing with contemporary sounds, creating a unique sonic profile that they call “Hunnu Rock.” They received the highest state award in Mongolia, the Order of Genghis Khan from the President of Mongolia, Kh. Battulga in 2020, for their achievements.

THE HU have released collaborations with Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, William DuVall of Alice In Chains, Serj Tankian, LP and DL of Bad Wolves and their music has been featured on Metallica’s Blacklist covers album alongside other high-profile guest artists like Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, Phoebe Bridgers, J Balvin, St. Vincent and more. They’ve also been featured in EA Games’ Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its official soundtrack as well as seen on screen in Better Noise Films’ horror-thriller The Retaliators and included on The Retaliators Official Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Rising from the ashes, THE GEMS redefine the very essence of rock music with their upcoming debut album, Phoenix, out January 26, 2024 via Napalm Records! With unwavering determination and raw talent, this trio hailing from Stockholm, Sweden is ready to rewrite the rules and inspire a new era. Today, the trio reveal their second single, “Send Me To The Wolves”! Their first ever single, “Like A Phoenix”, released in June 2023, isn’t just a song title; it’s a prophecy, a prediction, and a promise. Straight away it gained a remarkable amount of Spotify streams and YouTube video views, and reached #2 on rock radio airplay charts in Germany in no time.

The explosive trio consists of incomparable rock vocalist Guernica Mancini, powerhouse drummer Emlee Johansson, and guitar and bass virtuoso Mona “Demona” Lindgren. Breaking free from the confines of their previous band, Thundermother, they unite under the banner of THE GEMS in early 2023, igniting a seismic shift in the rock scene. Inspired by legends such as Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden, THE GEMS breathe new life into the genre, infusing it with raw power and untamed energy.

With Thundermother, they commanded international stages – electrifying crowds at renowned rock festivals like Wacken, Sweden Rock, and Alcatraz, while supporting legendary acts such as the Scorpions. Three highly acclaimed albums further solidified their place in rock history, with their highest chart entry reaching an impressive #6 with the last two albums on the Official German Album Charts, as well as #2 on the German Airplay Single Charts. Witness the birth of a rock revolution as THE GEMS take center stage, ready to unleash a storm of pure sonic brilliance. Check out the official music video for “Send Me To The Wolves” below – the rock business will never be the same again!

THE GEMS on “Send Me To The Wolves”:
“‘Send Me to the Wolves’ is all about overcoming and fighting back, not letting bullies control the narrative. This empowering track is the perfect mix between groovy 70s rock vibes and our modern sound. It is also the first song we wrote together for THE GEMS and we love it so much!”

THE GEMS on Phoenix:
“Phoenix marks the beginning, the rise of THE GEMS. This album takes you on a journey through one of our toughest times. Through this creative process we were able to really dig deep and let go of a lot of emotional baggage, and find true happiness in music again. The new found freedom our band has been given us shines through on this album. We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished, and the true Rock n Roll Sisterhood and community we’ve built through these few months of our existence. Phoenix is the perfect album for anyone going through a tough time, having the rug pulled out under you and somehow finding the strength to rebuild. You’ll get the full range of emotions, masterfully produced by our dear friend Johan Randén, who we also wrote some of the songs with.

We hope people will love Phoenix and really enjoy the epic ride this album will take you on.”

Tracklist Phoenix:
1          Aurora – Interlude
2          Queens
3          Send Me To The Wolves
4          Domino
5          Silver Tongue
6          Undiscovered Paths
7          Maria’s Song – Interlude
8          Ease Your Pain
9          Running
10        Renaissance – Interlude
11        Like A Phoenix
12        P.S.Y.C.H.O
13        Kiss it Goodbye
14        Force Of Nature
15        Fruits Of My Labor
16        Like A Phoenix – Acoustic Version

Captivating, chanting intro track “Aurora” allows vocalist Guernica Mancini’s distinctive, strong and bluesy vocals shine, and sets the scene before the catchy rock’n’roll anthem “Queens” roars as a celebration of feminine power. Standing up for oneself, fighting back and rising above are some of the main lyrical themes of Phoenix, which “Send Me To The Wolves” is an outstanding example of. The song’s storyline champions overcoming and not giving in to oppressors, before “Domino” takes THE GEMS’ grooviness to the level of legendary classic rock bands of the 70s. With emotional tracks like “Undiscovered Paths” and “Fruits Of My Labor”, THE GEMS bring significant depth and variety to the album, distancing themselves from their history. Stunning interlude “Maria’s Song”, featuring violinist Maria Jern, fades into the touching ballad “Ease Your Pain” – giving extra space to the exceptional guitar work of Mona “Demona” Lindgren. Following track “Running” shines as a surefire future hit with more impressive guitar work and Emlee Johansson’s hard hitting drums, before the beautifully stripped down acoustic version of “Like A Phoenix” – backed with acoustic guitar by producer Johan Randén – wraps up THE GEMS’ debut album. Phoenix was mastered by Plec Johannsons (Soilwork, Hank von Hell, Firewind) and its artwork was created by ex-Thundermother member Giorgia Carteri (Soilwork, The Nightflight Orchestra).

It is clear that the seasoned musicians of THE GEMS won’t settle in the shadows of their prior successes. With their fresh, convincing debut offering, THE GEMS take a stand and leave the past behind. Make no mistake – with Phoenix, THE GEMS will conquer the international rock scene in a heartbeat.

Emlee Johansson – Drums

DREAM DROP to Release New Album “Acne Superstar” on December 8th

Alternative metal band based in Gothenburg DREAM DROP, has truly come out on top since the live scene made a comeback after the pandemic restrictions. The band has previously been on tour with Blood Command, Smash Into Pieces and STARSET and now they are preparing for an autumn filled with new gigs. With a constant presence on social media, and a close contact with their own community, the band shows a clear creative thinking that is required to get the attention of the outside world.

Recording an album is a complex process, something Dream Drop quickly realized. The band headed to a remote mountain cabin in Norway with a mission to complete their second studio album. When they returned home, they realized that the album had not reached its full potential.

“We had been debating which direction to take and were thinking about exploring different genres even more than on our first record. But then we suddenly realized that the real challenge this time might be to create something that felt more coherent and unified sonically.” – Dream Drop

Therefore, the band decided to scrap half of the album and start from scratch. During a month-long tour filled with new experiences and inspiration, the band found a new creative spark. When the tour came to an end, it only took one week to complete the rest of the album, which will be released to the public on December 8th, 2023.

GENUS ORDINIS DEI Reveal ‘Genesis’ Music Video

Ground-breaking symphonic death metal band GENUS ORDINIS DEI (Milan, Italy) just revealed another new music video and single entitled “Genesis”. This is the second video episode and single from the band’s upcoming full-length concept album The Beginning which is scheduled to be released on December 8, 2023 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Tommaso Monticelli at Sonitus Studio in Crema, Italy. The video series was directed by Genus Ordinis Dei, and filmed by Steve Saints.

Watch “Genesis” (Episode 2) right now, below.

“Genesis” is the second episode of The Beginning, introduces us to a new character, The Fallen, who teaches the Brother and Sister, a new truth. Symbolically, the water is a live being, representing a cascade of danger and fortune in the waterfall, and our tragic tendencies to follow false Gods, as The Sister lovingly caresses the reptilian skin of the river. Musically, hope and fear make our hearts race as the band takes us to a dangerous place where both emotions become one.

“Shooting this video near the Valbondione Waterfall and at Fedaia Lake was the most physically difficult (and complicated) experience of the entire work.” says guitarist & producer Tommy Monticelli. “The strong winds and low temperatures made the day very difficult for everyone involved. The actors were practically naked in their primitive costumes, and their ability to focus on the script was very low. Furthermore, the mist from the waterfall was constantly getting the camera lenses wet and it was impossible to shoot at certain angles and distances. Many scenes could only be shot in “one take”, and the tension level was high and we were all stressed out. In short, it was a real challenge. I remember on several occasions; we were reviewing footage during playback and Nick was shaking from the cold while the freezing mud ran down his body. Of course, all this happening to him made his performance even more credible. Do you want to know if we won this challenge? Watch the video to find out!”

The Beginning is the fourth studio album from symphonic death metal band Genus Ordinis Dei, which redefines the way we listen to music and process cinematic theater. In simpler terms, the final product is an exceptional twelve-track album and a stunning set of representative videos called “Episodes,” that directly address the way we use our senses. Interspliced in a clever foreshadowing technique, are images of blood pouring over a stone, advancing like the crooked fingers of some skeletal miscreant, and when the Brother character starts singing, we are startled into the recognition that this is not merely some standard high-quality film, but the vibrant offspring we get from a brilliant, well-produced metal album. Symbolically, the parallel is clear. We are watching exquisite savages at the dawn of existence, who are shockingly similar to us in terms of their passion, physicality, and natural tendencies toward glorified violence. More thematically, Genus Ordinis Dei shows us quite clearly that brutality is the lifeblood of society, as we still so ironically fool ourselves with carefully crafted social constructs. The Beginning is not just music. It is an experience. A red dawn. An awakening.

KALT VINDUR to Release Third Album “Magna Mater” on January 26th, 2024

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 3, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: KALT VINDUR. Leave a comment

KALT VINDUR was established in the spring of 2015 in Dukla, Poland. After personnel changes in the line-up of Artur (Svart) on guitar, Julian (Xakhariash) on drums, Szymon (S) on bass guitar, Wojciech (Celsus) on vocals, the band recorded their first album entitled “Delusions” (2017) where keyboard & synth was recorded by U. Reck from legendary Lux Occulta.

In 2020, the second album “And Nothing Is Endless” was released on tape & CD by Witching Hour Productions (Batushka, Vader). On this record band consistently developed their own style called “subcarpathian black metal”.

In 2022, the band recorded the material for their third album entitled “Magna Mater“. The drum recordings for the new album were made by new talented drummer Rafał Chruścicki (ex-Pandrador). The band’s style has also evolved this time, making it the most mature work with some surprising changes, but at the same time a multidimensional and coherent album.

Music for new album was recorded at Regnat Studio (Dargor, Krusher) in Cieklin (PL). Mix & mastering was done by Krzysztof Kokosiński. Cover artwork and layout by Maciej Kamuda (Blut Aus Nord, Spaceslug, Sunnata).

“Magna Mater” will be released on tape, CD and winyl on January 26, 2024 by Greek label The Circle Music. Pre-order is available here.

Tracklist:

  1. Magna Mater
  2. Żywioły
  3. Agonizing Luminosity
  4. Bless Us
  5. Possessed By Lunacy
  6. Visions Of Purification
  7. Mist Over Cergova

Guests:

  • keyboard by Marek from mysterious band MYSTHICON in song “Mist Over Cergova”
  • drums by Julian Zacharjasz from thrash metal band INTERCEPTOR in song “Mist Over Cergova”
  • keyboard by Krzysztof Kokosiński in songs “Visions Of Puryfication” and “Magna Mater”
  • drums by Andrzej Czujko from tech death metal KARPATHIAN RELICT in “Possessed By Lunacy”

Band already released two songs from upcoming record which you can watch&hear below.

Celsus, described the track: “Żywioły is a nod to our ancestors, whose deeds, lives and desires are reflected in each of the evoked title elements. Your relationship to spirituality, religion, etc. is not important. The energy of your predecessors is still present, even though their bodies have long since crumbled into dust.  This energy drives our lives today, just as our energy will go back to the next generations.”

Svart comments song: “Bless Us is a good preview of the music contained on ‘Magna Mater’, which is a mixture of atmospheric and progressive black metal. The album consists of seven compositions including one instrumental, different from the rest of the album.“
