According to Classicrockmagazine.comOzzy Osbourne’s Buckinghamshire mansion was among the homes badly damaged during England’s recent extreme weather, he’s revealed.
Around 6000 homes were swamped by heavy rain during the wettest winter on record, with the average repair bill estimated at £30,000.
But Osbourne and wife Sharon face a payout of ten times that sum – even though they won’t be allowed to start work until the end of the year.
The BLACK SABBATH frontman tells the Daily Mail: “It’s been completely flooded. The rain has battered down the walls and seeped through everything. There’s water everywhere.
“We’ve been told it’s going to cost £300,000 to repair – but we can’t go about getting it fixed because it’s going to take nine months to dry out.
“The place is ruined.”
The Osbournes have relocated to their LA home until the fix-up job can be completed.
Greece native guitarist virtuoso Gus G (FIREWIND, Ozzy Osbourne) has recently revealed the cover artwork for his first, long overdue solo which is entitled “I Am The Fire.” The album is set to be released on March 17th, 2014 in Europe and March 18th, 2014 in North America, via longtime international partners Century Media Records. The album’s first commercial single, “I Am The Fire (Feat. Devour The Day)” will be released digitally on February 24th, 2014 in Europe and February 25th, 2014 in North America.
BLACK SABBATH’s Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler are featured in a new interview with Matt Munday at The Independent. An excerpt from the story is available below:
Iommi, as his iron handshake testifies, is in robust health again. I do not raise the subject of his treatment for lymphoma directly with him, for fear of appearing glib, and he accepts my compliment that he is looking well without further comment. However, speaking on the phone the following day, Butler raises the subject and says that “we all thought he was on his way out at one point. He’d lost tons of weight and his hair was gone. I think the album took his mind off all the radiation and chemo. And then, as we were recording, he seemed to bloom.”
Butler believes that Iommi was the main difference between this album and Sabbath’s last (aborted) attempt in 2001, which yielded only six songs that were “just not good enough.”
“I didn’t think we’d ever do an album together after that,” Butler says. “Which is why we took so long. But this time Tony had got his own studio at home, and he had all these incredible riffs. The hardest part is to take an average riff and form it into a song. As soon as we heard these riffs, we knew Tony was back on form. We knew straight away it was going to work.”
Will 13 be their last album? It ends with the sound of thunder and a tolling bell, which is how their very first LP began, though this was Rick Rubin’s idea. “We’re very pleased with the album,” Iommi equivocates. “Though if it does turn out to be our last, then it’s a great way to go.”
Black Sabbath Live… Gathered In Their Masses has entered the Top Music Videos chart in the US at #2, selling approximately 9,000 copies in it’s first week of release. In Canada, the title lands at #4 on the SoundScan DVD chart.

OZZY OSBOURNE is urging fans to celebrate his 65th birthday on Tuesday (December 3rd) by donating money to Britain’s Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
Ozzy officially becomes a pensioner in his native England on Tuesday and he has taken to Twitter to urge fans to give generously. He tweets, “I’m using my bday (tomorrow) to raise money for @royalmarsden! Give a gift and donate to help cancer patients.”

During the making of BLACK SABBATH‘s new album, “13”, singer Ozzy Osbourne relapsed back into the addictions that have haunted him throughout his career — he had previously been seven years sober — and as a result, his marriage was on the rocks.
“It wasn’t BLACK SABBATH,” Ozzy tells Revolver magazine in the December 2013 / January 2014 issue, dispelling any suggestion that the band’s reunion or the recording of “13” contributed to his relapse. ‘I’m an alcoholic.
“It’s my disease,” he continued. “If I don’t go to these AA meetings, I tell myself, You can have a line of that. You can smoke that or whatever. Next thing you know, I’m fucking on my own somewhere in L.A. I don’t know why. I’m my own worst enemy. The idea of having one drink or one joint or one line of coke or whatever, my whole fucking life caves in. It’s a bad thing. I haven’t drunk now for maybe nine months.”
The singer tells Revolver that the reconciliation with his wife, Sharon, happened “very difficultly.” After a sheepish laugh, he says, “She knows what it’s all about. When you’re stuck in a fucking hotel room in the middle of nowhere with time on your hands … you spend the rest of the time in your head in your own fucking room left to your own devices. It’s fucking bad.”
Ozzy admitted that he relapsed into drug and alcohol abuse in a statement posted by the BLACK SABBATH singer on April 15 on his Facebook page. He wrote: “For the last year and a half, I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an aasshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.
“Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person.
“I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my bandmates for my insane behavior during this period… and my fans. God bless, Ozzy.”
Ozzy told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that the many years he spent drunk and high took a toll on his relationship with his kids — especially his son Jack. “The one downside about being the crazy guy of rock ‘n’ roll was the fact that I missed out on my children somewhat and they missed out on me,” he said. “I had an argument with my son one time, and I go to him, ‘Jack, what are you moaning at me for? You never wanted for a damn thing.’ And he goes, ‘Oh yeah? What about a father?’ And it just kicked me straight between the legs and I was like, ‘Good God.'”
