Fitting for their 30th birthday German thrashers HEADSHOT release “…Makes Us Survive!”, an official anniversary album! For this purpose, the best songs from their first two albums were completely re-recorded and produced by Jost Schlüter at PureSonic Studio.
The album, which is also subtitled “30 Years In Metal”, will be released on November 23rd on MDD Records and contains 10 tracks + intro/outro.
“Headshot … Makes Us Survive” is by the way the chorus of the opener “Day Of The Dead” from the 1996 debut, which will of course also be on the album. You can expect a great Thrash Metal album on which the songs from “Brain At Risk” (1995) and “Emotional Overload” (1998) are presented for the first time by frontwoman Daniela Karrer, who as you know only joined the band in 2008, in a contemporary sound. A first look at the cover artwork is attached. The anniversary and release party will take place on November 25th with Warpath as special guest in Braunschweig. Be prepared – more info soon!

Finnish black metal band Verilehto is set to release their debut album “Kuoleman Siipien Havina” on November 10th 2023 via Inverse Records. The first and only single “Alla Tähtitaivaan” is released today along with music video which can be seen below.
The band comments: “Picking up the single from the record was both hard and easy, every song is strong at its own, but Alla Tähtitaivaan ended up being most versatile to show what to expect from the record. The lyrical content is about old tales / folklore of northern lights, how fallen warriors’ spirits lived in those lights – trying to lure people to join them.”
LISTEN Alla Tähtitaivaan single on streaming services, here. Single cover by Verilehto.
Verilehto was formed in 2017 by Janne Tuikkala (Dawn of Everwinter, Muria, Alpha Noir, ex-Warceremony and ex-Strange Aeon) with ambition to write and record atmospheric, melodic, yet heavy black metal sung in Finnish. After showing few song ideas to Janne Partanen (Hautajaisyö, Alfa Pentatonik, Marraskuun Lapset, Paavalin Harhat and many others), they agreed to do a record together.
Few song ideas (oldest ones from 2001) led to first full album “Kuoleman Siipien Havina”.
The debut album consist from seven songs (intro + six songs), which are quite versatile compared to each other, yet still having a same mood to them. Melodic black metal layered with acoustic guitars and even additional drone synths.
All the music was recorded by Janne Tuikkala at his j.sound home studio during 10/2022 – 5/2023 and Janne Partanen recorded his vocals at Hautajaisyö headquarters during spring of 2023. Once vocals were finished Tuikkala mixed and mastered the record at j.sound.

Italian modern metallers NO ONE CARES unveil the lyric video for the new single “Negativity”, taken from the EP “Pause/Reboot” out now via Quarock Records.
The band comments: “‘Negativity’ is a song which represents the feelings we have when we feel a bit depressed. How this feeling burns from within and spreads like a cancer. Sometimes we feel as if this inner malaise is on an endless loop, as if it’s something that we can get around, but can’t possibly avoid… because no matter what, we’ll still inevitably fall for it and we’ll never get out of it. But we still must never lose hope of returning to serenity’.
The video was shot by Lorenzo ‘Bug’ Meoni (Imago Media): “With the video of ‘Negativity’ I wanted to emphasise the negative force expressed in the lyrics, representing a continuous inner struggle symbolised by monsters and demons, with a protagonist who, due to continuous falls into the vortex of negativity, eventually perishes, after having for a moment tasted the illusion of an apparent serenity.“
“Pause/Reboot” represents a true rebirth for NO ONE CARES. Several line-up changes and the pandemic forced the band to take a break, despite the endless desire to create, produce and look ahead. But the time has finally come to rise up again like a phoenix, and the “Pause/Reboot” EP stands for this.
Elaborating new sounds and focusing on new writing and arrangement dynamics under the supervision and artistic production of Gabriele Bellini, they produced an EP which is a kind of new discovery for NO ONE CARES. The album was edited, mixed and mastered by Giacomo “Jac” Salani at La Fucina Studio in Florence, Italy.
NO ONE CARES were born in 2012 playing a powerful and personal mix of nu metal and metalcore, in a surprising combination of Crossover Metal. The band from Tuscany made their debut in 2014, with two of their own unreleased tracks for the compilation “Underworld Collection – Invasion” (QuaRock Records), and the following year they released their first album “Dirty”, an explosive record which confirmed N.O.C. as one the best new Italian acts in crossover metal, gaining excellent critical acclaim especially thanks to their live shows.
NO ONE CARES are: ANDREA GORINI – guitars ELENA GIRALDI – drums MASSIMO CIACCIA – bass TOMMASO PESCAGLINI – vocals
Lethal Scissor Records is proud to welcome TWEEDLEDEAD to the label’s roster.
TWEEDLEDEAD is a new extreme metal entity from Italy. Intertwining elements from a vast swath of extreme music genres, from death metal, grindcore to black metal, and everything in between, the project masterfully crafts an eclectic sound that breaks down many generic barriers or borders.
TWEEDLEDEAD‘s debut album, “Infernotes”, will be released on November 22nd 2023 via Lethal Scissor Records.
The first single, “Remains“, is now streaming at THIS LOCATION.
With a musical background dating back to the 90’s and with musical experiences in both death and black metal bands (Sepolcral, Misos), TWEEDLEDEAD is a very conceptual project and which exists within its own universe. TWEEDLEADED expresses himself in a multi-faceted manner, but above all close to his lyrical and conceptual ideas. It is a story, a vision with an analytical eye towards the current social drift and the decline of modern civilisation, which has roots in ancient times. The dynamic sound, a striking as well as glowing amalgam of everything extreme, is explored in very contrasting and distinct ways. The music is both a study of the intricacies of extreme metal as well as an exploration in how far certain typical elements can be stretched and pushed in new directions.

ON THORNS I LAY are perennial doomsayers. For 20+ years, these Greek titans have been crafting immense tales of loss and despair. But on the new single off their upcoming album, they warn of a fast-approaching apocalypse that’s so powerful, it might be too late for us to escape.
Watch the beautiful and barren video for “Thorns of Fire” on our YouTube Channel.
“Thorns of Fire” is the grand finale on the band’s upcoming self-titled album. So it’s fitting that the song leaves us with a dark and doomy depiction of our final days. Cymbals crash with the impending force of rising tides, while the riffs fall like acid rain, leaving no choice but to bang our heads as we face our inevitable demise.
“‘Thorns of Fire’ is about the crimes humanity has committed against the seed of life”. says On Thorns I Lay.
Halfway through its near eight-minute runtime, “Thorns of Fire” simmers into a somber instrumental interlude. Ominous flute swirls amidst somber pricks of Christos Dragamestianos’ tamboura, only for vocalist Peter Miliadis to swallow the near silence with his unholy inferno of a death growl.
“We humans defy the ways and laws of Nature,” the band says, “but we will not escape from its wrath and revenge!”

OMNIUM GATHERUM has released their newest visual offering for the song “Lovelorn”. This anthem and the whole EP can be streamed now HERE; the video (produced once again by Janne Tamminen –xarena.tv/music) made with game-engine software Unreal Engine 5 can be viewed below.
Jukka Pelkonen (vocals) comments: “With Lovelorn one tale ends and another one begins. Despite the fact that we will be touring to bring you guys music we love to be experienced live, our brains and spirits are summoning fresh meat from the highs and depths of the OG realm. New musical adventures await us all and we will be taking all of you on a high-speed ride to the streets fierce and unknown! “
Markus Vanhala (guitars and clean vocals) adds: “”Lovelorn” is gothic flirtatious death metal ballad, which closes the Slasher EP cycle being the last nail in this releases coffin before the autumnal burials. By an accident and giving a bit more emotional or atmospheric side of OG, it’s a great pathway to the soon starting European tour where we are heading together with Paradise Lost, Primordial and Harakiri For The Sky – festival tour called ‘Ultima Ratio’, which we of course are looking forward to see all of you our great people. The video is filmed, edited, and visualized by our friend Janne Tamminen / Xarena from California. This time the project was quite special, as all band members weren’t even on the same continent, let alone nobody played at the same time. Back to the future and back indeed with Mr. Tamminen with his tricks and traps!”
OMNIUM GATHERUM also joins PARADISE LOST and fantastic line-up on a high-energy journey across Europe this week! Have a short impression of what to expect HERE! See below for all dates!
