Having allowed it to remain dormant for a few years, founder and frontman Doedsadmiral has given his Black Metal project SVARTELDER a considerable infusion of both enthusiasm and talent by bringing in members of CARPATHIAN FOREST, IN THE WOODS, DEN SAAKALDTE, PANTHEON I and OLD FOREST to form a new lineup.

Whilst SVARTELDER’s roots were initially planted in Norwegian Black Metal, it is obvious that an influx of musicians with this kind of experience brings with it a whole different set of influences, as each of the members contribute their own skill-sets and style to the overall sound. So much so, in fact, that the band’s newly debuted demo track “Askebundet” clearly shows that SVARTELDER’s music is expanding outwards from straight Black Metal to include more varied elements.

As to the actual lineup itself, the musicians have kept their identities a secret by changing their usual names.  Aside from Doedsadmiral on vocals, the rest of the lineup comprises Maletoth on bass and guitars, AK-47 on drums, and Kobold on keys.

PANTHEON I Announces Winner Of Fan Video Competition

Having recently invited fans to make a video using one of the two exclusive tracks that the band recently recorded, Norwegian Extreme Metallers PANTHEON I, have revealed that the winning entry for the song “Martyr” was made by a fan from Serbia and can be seen below.

Commenting on the winning video, frontman Andre Kvebek said: “All the entries we received were of a very high standard, but what set this one apart was the fact that the winner, Regina Kozlik, not only used existing photos of PANTHEON I, but she also created portraits of the individual members that she drew herself. She will be receiving a package of PANTHEON I goodies in the post very soon.”

PANTHEON I are currently working on their fourth full-length album, which is being recorded at the Skansen Lydstudio in Trondheim. Drum tracks for the album, which will be titled “Adversus”, have already been laid down, with Vegar “Vyl” Larsen (KEEP OF KALESSIN, CHTON, live session drums for GORGOROTH) behind the drum kit in place of regular drummer Mads G (THE ALL SEEING I, ZEENON) who is currently unwell. Aside from Kvebek and Mads G, the line up includes former ABSU guitarist Aethyris McKay on guitars and clean vocals, cellist Live Julianne, Sagstad (TROLLFEST, SARKOM) on guitars and T.R.S. (1349, DEN SAAKALDTE) on bass. Drummer Mads G will continue with the band, and will only be absent for the recording of the new album. A label is currently being sought for the album.

PANTHEON I Begins Recording Fourth Album

Norwegian extreme metallers PANTHEON I have entered Skansen Lydstudio in Trondheim to begin recording their fourth full-length album. The drum tracks have already been laid down, with Vegar “Vyl” Larsen (KEEP OF KALESSIN, CHTON, live session drums for GORGOROTH) behind the kit in place of the band’s drummer, Mads G (THE ALL SEEING I, ZEENON), who is currently unwell.

PANTHEON I have always been known for their fast aggressive sound, which is combined with interludes of sweeping melodies. The new album, which will be called “Adversus”, is set to signpost the future direction of the band with a fuller, more complex sound. It was, in fact, in pre-production for some time, with the band deciding to re-work the original tracks so that they would better suit the arrival of former ABSU guitarist Aethyris McKay, who not only contributes on the writing side, but also adds clean vocals that act as a perfect foil to frontman Andre Kvebek‘s raw style.

As well as Kvebek and McKay, PANTHEON I‘s lineup includes cellist LiveJulianne, Sagstad (TROLLFEST, SARKOM) on guitars and T.R.S. on bass (1349, DEN SAAKALDTE). It is anticipated that drummer Mads G will continue with the band, and will only be absent for the recording of the new album.

PANTHEON I recently went “old school” and released a tape version of its very first album, “Atrocity Divine”, through Silent Scream Records. Limited to 150 copies, the tape’s artwork was created by the Norwegian artist Kjell Åge Meland, who has worked with the band on all their releases.

PANTHEON I‘s next live appearance will take place on October 19 at Seb’s Hotel in Hamar, Norway, supported by DJEVELKULT.

With three full-length albums to their credit, Norwegian Extreme Metallers PANTHEON I have gone old-school and rereleased their 2006 debut album “Atrocity Divine” as a limited edition tape.

Commented front man Andre’ Kvebek: “I think a lot of people still remember the days of tape releases with a certain fondness and even those who weren’t around at the time associate tapes with the beginnings of the underground scene, and it was definitely something we wanted for at least one of PANTHEON I’s releases, so when the opportunity arose, we were more than happy to say yes”.

The tape version of “Atrocity Divine” is released on Silent Scream Records on the 10th September, and is limited to 150 copies. Artwork is by the Norwegian artist Kjell Åge Meland.

Formed in late 2002 in Oslo, Norway, PANTHEON I’s music combines brutality, aggression and speed with melodic interludes that, unlike the majority of bands, are not played using synths and string samples, but on the cello by classically trained Live Julianne Kostøl.

The band’s line up underwent a change last year with the addition of former ABSU guitarist Aethyris McKay, who not only contributes his writing skills and clean vocals to the band, but also allows frontman Kvebek (DEN SAAKALDTE, ex-1349) to step out from behind his guitar on stage. As well as Kvebek, McKay and Live Julianne, the line up includes Sagstad (TROLLFEST, SARKOM) on guitars, T.R.S. on bass (1349, DEN SAAKALDTE) and MADS G on drums (THE ALL SEEING I, ZEENON).PANTHEON I are currently on the pre-production stage of their fourth full-length album and plan to enter the studio later this year to being recording.

Pantheon I Record Two Tracks To Mark Next Phase In The Band’s Career

PANTHEON I have completed recording two tracks to show both fans and prospective labels the direction the Norwegian Extreme Metallers are taking with their music and what to expect from their fourth full length album.   Whilst there are no definitive plans at the moment to release the two tracks, titled “Pariah” and “Martyr”,  according to frontman Andre’ Kvebek the band  “wouldn’t be averse to releasing  it on vinyl as a special should any labels be interested”.   
Having recently expanded their line up to include former ABSU guitarist Aethyris McKay, Kvebek explains the thinking behind the rather unusual decision to record two separate tracks first, rather than a full album and just release teasers:  “We did actually have virtually a full album in a pre-production stage, but these were all tracks that pre-dated Aethyris joining the band, and were not really structured to take into account his contribution on clean vocals.  After working on them for a while, we realised that most of them wouldn’t work they way we wanted them to work.  Additionally of course we had his considerable song-writing skills and approach to Extreme Metal to draw on, so we decided to start again from scratch.  As far as we’re concerned it was the right decision to take because we can now turn what would have been simply a “transitional” album into a fully fledged PANTHEON I anno 2012 album, which is much more fierce and much more mature than before. 
Whilst Kvebek (ex 1349) still continues to write and play the guitar on recordings, the arrival of McKay has enabled him to concentrate solely on vocals when performing live, something he has been wanting for some time as it allows both himself, and the band, more flexibility on stage.  Other members of the band include Sagstad (TROLLFEST, SARKOM, METAL MILITIA) on guitars, Live Julianne Costol on cello, TRS (1349, TYRANN) on bass and Mads G (THE ALLSEEING I) on drums.  More information about PANTHEON I can be found on the band’s website at http://www.pantheon-i.com

Update From The Pantheon I Camp

Norwegian extreme metallers Pantheon I have issued the following update:

“If Pantheon I has seemed uncharacteristically quiet recently it’s because the band has been very, very busy working on things behind the scenes.  However, we thought we’d take a few minutes breather and update you on what has been going on.

“First of all, as you all know, we’ve been looking to increase the band by one more person with the addition of a vocalist.  With the band expanding so much musically, this will allow Kvebek to put all his energies into the guitar, and give the band a front man who is free to roam the stage and interact more closely with the audience.  Seems that there are a lot of very skilled vocalists out there who are interested in joining Pantheon I and we are spending a lot of time listening to demos and doing live auditions.

Lately Pantheon I has been working hard recording the preproduction for the next album.  “We already have 13 new songs ready and whilst we would really like you to hear what you can expect, you’ll just have to wait!  We are ready to throw a few surprises your way, and the wait will be worth it.”

December Pantheon I will head to Germany to co-headline the Ender Der Zeit tour with the colleagues from Trollfest. “Pantheon I are always eager to get on the road, and we’re thinking this short tour, which takes place just before Christmas, and hence during the period when everyone is up for a bit of celebrating, will be a lot of fun for bands and fans alike.”
