Human Scum, have you received your 5G chip implan-…we mean ‘vaccine’ yet? Now that you’ve gotten your shot in the arm, GWAR will give you a shot in the mouth (of spew) this fall as they return to the road in North America. The first part of the “Scumdogs 30th Anniversary Tour” will kick off September 16th with a show in the band’s adopted hometown of Richmond, VA and will run through September 19th in Pittsburgh, PA and also includes a stop at RiotFest. This tour will see GWAR playing the Scumdogs of the Universe record in its entirety. Support on the headline shows will come from Madball and Eyehategod. The band then returns to the road October 28th in Norfolk, VA and will crisscross this mudball planet through December 13th in Washington, DC. Support will come from the legendary Napalm Death and again Eyehategod. GWAR will also make an appearance at this year’s “Welcome to Rockville” festival. A complete list of tour dates can be found below. Pre-sales start tomorrow June 17th and the general on-sale is this Friday June 18th. Watch a tour announcement from the band here:

“We’ve been saving it up, and we are ready to explode all over the face of this nation with a dazzling flood of chaotic shock rock load. But don’t even try to come to a show on this tour unless you are unvaccinated, covid positive and willing to submit to an enthusiastic rectal temperature check at the hands of our degenerate road crew,” says lead throat thing The Berserker Blóthar

GWAR‘s latest release, The Disc With No Name EP, is completely sold out, so you’re fucked, but don’t fret, you can still hear it online at: spotify.com

LEPROUS Announce New Studio Album ‘Aphelion’

Creative Norwegian Rock outfit LEPROUS have announced the release of their new studio album “Aphelion”, coming August 27th, 2021 worldwide.

Following up on 2019’s highly acclaimed “Pitfalls” album, LEPROUS recorded “Aphelion” throughout the last year at three different studios: Ghost Ward Studios in Sweden, Ocean Sound Recordings in Norway and Cederberg Studios in Norway. The album was once again mixed by Adam Noble (Placebo, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves, etc.), mastered by Robin Schmidt (The 1975, Placebo, The Gaslight Anthem, etc.) with its front cover artwork – designed by Elena Sigida, based on photography by Øystein Aspelund.

LEPROUS vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg checked in about “Aphelion” as follows:

“We had no plans to start with a new album, then came Covid. “Aphelion” is a very different album. It’s intuitive and spontaneous. We’ve experimented with many completely different ways of writing music and explored new ways to work. There has been no room for overthinking, exaggerated perfectionism or carefully planned songs. I believe this is one of the strengths of this album. It feels alive, it feels free and it does not come across as too calculated.

Look out for the album pre-order to start on June 25th, 2021, enhanced by the release of a new single!

Italy’s doom metal heavyweights BOTTOMLESS are about to get set for the release of their highly anticipated debut album, out on July 16th via Spikerot Records! Featuring members of well known acts like Messa, Assumption and more, BOTTOMLESS are by far no strangers to the scene. Consisting of 10 tracks, the band’s self-titled release is exactly what you would expect to get from the experienced three piece – nothing but unadulterated doom metal straight in the vein of the ancient masters Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, Pentagram, Trouble and The Obsessed!

After the previously- released track “Centuries Asleep”, the band just shared the second single taken off the upcoming album. Listen to “Ash” here:

“Once upon a time Tony Iommi and his three apostles cometh down to earth to grant us the power of darkness and the riff, so at this point we’re nothing but shadows dwelling under his iron sky. This earth will some day become a pile of ash and burning matter and this song is the soundtrack to the final chapter. Living backwards is the only way to save ourselves.” BOTTOMLESS states.

Tracklist:

  1. Monastery
  2. Centuries Asleep
  3. Bottomless
  4. The Talking Mask
  5. Ash
  6. Losing Shape
  7. Loveless Reign

BLOOD OF ANGELS New Official Video ‘Monotheism’ Pays A Family Tribute

The new video by US group BLOOD OF ANGELS is upon us in the form of Monotheism, the 2nd track from the excellent album The Failure Of Faith, released last year via Sliptrick Records. Here’s what the band had to say; “This is a video for our single Monotheism. More than just a music video. It is also a tribute to our Blood Of Angels family, and our Tampa, Florida metal scene that we love and hold dear. We hope you enjoy our video, and a look into our home.”

Don’t forget, you can see Blood Of Angels on their 16 date US Tour in August. Check out all the dates …here

Failure Of Faith is a concept album that explores the evolution of the three main global religions of the world. The first half of the album looks at the development of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. How those three religions began to carve up and dominate the world. The second half of the album shows how those three faiths have led humanity down a path of division and self-destruction. Read more …here

THE STONE EYE Release New Single + Video “Witches & Raptures”, New Album Drops October 15th

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 16, 2021

What if Frank Zappa and Kurt Cobain secretly wrote songs for Queens of the Stone Age and Alice In Chains? We don’t have the answer to this mysterious question, but maybe (just maybe) THE STONE EYE can answer it for us…

Philadelphia sludge rockers The Stone Eye have revealed a new music video and single for the song “Witches & Raptures“. The video was directed by Stephen Burdick. Watch it right now at this location. “Witches & Raptures” is the first single from the band’s sixth full-length album South Of The Sun which is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 15, 2021 via Eclipse Records.

“In a nutshell, Witches & Raptures can best be described as a song about feeling trapped in the greater picture of everything around you” says lead vocalist & guitarist Stephen Burdick. “Does that meaning come through in the video? Maybe… who knows! We picked the song as a single because we felt as though it was one of the most interesting pieces of music we have written thus far, whilst also retaining an element of pop-sensibility amidst the abnormal structure and harmonies. It is weird, but it’s catchy. When it came to working on the video, we sought out weirdness. Film some footage of us rehearsing, some footage of us being hooligans in front of the green screen and go to town in post-production!”

The new record, titled South of the Sun, is one of those gems that is familiar somehow, yet takes the listener on a journey mapped out in new pathways. Heavy with a layer of glorious weirdness, this album combines a raucous, dirty guitar sound with clever musicianship … vocals that are as hypnotic in harmony as they are diverse in range, and a rhythm section as daring as it is ornate and, at times, funk-a-licious. With thirteen mesmerizing songs altogether, the singles from the album certainly showcase the wide range of influences upon the band’s writing. For the first single “Witches & Raptures“, the band sings about being trapped in the big picture of the world around us and how servants eventually are consumed by their social masters after they have served their purpose. The second single “Catatonia” is more of an exercise in meditative songwriting designed to just lose the listener in the lyrics which represent such philosophical questions such as ‘who’s out there, what’s there?’.  The third single “Aleutian Summer” can be best described as a scene out of The Shining, going stir-crazy because you’re figuratively trapped in the middle of God knows where. They are soulful songs, and in their own way erotic, both perfect for rock, alternative, stoner, and even metal radio playlists as fuzzy stoner sludge wrapped up in a progressive, pop metal take on the rock genre.
