AEROSMITH has landed at position No. 2 on this week’s Billboard.com “Hot Tours” rankings with ticket sales counts reported from three venues on the Latin American leg of its “Back On The Road Tour” that launched in late October. This week’s totals include grosses from Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. The October 26 performance in Paraguay was an outdoor concert for 32,000 fans staged at the Jockey Club, a horseracing track in the city of Asunción. Two days later the band was in Argentina and played to a crowd of 38,000 at Estadio Único Ciudad de La Plata, a soccer stadium in the Buenos Aires market, grossing over $3.8 million (US$) from one performance. Attendance was just over 29,000 with a gross of $2.9 million (US$).

AEROSMITH will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its iconic 1976 album, “Rocks”, with a special edition release, due out in Japan on November 23. The release will coincide with AEROSMITH‘s fall tour through Japan, kicking off Tuesday, November 22 in Kanazawa.
AEROSMITH entered guitarist Joe Perry‘s home studio (The Boneyard) in suburban Boston and the Pandora’s Box (the band’s main studio) in early July with Jack Douglas to begin recording its long-awaited 14th studio album. The CD will be AEROSMITH‘s first set of original material since 2001’s “Just Push Play” and first studio offering since 2004’s covers CD, “Honkin’ On Bobo”.
AEROSMITH and singer Steven Tyler almost went their separate ways in late 2009, but reunited and toured last year. However, Tyler then stunned his bandmates by taking a job as a judge on “American Idol”, which pushed back work on the already-delayed new record.

AEROSMITH returned to the stage last night (October 26th) at the Jockey Club in Asuncion, Paraguay after singer Steven Tyler fell in his hotel bathroom, hitting his face and losing two teeth after he apparently became dizzy due to gastrointestinal problems forcing the cancellation of the concert on Tuesday (October 25th). Tyler appeared on stage with a black eye and had two new teeth implanted.

AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler has tapped the Norwegian-born, Los Angeles-based director and photographer Ray Kay (pictured on left; real name: Reinert K. Olsen) to helm the video for the first solo single of Tyler‘s entire career, a poppy tune called “(It) Feels So Good”. The video shoot will take place in Los Angeles and will feature “a lovely, sexy summer feel,” Kay tells VG Nett.
“I’ve always been a fan of AEROSMITH,” Kay says. “[so] I am really looking forward to working with [Steven].
He adds, “This video will probably get extra attention in both the United States since it is [Tyler‘s] debut as a solo artist, and since he is a judge on ‘American Idol’, and the video will be premiered there.”
Kay tells VG Nett that he has already established a good rapport with Tyler, who has previously struggled with substance abuse issue . The two have been bouncing ideas back and forth and Tyler has been on the phone with the director in between “American Idol” broadcasts to talk about the upcoming video shoot.
“It’s amazing to see a 63-year-old with as much energy as him, especially when one has seen and experienced as much as he has,” Kay says. “He is still as enthusiastic about this video as he was about the first video he made a long ago time with AEROSMITH.”
Ray has previously created sleek cinematic music videos for music’s biggest stars, such as BRITNEY SPEARS, LADY GAGA, JUSTIN BIEBER, BEYONCE, DIDDY and ENRIQUE IGLESIAS. His love of music combined with a strong sense of fashion and eye for beauty has earned him numerous video awards. He has been featured many times on MTV and BET‘s “Making The Video” shows. Ray is also a successful photographer, shooting editorials, advertising and album packaging in both Europe and the U.S.
Ray Kay‘s music video for JUSTIN BIEBER‘s “Baby” is currently the most viewed video ever, of any kind, on YouTube, with over 500 million views. All in all, his videos have been watched over 1 billion times on YouTube.
On May 3, Tyler will release his autobiography, “Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?” and it will be accompanied by “(It) Feels So Good”. “I can hear it coming out of people’s cars this summer,” he told Rolling Stone magazine.
Catch the premiere of “It Feels So Good” on Ryan Seacrest‘s show May 9 and pick it up on iTunes the following day (May 10).

Steven Tyler‘s theme song to the live-action movie “Space Battleship Yamato”, “Love Lives”, was released in Japan last November. It was billed as Tyler‘s first solo project.
Tyler wrote the song for “Yamato” after studying a translated script and the video materials for the movie’s final scene. The ballad expresses the concept of wanting to protect a loved one.
