Tuska Open Air Metal Festival has issued as follows:

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival taking place at Suvilahti, Helsinki, Finland during July 22.-24. has announced AMON AMARTH as their Sunday 24 July headliner. The Tuska show will be the exclusive AMON AMARTH festival show in Scandinavia in summer 2011. AMON AMARTH are about to release their highly anticipated “Surtur Rising” album.

In addition to the Swedish vikings, Finnish TURISAS and OMNIUM GATHERUM have been added to the bill for next summer. The new fourth stage presenting more marginal Artists has Finnish black metal pioneer BLACK CRUCIFIXION and psychedelic black metallers ORANSSI PAZUZU added to the  line up.

We are sorry to announce that Bay Area thrash legends EXODUS have been forced to cancel their appearance at TUSKA 2011. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Tuska Festival has issued the following press release:

Tuska 2011 which takes place at the new venue of Suvilahti in Helsinki, Finland on July 22.-24. has announced more Artists. AMORPHIS, BLIND GUARDIAN, KATATONIA, EPICA, TAROT, BLACK BREATH, BULLDOZER and GHOST have been added to appear on the 2011 edition of the festival.

ROTTEN SOUND, MEDEIA, HOODED MENACE and MONONEN are the new additions to the newly introduced fourth stage program.

Tuska festival will be present at the Finnish Metal Expo this weekend at the Cable Factory in Helsinki. Come check out the Tuska expo stand and buy a special prized 3 day ticket for Tuska 2011. The edition is very limited and the special prize is 100 euro / ticket.

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival has issued the following update:

The 14th annual Tuska Festival which takes place at Suvilahti, Helsinki, Finland, has announced more artists. One of the new additions are the American psychedelic doom act JEX THOTH. The newly introduced Fourth Stage which displays more extreme and marginal sides of metal, has also first bands confirmed; black metal group CAVUS, post-hardcore act LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT, bass&drum duo CAUSE FOR EFFECT, Estonian GORESOERD and Finnish up and coming grindcore outfits GAF and FEASTEM will be showing the ropes.

Tuska-festival has won “Happening of The Year” award, an annual award given out by The Finnish Guild OF Travel Writers to facets who contribute to tourism in Finland. An excerpt from the press release: “Tuska festival has always had an international slant, attracting visitors to Finland who would never otherwise have the chance to discover us”.

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival 2011 held at the new location of Suvilahti, Helsinki, Finland during July 22.-24. has announced first Artists. Suvilahti will get to witness the performances of AT THE GATES, ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, MESHUGGAH, KILLING JOKE, ENSLAVED, KVELERTAK and loads of others.

Tuska 2011 will present more than 50 bands, which almost 20 bands more than previous years. Also a new addition will be a 4th Stage, which will provide more marginal and extreme program. More Tuska 2011 Artists will be announced early next year.

A special edition of three day tickets for Tuska 2011 is now on sale at http://www.lippupalvelu.fi and http://www.tiketti.fi for a special price of 100 euros. A ticket agency fee will be added to the ticket price. The special edition tickets will be on sale until the end of the year or until sold out.

Official ticket sales start date and ticket prices will be announced on a later date.

New Dates For Tuska 2011

Tuska-festival.fi has issued the following press release:

Tuska 2011 in Suvilahti, Helsinki, Finland during July 22.-24.

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival, the biggest metal festival in Finland, has changed its dates for the 2011 festival. The 14th annual Tuska Festival will be held at the new location of Suvilahti, Helsinki, during July 22.-24. The reason for this change of dates is that a certain international festival will most likely be organizing their Finnish festival in Helsinki on the very same weekend Tuska had announced as their 2011 festival dates.

Tuska Promoter Jouni Markkanen comments on the matter:

“We have decided to move Tuska to another weekend after learning about a competing festival possibly coming to town on the same weekend we had previously announced. We have taken all necessary measures, and program for the new weekend is shaping up quite nicely. First bands for Tuska 2011 will be annouced shortly”.

Tuska 2010 was sold out on all 3 days, gathering more than 33 000 metal fans in the center of Helsinki.
