According to Roadrunner Records, STONE SOUR have released the following announcement about their upcoming tour:
“With an impending Slipknot album on the horizon, Jim will not be touring with Stone Sour this winter. Everyone involved is okay with the decision and our mutual friend Christian Martucci will be filling in on guitar. It was a difficult decision, but as the fans have wanted another Stone Sour tour and Jim had responsibilities to the writing process with Slipknot, we feel this is the best decision where everyone wins.”
Roadrunner Records have issued that Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor joined guitarist Zakk Wylde, Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante onstage in L.A. on November 9 for Bass Player LIVE!, a tribute to Butler that featured an all-star cast of musicians performing various Sabbath songs together. Watch them perform “Fairies Wear Boots” below.
STONE SOUR‘s June 20 concert in Prague, Czech Republic was professionally filmed for use in the band’s upcoming music video for the song “Tired”. The track comes off “House of Gold & Bones – Part 1”, the first part of STONE SOUR‘s two-album series, “House of Gold & Bones”, which sold 31,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart.
The “House Of Gold & Bones” albums were recorded at Sound Farm Studios just outside of the band’s native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (TOOL, MUSE) at the helm.
STONE SOUR recently issued a music video for “Do Me A Favor”, the first official single from “House Of Gold & Bones – Part 2”. A four-issue comic book series adapted from singer Corey Taylor‘s story is being released this spring and summer.
