Djevel With Two New Tracks Online

Norwegian DJEVEL has issued the following update:

Djevel, the norwegian Black Metal band with T. Ciekals (ex-Ljå), E. Hjelvik (Kvelertak) and Mannevond (Koldbrann/Urgehal) has launched two rawmix-versions of tracks from their debut album “Dødssanger” (to be released on June 13 on Aftermath Music).

As well, new pages are launched at both Facebook and Reverbnation, check the new tracks out here on Facebook, Myspace and Reverbnation.

The album Dødssanger will features eight tracks of high quality black metal infected with a melodic darkness. All music and lyrics are written by T.Ciekals

Nightwish Singer Begins Laying Down Vocals On New Album

The vocal recording sessions for the new NIGHTWISH album, “Imaginarium”, finally began on April 4 after being postponed for a few weeks in order to allow the band’s singer, Anette Olzon, a longer recovery period after she suffered broken ribs in a fall.

NIGHTWISH is not only putting finishing touches to its new album, “Imaginarium”, but also planning a movie of the same name. If all goes well, the CD will be released in early 2012, to be followed by the movie at some point further down the line. The first single off the album as well as the trailer for the film should arrive well before the end of 2011.

Insense: ‘Burn In Beautiful Fire’ E-Card Available

Norwegian metallers INSENSE will release their fourth album, “Burn In Beautiful Fire”, on April 8 via Indie Recordings.

An e-card for the CD featuring snippets of tracks that appear on the album can be accessed at this location.

IN FLAMES frontman Anders Fridén, who manages INSENSE, stated about the latter act, “The first time I heard them, I wanted more. They have this amazing ability to sound extreme yet poised, dark yet beautiful, hardcore yet soft, technical yet simplistic, all without falling into the ‘pathetic’ trap. They are an extreme metal band that’s comfortable to listen to. They’re difficult to categorize that way.”

Necrodeath To Release ‘The Age Of Fear’

Italian NECRODEATH has issued the following update:

Legendary black/thrashers NECRODEATH are set to release their definitive retrospective CD ‘The Age Of Fear’ May 26th, 2011 and June 14th, 2011 on Scarlet Records. Featuring songs from their entire back catalogue, starting with 1987’s legendary debut album ‘Into The Macabre’ until their latest ‘Old Skull’, ‘The Age Of Fear’ captures the entire essence of the band to this day whilst awaiting their next new album, to be released in the fall of 2011 on Scarlet Records.

‘The Age of Fear‘ features 15 classic tracks including the previously unreleased “onyric” version of the song ‘Queen Of Desire’, featuring guest appearances by Giorgia Gueglio (Mastercastle) on vocals and Botys Beezart (Godyva) on piano, the stunning cover version of Slayer’s ‘Black Magic’ and the live version of the band’s own ‘The Theory’. The beautiful artwork was made by French artist Pierre-Alain D. at 3mmi Design.

Noctem’s New Album Entitled “Oblivion”

Spanish extreme metal band NOCTEM has issued the following update:

The second part from the trilogy that started with “Divinity” is entitled “Oblivion” and is going to be the hardest, fastest and darkest opus from the band until the date. The album has been produced by Daniel Cardoso (Angelus Apatrida, Ava Inferi, Anneke Van Giersbergen) and recorded in the Ultrasound Studios 2 from Portugal.

The cover has been created by Marcelo Vasco, brazilian designer who worked with Noctem in the Divinity’s cover and also worked before with bands like Dimmu Borgir, Dark Funeral, Satyricon, Belphegor, Gorgoroth and many more.

Oblivion track list will be composed by 11 tracks:

Falconer: New Album Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

Swedish metallers FALCONER will release their seventh album, “Armod”, in Europe on June 3 via Metal Blade Records. The CD features 11 songs completely sung in Swedish and four bonus tracks that are said to be English versions of the bandmembers’ favorite new songs.

“Armod” was once again recorded at KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque‘s Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden during December and January. FALCONER states, “The recording and mixing process went smoother than ever before.

“The album is embracing the Swedish folk music to a greater extent than before making it sound slightly more down to earth. The music spans from acoustic songs with cello, flute and fiddle to songs with blast beats and really heavy riffing. As said before this is a ‘one-time-only’ album and does not define the future sound of FALCONER, but it was about time to pay full notice to the infuence that has always made us different. Now we have that out of our system!”
