“The Unseen Empire”, the new album from Swedish progressive melodic death metallers SCAR SYMMETRY, will be released on April 15 in Europe and May 17 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.

Commented Ohlsson: “‘The Unseen Empire’ seeks to expose the hidden hand of the elite that pull the strings of mankind in order to fulfill their agenda of global domination. The album concept goes from theories of shadow governments to secret ancient bloodlines and even further into speculations of malevolent influence from metaphysical reptilian-based intelligences. Mankind’s only hope to survive seems to be an internal awakening where the influence of the unseen empire that rules in secrecy is washed away from the minds of the masses. They want us to stay within the framework of their agenda, hypnotizing us with things that draw attention but has no value. “Dirty Woman”, a brand new song from PAIN, the Swedish industrial metal outfit led by musician and producer Peter Tägtgren, is available for streaming at this location. The track comes off the band’s seventh album, “You Only Live Twice”, which will be released on June 3 via Nuclear Blast Records.

REV 16:8: Two New Songs Available For Streaming

REV 16:8 — the Swedish metal band formerly known as BLOODSHED — will release its second album, “Ashlands”, on April 8 via Germany’s AFM Records. The CD was recorded at Necromorbus Studio (WATAIN, NOMINON, AVERSE SEFIRA, FUNERAL MIST, MORK GRYNING, ADORIOR) in Alvik, Sweden between May and July 2010 and was mixed and mastered by Sverker Widgren. The cover artwork and layout was handled by Rafael Tavares. Guest vocals on the track “The Chase” were provided by Acerbus of ONDSKAPT.

REV 16:8‘s full-length debut, “Grand Tidal Rave”, was released in July 10, 2009 via Temple Of Darkness Records. Check out audio samples “Ashlands” and “Coal Mirror” on the group’s MySpace page.

Hammerfall: New Single Available For Streaming

“One More Time”, the new single from Swedish melodic metallers HAMMERFALL, is available for streaming on the band’s Facebook page.

On April 8, Nuclear Blast Records will release a limited-edition picture seven-inch version of “One More Time” from the band’s upcoming album “Infected”. The vinyl is limited on 500 copies and sold through the Nuclear Blast mailorder only. On the B-side of the single there will be a live version of “Hallowed Be My Name” recorded at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2009. The digital version of the single will contain an additional instrumental version of “One More Time”.

“Infected” will be released on May 20 via Nuclear Blast Records. Laying down the foundation themselves in their own studio in Sweden, the members of HAMMERFALL then traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to finish it up with acclaimed producer James Michael (MÖTLEY CRÜE, SCORPIONS, MEAT LOAF). He also mixed the album, giving it a decisive updated edge without losing any of the essence of the band’s sound. “James helped us create something that was new and exciting while still in the line of our heritage”, Oscar Dronjak, guitar player and founder of the band, explains.

“Never before have we sounded this fresh and up to date without losing the essence of what HAMMERFALL is all about: pure ‘infected’ heavy metal!” comments vocalist and frontman Joacim Cans.

“You will experience us like you’ve never done before! We’ve got a lot of fresh influences shining through in the music, but everything you love about HAMMERFALL will still be there,” says Oscar. “This is HAMMERFALL in 2011, the legend has been reborn!”
