With over two decades of Black Metal under their belts, RAGNAROK are no strangers to live appearances, and both they, and their fans, are always ready for more. And to this end, the veteran Norwegians have inked a European booking deal with Massive Music.
“Live shows, and the opportunity they give us to connect directly with our fans is something we all really enjoy, and it adds a whole new dimension to the music”, commented RAGNAROK’s founder Jontho Panthera. “We are therefore delighted to be able to announce that we will joining forces with Massive Music as regards European booking. Massive have a huge amount of experience, and some formidable bands on their roster, and we are very excited about the possibilities this cooperation could bring. We very much look forward to working together, and to bringing RAGNAROK to a stage near you!”
Norwegian black metallers RAGNAROK will embark on Latin American tour with their new bassist Rammr (Jordskipstyrann,Elvarhøi) on September 6th. Watch the tour trailer below:
Having spent the last year using session bass players for their live appearances, RAGNAROK announced that Rammr has joined the band on a full-time, permanent basis, shortly after the band’s appearance at this year’s Kaltenbach Open Air in Austria.
“Originally it was our intention to use a session bassist going forward,” explains founder and frontman Jontho, who recently switched roles to become the band’s vocalist. “However, during the shows he did with us, Rammr’s dedication to his craft, and to Ragnarok itself, became very evident to everyone. He fits in perfectly with the rest of the band, which includes Bolverk on guitars and drummer Daniel Minge (Dauden), not only on stage, but also on a personal level. Most importantly, he understands our ideology, and what Ragnarok expects of its members, and after yet another incredible performance from him at Kaltenbach Open Air recently, I thought it was right to make him a full member”.
RAGNAROK are set to hit the road in September, for a thirteen-date tour of South America, where the band has a considerable following. Routing for RAGNAROK’s “Psychopathology Latin American Tour” is as follows, and includes links to the specific Facebook events where fans will be able to get all the necessary details:
Following on from their successful joint tour in October of last year, Norwegian veterans RAGNAROK have once again teamed up with Slovenia’s CVINGER for part two of the “Psychopathology” Tour, which this time ranges further East through Europe to bring fans a Black Metal package that also includes France’s INFINITYUM and Ireland’s AETERNUM VALE . With well over two decades on the Black Metal scene, RAGNAROK has undergone its fair share of lineup changes, with the one constant being Jontho, the band’s founder, and one of Norway’s most recognisable and iconic drummers. So it was with some surprise when Jontho traded in his drumsticks for a mic and took over as the band’s vocalist. A change that has been greeted with much support and approval from RAGNAROK’s army of fans. Aside from Jontho on vocals, the band’s lineup includes long-standing guitarist Bolverk (IMAGES AT TWILIGHT) and drummer Daniel Minge (DAUDEN), with session bassists Viti (IMAGES AT TWILIGHT, HINSIDIG) and Rammr (JORDSKIPSTYRANN), who will be joining the band for this tour, alternating duties.
Having recently announced that they would be renewing their long-standing, and very successful, relationship with Agonia Records, veteran Norwegian Black Metallers RAGNAROK have now announced the full schedule for their upcoming headlining European tour which will take place in October of this year. Joining them on the eleven date tour are Slovenian Black Metallers CVINGER and Norwegian Death Metallers MECALIMB

Additionally, RAGNAROK will appear at Mörkaste Småland, Hultsferd, Sweden, on the 24th September.
Formed in 1994 RAGNAROK’s history spans well over two decades. As with any band that has lasted this long, there have been changes in the lineup along the way, not least of which was the decision by Jontho, one of the most recognisable and respected drummers on the Norwegian Black Metal scene, to expand his performing repertoire by laying down his drumsticks and taking over as vocalist. Aside from Jontho on vocals, the band’s lineup includes long-standing guitarist Bolverk (IMAGES AT TWILIGHT), drummer Daniel Minge (DAUDEN) and session bassist Viti (IMAGES AT TWILIGHT, HINSIDIG).
Norway’s RAGNAROK have signed a new three album deal with Agonia Records, continuing the relationship that has so far seen the release of the Norwegian Black Metal veterans’ seventh and eighth full-length albums, “Malediction” in 2012 and “Psychopathology” in 2016 respectively, as well as the special edition retrospective “Chaos and Insanity Between 1994-2004“, which traces the first decade of the band’s history.
Founder and iconic drummer Jontho, had this to say about the decision to stick with the label:
“We looked at several other offers when our contract with Agonia expired, but one of the most important things for us was the kind of relationship we could have with a label. We know that with Agonia we can have open and honest discussions and exchanges of ideas, which always result in something productive for both parties. It’s not just about releases for them, it’s also about all the other the other things that go into making a band successful”.
Agonia Records Commented:
“RAGNAROK is in a class of its own for delivering more than two decades of truly intensive music. And that’s a heck of a time. One could say a band is burnt out after so many years of artistic expression, but this isn’t the case with RAGNAROK. If anything’s burning, it’s their enthusiasm, that’s being well channelled with experience. We are happy to re-new the deal and we are thrilled and looking forward to working on the upcoming releases!”
