AMARANTHE recently started filming its second video with acclaimed director Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.
Commented Mörck: “After the immense response to the ‘Hunger’ video, receiving close to 100,000 views in a few weeks, we have quite big shoes to fill with the new video — but Patric‘s ideas are pure genius, as always, [and] his working methods are spontaneous and flexible but always fit our own vision perfectly.”
AMARANTHE vocalist Elize Ryd has been selected to fill the female singer spot on KAMELOT‘s European and South American tours.
Elize previously performed with KAMELOT on last year’s “Summer Pandemonium Tour” and the band’s European trek in April/May 2010.
Mörck previously stated about the band: “AMARANTHE has for long been an idea between me and Jake E to break out of the mold of our past projects and create something new and fresh entirely and to give room for ideas not appropriate for the other acts and projects we are part of. The result is an onslaught of soaring melodies, heavy riffing and guttural screams from the netherworld, a result of having three singers in the band; Jake E on clean vocals, cabaret virtuoso Elize on female vocals and Andy on screams. The result is a quite distinct sound, especially combined with the music itself that draws upon influences from a varied spectrum of genres, all to create a thrilling experience for the listener.”
AMARANTHE is:
* Olof Mörck (NIGHTRAGE, DRAGONLAND) – Guitar, Keyboards
* Jake E (ex-DREAM EVIL, DREAMLAND) – Clean Vocals
* Andy Solveström (WITHIN Y, EVILDOER, CIPHER SYSTEM) – Screams
* Morten Lowe Sorensen (THE ARCANE ORDER, SUBMISSION) – Drums
* Johan Andreassen (ex-ENGEL) – Bass
* Elize Ryd – Female Vocals
“Vicious Companions”, a brand new song from Swedish metallers WOLF, is available for streaming on the band’s Facebook page. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway: Friday, April 22
Sweden, Finland, Hungary: Wednesday, April 27

Rest Of Europe: Monday, April 25
Australia, New Zealand: Friday, April 29
“You I Need”, the new single from Finnish metallers AMORPHIS, is available for streaming at this location. The song, which will be released digitally in Finland on April 20 and in other countries on April 22, comes off the band’s new album, “The Beginning Of Times”, due on May 27 via Nuclear Blast Records.
“The Beginning Of Times” is described as “the most challenging AMORPHIS album so far in terms of both music and lyrics.” Its central character is the iconic hero of Finnish mythology, Väinämöinen, whose tale has been masterfully retold by lyricist Pekka Kainulainen.
“The Beginning Of Times” was produced by the band; vocals were recorded under the guidance of Marco Hietala (NIGHTWISH, TAROT) in his home studio in Kuopio. Like its predecessors, the album was mixed by Mikko Karmila. Its cover artwork shows Travis Smith‘s magnificent interpretation of the mythological birth of the world from a goldeneye’s egg.

02. Mermaid
03. My Enemy
04. You I Need
05. Song Of The Sage
