When CATTLE DECAPITATION released one of the most unflinching albums of 2019, Death Atlas, American fans were left in a void as tours were shut down due to the pandemic. Today, the San Diego grinders announce the DEATH…AT LAST Tour, also featuring THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, CREEPING DEATH and EXTINCTION A.D.

CATTLE DECAPITATION frontman Travis Ryan declares, “We are ecstatic to be able to finally announce a US tour after almost two years of inactivity in the States due to the pandemic! Our latest album and what we consider to be the bands finest hour in our entire 25 year history, Death Atlas, will finally get its due in the States. Before things shut down, we had nailed down what we felt was our best live set we had ever done and had played it in Australia, New Zealand and Japan but were cut off before we could bring it to the states after you all had fully digested it. Well, we’re happy to say we’ll be taking some time out of our busy writing schedule to do this album some justice LIVE starting this January. We’ll be bringing along some bands whose names fit nicely in the aesthetic of Death Atlas including THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, CREEPING DEATH and EXTINCTION A.D.! We ALL deserve everything that’s coming! DEATH…AT LAST!“

Tickets go on sale Friday, November 12th.

“Stargazer” is the fifth track from British rock band RAINBOW‘s 1976 album Rising. Four Los Angeles’ musicians, John Evermore of Diamonds Hadder and friends, Doug Weiand, Joey Mancaruso, Kent Hiltz and James Staples teamed up to debut their cover video for this legendary song.

Audio Info: Recorded at Light Black Productions in Los Angeles Ca 2020 – Engineered and Mixed by Rob Black. Video Info:Filmed by Rob Mestas of “Defiant Digital Productions” and John Evermore in Los Angeles 2021 Edited by John Evermore.

This song and video were done for the love of heavy metal and as nothing more than a tribute to such an amazing song and record which we all grew up listening to and admiring.

Band Members Include:

Doug Weiand – All Guitars – is a composer, session and touring guitar player based in Los Angeles. An artist influenced mostly by heavy metal and rock yet with the sensibilities and experience in jazz, classical music and rock fusion as well. Legato technique and exotic scales approaches are very present in his playing, resulting in a distinguished “outside” sound.” Insta @dougweiand

Joey Mancaruso – Drums – is both a touring and session drummer hailing from the greater Los Angeles basin. He has worked with a number of artists ranging from Robert Hecker (Redd Kross) to Stephen Carpenter (Deftones). The main bulk of his work is rooted in Heavy Metal/Prog/Jazz. Insta @joenan_the_barbarian

James Staples – Bass (Recording) – Raised in Ventura County and brought up in the Ventura County music scene, James Lionheart took an opportunity on bass on short notice after many years of guitar playing, once secondary has now become his main instrument of choice. Heavily inspired by old school rock and metal genres, Lionheart carries a sound that really captivates the ears. Insta @lionheartbassmaster

Kent Hiltz – Bass (Video Performance) – is a vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer with a lifelong love of all things heavy metal. His musical journey has taken him from Indiana, to Nashville, touring the United States and Japan, and now Los Angeles. Insta @kentdavidhiltz

NAPALM DEATH Launch New Video for ‘Contagion’; Announce “Campaign For Musical Destruction” European Tour 2022

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 9, 2021

UK Grindcore pioneers NAPALM DEATH are pleased to be able to continue to promote their current and much acclaimed album “Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism”…

While currently on the road all across North American as part of the “Scumdogs 30th Anniversary Tour” with Gwar as well as labelmates EyeHateGod, NAPALM DEATH are now debuting a promotional video directed by Marc Nickel & Ljuba Generalova for the track “Contagion” off “Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism”.

Check it out here:

NAPALM DEATH frontman Mark ‘Barney’ Greenway comments about the special topic covered within the song and clip as follows: “Although we can only hope to provide a snapshot in four-minutes, what we wanted to try to illustrate with the “Contagion” video is how difficult it has been made to do something as fundamental as moving freely as a human being. There is downright absurdity in that some people have to resort to mortal danger doing things like riding atop trains whilst others can move seamlessly and freely without a second thought. We advocate for an end to borders of all description. Complementing that, the sweaty live footage was shot brilliantly by Ljuba Generalova in NAPALM DEATH’s virtual second home of Berlin and the music, you might say, just motors along like a train.”

And NAPALM DEATH bassist Shane Embury, who wrote the music and the lyrics for “Contagion”, added as follows: “Musically, “Contagion” is geared towards manic intense live mosh pit action but with an added 4AD noise quirk homage chorus! Also, having so many friends in the Latin community, through a couple of them I learned and read about the perilous journeys that families embark on for the chance at a better life. As a parent, I think of my children’s future all the time – the things we take for granted I wanted to reflect lyrically!”

In other news, NAPALM DEATH have just announced a next edition of their “Campaign For Musical Destruction” tour across Europe for February/March 2022, this time featuring support by Doom, Siberian Meatgrinder and Show Me The Body. Here is a full list of the dates for that run:

THE HALO EFFECT: Band Feat. Gothenburg Icons Release First Ever Single & Music Video ‘Shadowminds’

The year of the corona-pandemic, when the world was forced into a standstill, five old friends finally put an old idea in motion. The result is a brand new band, THE HALO EFFECT, who recently inked a contract with Nuclear Blast.

The members of THE HALO EFFECT are not only masters of their domain, but also pioneers of the Gothenburg melodeath scene, who, at some point, have all been members of fellow Gothenburg icons IN FLAMES: Lead guitarists Niclas Engelin (ENGEL) and Jesper Strömblad (CYHRA), lead singer and lyricist Mikael Stanne (DARK TRANQUILLITY), bassist Peter Iwers, and drummer Daniel Svensson.
Today, the band are giving metal fans all over the world a taste of their sound with debut single ‘Shadowminds’, that comes together with a music video. Its brooding atmosphere, melodic riffs and harsh vocals provide a perfect example of what THE HALO EFFECT is about.

Watch the music video for ‘Shadowminds’:

The band comments: “We are incredibly excited to unveil this new band with one of the first songs that we wrote together. We felt strongly that this was the right direction for the band. Finding identity, finding a drive and passion is what the song is about and also what this band is about. What drove us to do this in the first place, what obstacles have we overcome in order to fully commit to this lifestyle? It’s about how easy it is to get lost if you lose focus and passion for what you do.
With the video we wanted to convey the emptiness of the city in the early stages of the pandemic and what we saw outside of the studio as we were writing but we also love
the cool dystopic imagery so we made the city look even more barren and destroyed. Enjoy!”

The initial thought behind THE HALO EFFECT was to go back to the roots and explore the classic Gothenburg Sound, and the band manage just that. Their new take on the iconic sound is sure to appeal to fans of the classic melodeath sound.

The band have also announced their first ever tour, accompanying Swedish death metal berserkers AMON AMARTH and US thrashers MACHINE HEAD on 31 dates throughout Europe and the UK.

The band comments: “We could not be more excited to partner with Cobra Agency for our first tour of Europe together with metal giants AMON AMARTH and MACHINE HEAD. Working together with people who are passionate about the road, the crews, the bands and the fans means a lot to us and doing this together is something we very much look forward to. See you in Sept/Oct!“

GRETA VAN FLEET Announce ‘Dreams In Gold’ Tour 2022

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: GRETA VAN FLEET. Leave a comment

Following this year’s sold-out headline events and a #1 Billboard Rock Album, Grammy-winning rock band Greta Van Fleet are confirmed for their forthcoming Dreams in Gold tour, which kicks off March 10 with the band making a triumphant return to their original stomping grounds in Michigan for a string of arena shows followed by Midwest dates and international shows in Mexico, Europe and the UK.

Grammy-nominated group Rival Sons and critically acclaimed rising artist The Velveteers will support the North American shows. Tickets are on sale this Friday, November 12 at 10am local time at LiveNation.com. There will be a Fan Presale on November 10, and a Local Venue Presale on November 11. See HERE for more info and a complete list of dates follows below.

Strange Horizons, the band’s specialty events in 2021, saw sold-out shows in Nashville, Bridgeport, Chicago and Los Angeles. The group’s critically acclaimed album The Battle at Garden’s Gate was released earlier this year to extensive chart success and fanfare, debuting at #1 Billboard Rock Album, #1 Billboard Hard Rock Album, #1 Billboard Vinyl Album, #2 Billboard Top Album Sales and in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200.

An hour of rock music that touches on their familiar themes of war, grief, and spirituality…it contains plenty of the intellectual flights that inspired an active subreddit of superfans who devote serious brainpower to textual interpretation of their lyrics. But mercifully, it’s genuinely enjoyable outside of those contexts too.” – Vanity Fair, Read HERE.

“There’s something winning about the members’ earnest intentions, as well as their unwavering commitment to them. Their sincere love for the history of rock shows in the depth of their knowledge about it.” – The Guardian, Read HERE.

“aim to bust down old walls.” – Rolling Stone, Read HERE.

“one of the best straight-up rock albums to come down the pike in many moons” – Variety, Read HERE.

The Battle at Garden’s Gate explores the boundaries of the group’s artistry and reflects heavily on the individual members’ personal and spiritual growth during their rapid rise. “There was a lot of self-evolution happening during the writing of this album that was prompted by experiences I had, experiences we all had,” explains vocalist Josh Kiszka. “It’s reflecting a lot of the world that we’ve seen, and I think that it’s reflecting a lot of personal truth,” says guitarist Jake Kiszka.

Forming in Frankenmuth, Michigan back in 2012, Greta Van Fleet consists of three brothers, vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka, as well as drummer Danny Wagner. Together they have performed across multiple continents, sold over two million albums worldwide, performed on late night television shows, topped the Billboard U.S. Mainstream Rock and Active Rock charts and won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2019.
