KING DIAMOND and Metal Blade Records are excited to announce a new run of vinyl! Fans can now get their hands on both “Them” and “Abigail” from the official King Diamond web shop. “Them” has been pressed on 180 gram white vinyl, and “Abigail” has been pressed on 180 gram blue vinyl. Additionally, each vinyl will be available as a bundle with an album art t-shirt!

Peaceville Records presents this exclusive KATATONIA 12” vinyl release for this year’s renowned Record Store Day.

The ‘Kocytean‘ vinyl (Cat. No: VILES504)  features 6 tracks, containing rarities from the Swedish band’s more recent period of recorded output; from 2006’s ‘Code Against the Code’ & ‘Unfurl’ (from the era of breakthrough release ‘The Great Cold Distance’) up to ‘The Act of Darkening’ & ‘Second’, recorded during the period of the band’s recent acclaimed masterpiece, 2012’s ‘Dead End Kings’. ‘Kocytean’ also includes sumptuous artwork courtesy of the band’s long-time visual collaborator, Travis Smith.

Record Store Day began in the US in 2007 when over 700 independent stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture, the UK soon followed suit and on April 19th 2014 will see the seventh celebration of the UK’s unique independent sector.

SHINING: III – Angst Vinyl, Preorder Launched

Swedish act SHINING was formed by Niklas “Kvarforth” Olsson in 1996. Already with a developed sense of direction to his compositions and expression of wholly negative outlook & emotion, Niklas created some utterly oppressive material for the debut release, the”Submit to Self-destruction” EP in 1998, when Niklas himself was still only 14 years old.

Angst was Shining’s third album and was originally released in 2002. A development of composition was clearly evident here, working in more subtle twists and complexities to the sinister & wholly oppressive suicidal black metal. The work of Shining is intended to reflect the dark & destructive side of the world & human nature.

The album was recorded at The Abyss Studios (Immortal, Marduk & Dimmu Borgir), the famous Swedish recording studio run by Peter Tagtgren, The album was recorded by Tommy Tagtgren. As is somewhat a trademark of the Shining sound, the album retains a hypnotic quality to the riffs mixed with unsettling vocal anguish, along with acoustic passages and expertly handled lead guitar passages. This was also the first Shining album to feature the legendary Hellhammer (Mayhem) on drums.

This edition of “III – Angst” is presented on 180gm heavyweight black vinyl.

According to Nuclear Blast Records, After the phenomenal reactions to TANKARD’s current amazing album »A Girl Called Cerveza« (out since July 2012), Nuclear Blast is now happy to offer you a series of reissue of highlights of the TANKARD discography including extensive bonus material!

As of today the 1988 and 1990 »The Morning After« and »The Meaning Of Life« are available as vinyl re-releases. Already available are the band’s classic records »Zombie Attack« (1986), »Chemical Invasion« (1987), »Stone Cold Sober« (1992) and »Two-Faced« (1994).

TANKARD is currently working on songs for a new studio album.
The new album will be titled ‘R.I.B.’ (Rest In Beer) and is set to be released in summer 2014 via Nuclear Blast. Taking inspiration from the motto “never change a winning team”, the guys will enter the studio in January 2014 to kick off the recording with producer Michael Mainx (BÖHSE ONKELZ, DER W, D-A-D, DISBELIEF), who produced the last album. The band have also chosen to use Patrick Strogulski who created the artwork for ‘A Girl Called Cerveza’ and is also a student of Sebastian Krüger who created TANKARD’s previous album artwork up to the 2012 release.
