Polish RISEUP Release New Music Video And Single “Jim B”

Polish death-groove metal band RISEUP have revealed a new music video for the single “Jim B” which pays tribute to their favorite beverage, Jim Beam bourbon whiskey. The music video was directed by Marcin Szaraniec from Bridge To Horizon. Watch it right now!

“Jim B” is the first single from the band’s debut full-length album Destructive Machine’s Chilling Time 3:27 which was produced by Arkadiusz Dzierżawa (Sandbreaker, Mors, Carura) at Lighthouse Audio. The album is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 6, 2021 via Eclipse Records. Pre-order or pre-save the album here.

“We shot the video in our rehearsal room which is an old basement from the XVIII century that also became our secret party location” says vocalist Stanek. “After practice, we often chill out, stay late and there’s always a bottle (or two) or Jim Beam bourbon. We actually talk about the bottle as a friend of the band using words like he and him, it’s just one of those fun things we do.” Guitarist Krzystala adds, “Sometimes Jim is a villain, sometimes he is a savior, sometimes he can make toy a genius, and on the flip side he can turn you into a complete idiot… it all depends on the mood you’re in and the quantity you drink. We also wanted to pay respect to this famous liquor and its history by writing a song about it!“

Destructive Machine’s Chilling Time 3:27 by RiseuP is an album that rocks the listener straight to the core. The first single “Jim B” offers the hooky chorus “Drink, drink, drink!” however, it also tells us that alcohol makes false heroes who overrate their own abilities. The second single “Prophecy” with its addictive crunch and pleasing guitar tremolo, alludes to scripture and our misinterpretation of both testaments, leading us to hypocrisy and fear as opposed to peace and enlightenment. “Rise” is the third single, and it features mechanistic super-drumming under an intricate triple-vocal that is masterfully delivered in different ranges of growl and traditional singing. The song suggests that the darkest moments we encounter in life can make us stronger by teaching us to be proud of the scars (physical or emotional) they cause.

Icelandic black metal formation AUÐN are now releasing a brand new video for the song ‘Vökudraumsins fangi’. The clip contains stunning historic images of the band’s native Iceland, provided by the National Film Archive of Iceland // Kvikmyndasafn Íslands. The video was edited by Andri Björn Birgisson.

AUÐN comment: “”Vökudraumsins fangi” is the title song of our new album and deals with what we perceive to be real until our minds decide otherwise. Waking up in another time, feeling someone else’s presence within your being with memories foreign to you, feeling trapped in a perpetual nightmare, you begin to wonder if the life you believe you’ve led even existed at all.”

The band’s third full-length record was released on October 30th, 2020. Listen to the album here or order a copy in the Season of Mist shop.

CALIBAN Release Visualizer Video For “Nichts ist für immer”

After Germany’s prolific CALIBAN released ”Zeitgeister” on Friday, they are sharing a visualizer clip for the song “Nichts ist für immer” today. The clip sees the stunning artwork of “Zeitgeister” come to life, watch it below.

Andreas Dörner (vocals) comments: “A slightly softer track, the original is called “All I Gave” and was released on “Say Hello To Tragedy”. It’s a song about disappointed love and the end of an illusion. – We will be ourselves in the ones we love. Who am I when your love was just a lie.”

With fans hungry for the Essen-borne quintet to record an album exclusively in German, the band simply said: “Why not?” and “Zeitgeister” was born. 11 genre-defining LPs deep into their career, the band’s vision for the album came naturally – a career retrospective and deep-dive into CALIBAN favorites that haven’t had a live airing in some time. Together with the help of long-running producer Benjamin Richter (Moonspell, Emil Bulls and more) CALIBAN hand-picked seven tracks to bring new life to:

“Trauma“ (feat. Matthi from Nasty, originally “Arena Of Concealment”)
“Herz” (originally “I Will Never Let You Down”)
“Ausbruch nach Innen“ (originally “Tyranny Of Small Misery”)
“Feuer, zieh’ mit mir“ (originally “Between The Worlds”)
“Nichts ist für immer“ (originally “All I Gave”)
“Intoleranz“ (originally “Intolerance”)
“Mein Inferno” (originally “My Little Secret”)
“Zeitgeister” also boasts the brand-new track “nICHts”.

Formed in 1997, CALIBAN’s legacy has been a tireless one, touring the globe and sharing stages with the likes of Kreator, Killswitch Engage and Dark Tranquillity just to mention a few, “Zeitgeister” was a welcome homecoming.

THE ABSENCE Release “Coffinized” Video

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 17, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: The Absence. Leave a comment

THE ABSENCE have released the video for the title track of their new record, “Coffinized”.  The video, debuted yesterday on Bassist, Mike Leon’s, Live Stream via Twitch.tv and can be viewed below, and the song itself is available now for streaming and download at all digital music outlets.

Coffinized” is the title track and 2nd Single released from THE ABSENCE’s upcoming album “Coffinized,” which will be released June 25 by M-Theory Audio. CD and limited-edition vinyl variants can be pre-ordered and bundled up with new merchandise to your liking at Night Shift Merchandise.

Says vocalist Jamie Stewart, about the track, “We have all been Coffinized at one point or another – confined by a distant, funerary outlook; trapped in a dark, shrinking bubble. As one awaits a lingering exhale, it calls out – a seeping, miserable existence, disguised. Such horrors, hidden in debased, mental escape. You wrap yourself in it as it follows you down, further and further, engulfed by your own disgust and inability; it’s suffocating gaze collapsing in, embalming into your being. You become a living casket for all of your own bitter frustrations – nailed in and buried alive.”

“Coffinized” is THE ABSENCE’s follow-up to their 2018 comeback record, “A Gift For The Obsessed.” That album was the band’s first in eight years, as well as their first for new label home M-Theory Audio. The time period between that album’s release and the COVID outbreak saw the band stay busy by taking their new songs to the road, touring alongside acts such as Deicide, Origin, Jungle Rot, Exmortus, and Hatchet. Band members also stayed busy with other outside endeavors, with drummer Jeramie Kling manning the kit for Venom Inc., bassist Mike Leon on bass duties with Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy, and guitarist Taylor Nordberg playing with Massacre. Those three band members took the experiences from those touring gigs and reconvened in the studio with Stewart who has also been busy with his other project, Hot Graves, to put together the 11 tracks of pummeling death metal that compose “Coffinized.”
