Just shortly after announcing the signing of almighty death metal icons NILE to Napalm Records, the premier international rock and metal label is pleased to announce the additional signing of the band’s own mastermind KARL SANDERS’ solo project, with plans to release brand new Saurian music next year.
Following the first two Saurian project albums – Saurian Meditation (2004) and Saurian Exorcisms (2009) – KARL SANDERS is ready to unleash more musical musings from inside his eclectically influenced mind. To date, each Saurian release has explored unique, original compositions of haunting, primarily Middle Eastern inspired music in a cinematic, ambient and mostly instrumental format – similar to the quiet, exotic interludes found on NILE albums. Providing a diverse escape for both fans of NILE and those otherwise intrigued by its world music aura, Saurian proves that Sanders’ universe is anything but one-dimensional.
In addition to releasing new Saurian music, Napalm Records will reissue both Saurian Meditation and Saurian Exorcisms, with more details to come.
KARL SANDERS says about the signing: “I am just thrilled to death that we have signed up with Napalm Records for the new KARL SANDERSSaurian album. I am really happy that we have found such a good home for both NILE and my Saurian side project, as they are a great company with some sincere people. I am looking forward in earnest to working together with everyone at Napalm to bring fans the new Saurian music, as well as re-releasing the first two Saurian records.”
Stay tuned for more information on upcoming Saurian music and reissues, coming soon!
May those of Sense and Earth gather for the new dawn…
ENSLAVED‘snew EP Caravans To The Outer Worlds was released unto the universe last month. It is a tale of departure, about leaving behind a barren and desolate world, travelling boldly into the future. It signaled the end of an era for the psychedelic Norwegians, hinting at new pastures.
In celebration of the EP’s release, tied in with the upcoming Winter Solstice(a Pagan holy day marking the symbolic death and rebirth of the Sun), Enslaved are proud to announce an extraordinary streaming event. ‘The Otherworldly Big Band Experience‘ will take place on Tuesday December 21st. Fellow psychedelic Norwegian prog band Shaman Elephant will be joining Enslaved onstage.

THE OTHERWORLDLY BIG BAND EXPERIENCE Tuesday December 21st @ 21.00 CET / 20.00 GMT Tickets are now on sale now via https://enslavedstore.com/collections/big-band-stream The stream will be available to watch until the end of December 24th. Stream FAQ + support info is HERE
Enslaved‘s Ivar Bjørnson gave some insight, “Soon, the sun will turn – once again marking the transition from one year to another and the onset of brighter days ahead. We are many who wish to see this coming Winter Solstice mark a lasting turning away from dark days behind us. We have kept it up all along; virtual tours, rehearsing, writing, and releasing an album and an EP. You heard us when we said, “this will not stop us!” – the Enslaved Community has grown stronger through the crisis. Now we will close this cycle with a grandiose virtual concert, and hope for you to join us from all over the world.
“The Otherworldly Big Band Experience” is about wanting to show even more of what ENSLAVED is: ENSLAVED is also an idea. It is a live band that is teeth-grittingly metal, has rock’n’roll in its DNA, while maintaining and expanding on its position as a groundbreaking progressive metal act. All while exploring the boundaries of Norse Mythology and Rune-lore, Psychology and History.
We have recruited both an extension to the line-up with the young and talented Bergen prog rock band, Shaman Elephant. We have worked together with some of the most talented moviemakers and visual wizards around – also young and from Bergen: Kolibri Media. Add the Enslaved live crew to the mix and you have got magick, no less.
We have aspired to create a concert film that reflects this expanded representation of ENSLAVED and cannot wait to show you all. It is bigger than any project we have done before, and it is unlike anything else you have seen in this kind of music. You will see and hear songs that have never been performed before. Songs you might have heard will sound and look like you haven’t seen and heard before. There is new material, and material as old as the band. One constant binds it all together: it is ENSLAVED.”

Modern metallers DAGOBA are back! After putting their stamp on the metal scene with their unique blend of metal and neckbreaking grooves, and relentlessly touring and sharing the stage with legendary acts like Metallica, Machine Head and In Flames, DAGOBA’s undeniable talent was discovered by Napalm Records. Now, the French four-piece is gearing up to reach the next level with their most ambitious material yet – the punishing new full-length, By Night, out February 18, 2022 via Napalm Records!
Following up to their recent track and exclusive 7” “The Hunt”, DAGOBA unleashes the new single “The Last Crossing” today! The song is an in-your-face banger offering melodic choruses and harsh vocals by singer Shawter and unstoppable blast beats. This is an impressive, hard-hitting first glimpse into what fans can expect from By Night!
DAGOBA on their new single “The Last Crossing”: “While our last video for ‘The Hunt’ was more focused on cinematic storytelling, ‘The Last Crossing’ rather showcases the full band line-up and our strength as a performing band. We feel like DAGOBA have never been as strong and tight as now, and the ‘The Last Crossing’ video transports that energy perfectly.”

DAGOBA deftly aces the balancing act between harsh breakdowns, dense walls of sound and grooving passages with ease. Even in its hardest passages, the album never gets too overwhelming – one smashing track is followed by the next, moving breathlessly with ease. By Night is a beast of an album showcasing how far DAGOBA can take a multitude of influences and styles and combine them effortlessly. This is a must-have for true fans of searing modern metal!
DAGOBA on the creation process of By Night: “We live in challenging times, and that’s not only because of the strength-sapping pandemic. Sometimes the world seems to be a dark place. We know it’s an ambitious project, but we really want our fans to feel good, and contribute to their happiness. Therefore, we deliver our blend of metal music. During the weeks and months in the lockdown period we had so much time to have a focus on the album production. We could look at every detail in each track, and after all By Night has become our most accomplished album so far. We are really happy with the new record and cannot wait to share it with our fans and the world.”
Varying in individual territories, By Night will be available digitally, as a CD (bundled with an exclusive t-shirt), as well as black and exclusive red transparent vinyl! Order HERE

By releasing two new tracks – “Funeral Of The Earth” and “Artifacts Of The Black Rain”, a cover of the classic In Flames song – German melodic death metal force DESERTED FEAR already gave a promising foretaste of what to expect from their next full-length album, which can now proudly be announced.
Entitled “Doomsday”, it marks the group’s fifth studio album, and it was recorded, mixed and mastered by DESERTED FEAR guitarist Fabian Hildebrandt at Eisensound Studio and will be released on March 4th, 2022, via Century Media Records, with a pre-order campaign starting on December 17th, when a first single and video for the album will also be debuted.
DESERTED FEAR checked in with the following comments about “Doomsday”:
Simon: “Seemingly driven by the frustration of the never-ending forced break, we have been working on new songs for the last 1,5 years and recorded them in the last weeks. It’s hard to believe that we were completely disillusioned and empty-handed in the middle of last year and now we’re holding our most varied and mature record to date in our hands.”
Fabian: “We recorded again at my Eisensound Studio and this time I also did the mixing and mastering myself. The creative freedom on this album was greater than ever, because we could still implement small details and ideas we came up with during mixing. A good preview of what’s to come is given by our recently released 7inch “Funeral Of The Earth”, whose mix was also a perfect starting point for the album sound, on which I was able to add a few more percent.”
Manuel: “The album artwork was done by Rio Krisma and he realized our concept perfectly. “Doomsday” is not about the monster created in Superman whose only goal is the destruction of other life forms, but humanity seems to be on its way there and also destroying itself. We have a fucking problem, there’s a lot going wrong socially too and as artists we want to bring attention to it.”
Starting with the release of “Doomsday”, DESERTED FEAR will play a run of exclusive album release shows throughout Germany. See below for the exact dates and make sure to secure your tickets!
“So mark your calendars and get your tickets! We can’t wait to play concerts again and are really looking forward to seeing you all again!”, added DESERTED FEAR.
Just recently Metalheads Forever conducted a cool video interview with Dublin based RITUAL EFFECT, talking about their upcoming EP “Too Late to turn back“, success of their debut album “Fossils” and how the band got together. Read the whole article at this location.

Just recently the band revealed the teaser video for their upcoming new EP ‘Too Late to Turn Back’! In case you missed it, watch it here: https://youtu.be/_f9u5Xuvn8c
Earlier the band stated on ‘Too Late to Turn Back’: “This is the “difficult second album” but not in the traditional sense. The difficulty we faced with this one was the crazy amount of lockdowns and lack of in-person contact we had thoughout the whole process. It’s a pretty different set of tunes to the first album. “Fossils” had lots of fast paced 4 minute rock songs. These compositions are longer and heavier and go in more directions. And unlike the last album, Paul was with us from the very start of the writing process here, and it shows! The biggest thing we’ve learned through this recording is that nothing can ever be taken for granted. It’s been a year and a half since the last time we got on stage together and this whole experience has just made us hungrier and more determined than ever. We believe that there’s an energy to these tracks that reflects that, and we chose the title “Too Late To Turn Back” because it represents where we stand right now as a band – all in, focused, and ready to seize our moment. We are very excited to finally have this mini-album ready for the world. Hope you enjoy it!”

Dublin based RITUAL EFFECT fuse aspects of grunge and metal together with catchy riffs, fast paced songs, driving choruses and high energy shows. Since the band’s inception in late 2017, they have written a massive amount of songs, clocked up a hefty amount of gigs, and they have been invited back everywhere that they have played, receiving enthusiastic feedback from far and wide. Each band member has previously written and recorded with different ensembles around the country but none could resist the call to join this new family. Each of the members has their own style and very different qualities which have been intricately wound into Ritual Effect. They are professional to work with, fun to hang out with, and awesome to witness. 2019 saw the band enter the studio for their first serious project, their debut album “Fossils”. This 15 track album is a heavy, melodic nod to their past and sets the pace for a high speed, full on sonic assault to the future. With their song bank close to full storage, a follow up mini album ‘Too Late to Turn Back’ will hit the shelves in 2021. There is no limit to what this band is capable of in the rehearsal room, on stage or on tape. Come join the Ritual and embrace the Effect.
Russian Prog Metal Risingstars EXISTENTIA have revealed a ‘Making of’ video for their recently released new single and official video ‘Revolution Against Evolution‘.
The band stated on ‘Revolution Against Evolution’: “This single is important to us because it’s a part of our souls and perception of the world!”
EXISTENTIA’s sound combines heavy metal guitar riffs, evolving melodies and themes, coupled with sensual female vocals.
After the release of their debut album “Planet in the Universe” in May 2021, band released their new single ‘Revolution Against Evolution’ on November 26, 2021. This new composition combines the reflection of feelings and emotions of several world events at once! The beginning of the protests and, in fact, the civil revolution in the USA, after the murder of African American police on the streets of Minneapolis, which led to a series of episodes full of brutality and irreversible despair of thousands of people. Along with a global scientific event – the first voyage of a civilian crew in space, which gave rise to the newest stage in the development of mankind.
The revolution is what unites these two, at first glance, polar events. The revolution is what permeates the band’s new single. The spirit of protest coupled with hope, rebellion coupled with the desire to live and create!
‘Revolution Against Evolution’ in many ways became revolutionary for EXISTENTIA. Different from the previous events, the lyrics of the song, more progressive arrangements, new sound of instruments and the whole mix, more soulful vocal turns, imbued with the inspiration of St. Petersburg, where a new historical event happened for Russia – all this is a new step that opens the next stage for Existentia.
EXISTENTIA are • Anton Mityugin – composer, bass guitarist, backing vocalist; • Aleksandr Sidelin – the author of music and lyrics, also in his power guitar and backing vocals; • Miroslava Mirova is responsible for keyboards; • Anton Zaitsev – drums; • And Maya Gitsina, whose sensual vocals permeate all the compositions of the team.
