Finnish dark metallers SOULFALLEN will release their third album, “The Promise Of Hell”, on January 18, 2012 via the band’s own label, Grave New Music, with distribution from Inverse Records/Supersounds (Finland), Plastic Head (U.K.), Bertus (Holland), Sound Pollution (Sweden), Disk Union (Japan), The End Records (USA), Rebeat (Austria), Non Stop (Switzerland), and LSP/MetalZone (Belgium). The cover artwork was created by Maija Ranka and can be seen below.
Commented SOULFALLEN frontman Kai Leikola: “The new album will be the final part of a trilogy, the closing of a chapter. It will bear the trademark sound of SOULFALLEN with some new flavors directly from the ever-burning kitchens of Hell. The story will continue where ‘Grave New World’ left off: at the burial of the world. Something has gone terribly wrong and life has united with death in a way never seen before. Humanity is not allowed rest but trapped in a Hell where even death cannot save those already dead.”
A video for the song “Scars Aligned” was filmed this past fall and will make its online debut next month to coincide with the album’s release. The clip features a guest vocal appearance by Annika Jalkanen.
In other news, SOULFALLEN has parted ways with longtime guitarist Simo Rahikainen and drummer Matti Auerkallio ” due to personal reasons.” The band states, “There was no drama involved, but merely they felt they could not give the band 100 percent and decided it was their time to move on. These changes will not affect the release of the album nor our upcoming live shows in 2012 that will be played with a renewed lineup.”

MetalTalk.net has issued the following update:
Manowar‘s Joey DeMaio appears to have solved the problems that were engulfing the Getaway Rock Festival last month.
Apparently, employees and local suppliers have not been paid for their work during the festival and Festival General Tomas Jernberg Speed had threatened not to pay those who turn to the media. This prompted Joey to fly to Sweden to sort the while mess and get the festival back on track.
A statement from Magic CIrce Records has just been released which states; “Joey had successful meetings with Live Nation Sweden and the new owners of Getaway Rock Festival, FKP Scorpio: Everything is fine for Getaway Rock Festival 2012 and for MANOWAR’s headlining performance.”
And Joey also made the following post on Facebook on Thursday; “This is Joey. Just left Sweden. Everything is okay! Getaway Rock Festival will be happening with MANOWAR and HOLYHELL next year! Get your seatbelts on. More news will follow soon! – Joey”

SOULS ON 11 — the project featuring former MEGADETH guitarist Jeff Young and 24-year-old Swedish singer Guernica Mancini — had its October 21 performance at Genghis Cohen Restaurant, Bar & Music Room in Hollywood, California filmed for DVD release. Joining Young and Mancini during the concert were James Lomenzo (bass; MEGADETH, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, WHITE LION) and Debby Holiday (vocals).

Mancini joined SOULS ON 11 earlier in the year as the replacement for Schascle “Twinkle” Yochim, who was unable to move forward with the project due to various “personal and family situations.” Seeking a vocalist of European sensibility led the guitarist back to his Alma mater, Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. Mancini is a recent graduate of MI‘s Vocal Institute Of Technology and is currently attending courses in Music Business at UCLA. During her tenure at VIT, Mancini went through a self-proclaimed “’80s metal phase,” exploring a natural affinity and the uncanny ability to sing in the style of Ronnie James Dio, SKID ROW‘s Sebastian Bach, Janis Joplin and the like.
