After releasing their latest, full length album ‘Shiki’ in 2022 and now their new live album ‘Live: Eastern Forces of Evil 2022’, now SIGH will be bringing their signature brand of Metal to the masses across Europe and the UK this autumn.

This will be a headline tour for Sigh and features Laster as special guests throughout the tour as well. The tour will be both a celebration of the 30th anniversary of  the band’s debut album ‘Scorn Defeat’ but will also see the band performing material off their new album ‘Shiki’.

This will also be the first to run feature their new guitarist Nozomu and promises to be one for the ages.

Mirai elaborates on the tour below:

“Although we played in Europe here and there, it’s been a while since we actually “toured” there. We really cannot wait to be on the road again. This tour includes Poland where we have never played before. Also it’s been almost 30 years since we played in Ireland last time!

This tour is not only to support the latest album “Shiki” out on Peaceville last year but to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our debut album “Scorn Defeat”. With the new guitarist, Nozomu, on board, I can assure that Sigh has by far the strongest line-up ever. Don’t miss The Eastern Forces of Evil!”

ARMORED DAWN Surprise with New Single ‘Brand New Way’

Brazilian band ARMORED DAWN released their newest single “Brand New Way”, the title track for their forthcoming fourth album, which will be released in the second half of 2023. Different from the heavy theme of the last singles, “S.O.S.” and “Tides”, “Brand New Way” brings a more optimistic view of life, of how we shouldn’t let ourselves be overwhelmed by defeats or by those who want to bring us down, as there is always a new beginning and a new path to follow.

As with the previous singles, “Brand New Way” was mixed by CHRIS LORD ALGE (MUSE, GREEN DAY, NICKELBACK) and mastered by TED JENSEN (BRING ME THE HORIZON,  EVANESCENCE,  METALLICA), and again shows a great evolution in the band’s sound. The music brings the characteristic identity that marks ARMORED DAWN’s sound, expands horizons and surprises those who still don’t know the band’s music.

As is Armored Dawn’s tradition, the new single also features a super-produced music video, directed by Rafael Agostino, also the band’s keyboardist. The current lineup features Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura, and Timo Kaarkoski (guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino (keyboards) and Chris Oliveira (drums).

Armored Dawn emerged in 2014 and became relevant in the Brazilian metal scene. After all, they played tours and shows alongside great bands like Saxon, Megadeth, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Europe, Hammerfall, Rhapsody, Fates Warning, Sabaton and Tarja.

The first two albums Power of Warrior (2016) and Barbarians in Black (2018), were produced by great names like Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Jorn), Bruno Agra (We Are Harlot) and Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach).
The third album, Viking Zombie, was produced, mixed and mastered by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench, the latter a veteran producer with over 200 bands under his belt and a Latin Grammy.

Featuring a sophisticated and versatile metal, the band collects great works in videos, such as “Sail Away”, which had a cinematic production, as well as “Beware of the Dragon”, shown in all movie theaters in Brazil during the trailers for the movie Aquaman, in 2018. “Ragnarok” and “Animal Uncaged” (recorded at the Rockfest festival, at Allianz Parque, São Paulo, when they played for around 37,000 people) add up to millions of views on YouTube.

During the pandemic, they released the single “Stronger Together”, which was very well accepted by the public.

Then, already preparing the ground for the forthcoming fourth album, “Brand New Way”, they released the singles “S.O.S.” which featured an amazing music video, and the heavy and melancholy “Tides”.

Recorded at Dharma Studios, mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica), the album will be released later this year.

CAVO Release New EP “Covers Vol. 1” + Video for ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’

CAVO released their new Covers Vol. 1 EP to all major platforms via TLG/INgrooves on August 4, 2023.

In celebration of Covers Vol. 1, the band released a new music video for the song “Don’t Dream It’s Over.”

When asked about “Don’t Dream It’s Over”, Chris Hobbs says, “I’ve always loved this song! I remember hearing it in one the opening scenes of Stephen Kings The Stand tv series as kid and being captivated. It’s beautiful sounding yet haunting and sad at the same time. I’ve always had it in my head to cover it. Not to change it up or do a different take of it. Wanted to keep to the feel I fell in love with all those years ago.”

Tracklisting:

  1. Synchronicity II
  2. Drive – Cavo
  3. Bizarre Love Triangle – Cavo
  4. Don’t Dream It’s Over – Cavo

The creative force of Rock/Alternative from St. Louis is still creating and releasing new music. Humble beginnings to major label success to where they are now seems like a whirlwind but a lot of bands find themselves in these spaces. Bassist Brian Smith says “We are still a band releasing music we want to release and we hope people dig what we are doing”. Drummer Andy Herrin adds, “Every EP or record we do won’t be like one previously released and we have a lot of music to share and create.” “The great thing about the four of us in Cavo is that we’ve always been fully committed to this band,” explains bassist Brian Smith. “Even if we haven’t been in a spotlight for a bit and we have other projects going on, our bond is as tight as ever, and we’ve never stopped releasing music. We love writing together, playing together and just being together as friends, and that’s why we’ve been able to keep going together as long as we have.”

Cavo has teamed up with independent distributor TLG/INgrooves to expose all of these new crafted songs to a broader global audience. The band has released several songs from the first of 6 planned EPs, 3 original and 3 cover EPs. The first original EP is titled The Shakes with songs “Not Over You”, “Dizzy” and the self-titled track “The Shakes” being released on September 1st and “Synchronicity II” and “Drive” from the bands CAVO Covers vol.1. to be released on August 4th. Casey states “We are almost finished with our second original EP and after that we start work on the second covers EP.” “It’s just a really cool creative thing we have here and we are really excited to share what we are doing with everyone,” adds Chris.

It’s safe to say the CAVO boys are simply writing and recording new material and plan to release tons of new music in 2023 and for unforeseeable future!

Southern Californian melodic death shredders EXMORTUS have revealed the final single, ‘Storm Of Strings,’ ahead of the highly anticipated release of their 6th studio album, Necrophony, that’s out August 25th from Nuclear Blast Records. On their latest song, EXMORTUS puts their signature shred into a cover of legendary new age artist Yanni’s song ‘The Storm,’ which was based off of the great Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi’s concertos ‘The Four Seasons.’

Commenting on the single, guitarist/vocalist Conan says:
“We’ve been meaning to cover this piece for a long time and now it feels right for Necrophony. Honoring two artists at once, we give you a heavy metal shred version of Yanni’s arrangement of Vivaldi’s Summer Concerto. Enjoy the groove, enjoy the passion!”

CRYPTOPSY Reveal Vile New Single/Video ‘Flayed The Swine’

Canadian extreme-metal legends CRYPTOPSY have revealed their depraved, merciless new single, ‘Flayed The Swine,’ today! Found on the band’s first full-length album in over a decade, As Gomorrah Burns, that’s out September 8th from Nuclear Blast Records, the influential death-dealers’ latest single, ‘Flayed The Swine,’ is an accessible yet face-melting track that takes listeners down a dark and demented path to madness. In true CRYPTOPSY fashion, the track is accompanied by a horrific, blood-soaked video that will only fuel viewers’ nightmares.

Commenting on the new single, vocalist Matt McGachy says:
“‘Flayed the Swine’ is one of the catchiest Cryptopsy songs I have ever written. It is brutal, filled with massive groove sections and extremely vulgar. Lyrically, it concentrates on a mental breakdown, an utter loss of control. We all have dark intentions, but we rarely act upon them. The protagonist by the end of the track most certainly wishes they hadn’t.”

VOYAGER have come a long way. The band just released their breakthrough album ‘Fearless in Love’, but they first formed back in 1999, when Daniel Estrin was studying at the University of Western Australia.

Different members have come in and out of the Voyager orbit. But by 2014, when ‘V’ came around, the lineup that would launch the progressive pop metal band all the way to Eurovision had locked into place.

Ashley Doodkorte has always been the one behind Voyager’s covert art, but this is their first album that features him on drums. You can feel his impact right from the jump. “Hyperventilating” tumbles through an asteroid field full of metallic riffage and proggy bass bends. When the chorus hits, the band shoot straight for pop stardom.

Today, Voyager are reissuing ‘V’ on CD. The new version includes two live bonus tracks. Order it from our online store HERE.
