A message from the band states: “Our heart and thoughts go out to the family, friends and to the band of Michael Sundén, the manager of Crashdïet, who has passed away.
The rumors have been confirmed and dear friend of the band and manager Michael Sundén has passed away. It happened on the last night of the US tour as Michael was in the UK getting prepared for the that portion of the tour waiting for the boys to arrive.
Thoughts go out to friends and family who begin the grieving process and endure the sadness that comes with losing someone… R.I.P.”

Rich Davenport’s Rock Show this week (Sunday February 24th, 15:00-17:00 GMT, repeated Monday, February 25th, 02:00-04:00 GMT on BloodstockRadio.com) featured exclusive interviews with VOIVOD frontman Snake, Henry Paul of THE OUTLAWS, and CRASHDÏET vocalist Simon Cruz, and is available now for streaming at this location.
In the first hour, Outlaws frontman Henry Paul talks about the newly remastered reissue of the band’s lost 1986 album Soldiers Of Fortune, which has been a highly sought after collector’s item, with rare CD copies going for hundreds of dollars on eBay, having been out of print since the ’80s. Henry tells the story behind the album, which saw him reunited with late Outlaws mainstay Hughie Thomasson for the first time since 1977, and selects four tracks.
Also in the first hour, Crashdiet vocalist Simon Cruz gives the low down on the band’s new album The Savage Playground, with two songs from the new release.
And the remainder of the show is an in-depth Voivod interview feature, in which vocalist Snake traces the 30 year history of the innovative and highly original Canadian band, from 1983 to the current album Target Earth. Running at over an hour in length, the interview features Snake’s choice of songs from throughout the band’s career, from their early thrash punk sound, following their journey to the progressive outer limits of Metal. Snake also discusses the formation of the band’s current line up featuring returning original bassist Blacky and new guitarist Dan “Chewy” Mongrain, the recording of Target Earth and the band’s future plans.
