German Happy Metallers FREEDOM CALL have announced via the Official Facebook Page the New Album “Beyond” to be released in February 2014:
Good news from the Freedom Call camp: the German melodic metal band are scheduled to release their latest studio album, Beyond, on 24 February 2014 (Germany: 21 February 2014; USA: 4 March 2014). Chris Bay, the group’s vocalist and guitarist, has announced an offering consisting of 14 classy songs: “Stylistically, we have remained faithful to ourselves, in fact we’ve even returned to a slightly more traditional direction. I think that’s probably the result of recent tours, where we had lots of fun with the classic Freedom Call numbers, which not only a lot of our faithful fans from the band’s early days will appreciate.”
Beyond was recorded by the current line-up featuring Chris Bay, Lars Rettkowitz (guitar), Ilker Ersin (bass) and Ramy Ali (drums) at the Separate Studios in Nuremberg and Freedom Call’s own studio. The album was produced by Chris Bay and Stephan Ernst.
Along with the album release, there will be a video clip to support ‘Union Of The Strong’, along with ‘Knights Of Taragon’ and ‘Colours Of Freedom’ a typical Freedom Call number. Chris Bay promises a perceptible musical development with lots of interesting accents and a number of surprises: “‘Dance Off The Devil’ – the ‘off’ is consciously spelled with a double ‘f’ – with its African rhythms and mystic grooves may sound slightly unusual, but it perfectly suits the album title, which is meant in a spiritual sense.” More information on this and the brilliantly designed cover artwork to follow.

Also in the first hour, Bernie Marsden (ex Whitesnake, UFO, Alaska) talks about the new reissues of his late 70s/early 80s solo albums “And About Time Too”(featuring songs co-written with Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale) and “Look At Me Now” (featuring songs originally intended for Whitesnake), both of which feature appearances from Cozy Powell and Bernie’s former Whitesnake colleagues Jon Lord, Neil Murray and Ian Paice.
And part 2 features an interview with hardcore troubadour Pete Berwick, currently on the road in the US on his “Can’t Kill A Man Born To Hang” tour. Berwick’s hard-hitting sound should appeal to fans of Southern Rock, Steve Earle and early AC/DC.
The show also features classic tracks and killer new cuts from AC/DC, Avantasia,Whitesnake, Paris, Journey, Breed 77 and Thin Lizzy.
