New Wave of British Heavy Metal Legends TANK Unleash “Filth Hounds Of Hades” – And This Time, They’re Filthier Than Ever

Through the early 1980s, as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal exploded across the globe, there was one band guaranteed to blow you out of your boots.  Well, actually there were several who could make the same claim, but none of them were Tank.

They were described by the UK press as Motörhead’s baby brothers, and with good reason.  Part punk, part metal, and wholly unique, Tank was formed by Algy Ward, formerly of The Saints and The Damned, a three piece completed by brothers Mark and Peter Brabbs, and they truly were the most thunderous thing this side of a night spent inside Lemmy’s bass cabinet.

They even recruited “Fast” Eddie Clarke as producer – Motörhead’s guitarist through their own first years of tumultuous success, Clarke was the perfect match for Tank’s high energy assault, and when the majestically titled Filth Hounds of Hades hit the stores in early 1982, UK music mag Sounds was not lying when it described the band as harbingers of “a new, frighteningly brutal breed of breakneck rock. Here is metal that takes everything to the limit… Metal for maniacs.

“All ten numbers are played tight and dirty and given a tough sympathetic production from Fast Eddie. Left-hook follows right-hook with scarcely time to draw breath in between. But Tank’s brand of rabid Lemmy-rock is loaded with enough lunacy and individual touches to allow it to stand up on its own merits.”

“Eddie did a good job,” says Mark Brabbs.  “We’d toured Europe, we’d really worked those songs, so when we got into the studio to record Filth Hounds of Hades, we knew what we were doing.

“It had the rawness and attitude that we actually had as youngsters, so it’s thanks to Eddie for… just letting it happen.”

Instantly proclaimed one of the finest debuts of the entire NWOBHM movement, Filth Hounds of Hades was an immediate hit across Europe – Brabbs remembers the band being mobbed when they played a festival in Finland.

Trailed today by a thrilling video, “Turn Your Head Around,” this edition of Filth Hounds of Hades, is the ultimate document of Tank’s first year or so, appending the original album with the band’s very first demo (also overseen by Clarke); the clutch of alternate versions and non-album gems that made it onto the band’s first two singles; and a John Peel radio session recorded shortly after the album’s release, in March 1982.

It is then topped off by what remains one of the most thrilling live recordings of the entire NWOBHM era, eight tumultuous tracks taped in Dortmund, Germany, during Tank’s maiden European tour.

The first release in a heart-stopping series of Tank reissues on their way from Cleopatra Records, Filth Hounds of Hades remains a shockingly visceral listen, unaffected by either time or technology.  It is raw, it is dynamic, and it is topped by one of the indisputable anthems of that entire era, the mighty “Blood, Guts and Beer.”

In fact, if you were there at the time, and are coming back for more, you might still be able to hear yourself singing along with it.

Filth  Hounds From Hades Deluxe Edition is released on CD and vinyl on August 14.  “Turn Your Head Around” is here now, to let you know what the album will do when it is finally released.

Any Exorcist fans out there will know precisely what that means….

Norwegian heavy metal band Triosphere unleash today the new single and official video, “Shorelines”, ahead of the release of the upcoming studio album, “Oceans Above, Stars Below”, out August 28, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl.

The band stated: “We’re proud to present the fourth and final single off our upcoming album before the whole album drops on august 28th! This track is titled “Shorelines”, and during the making of the album it had the working title “The Happy Song”. Simply because this is truly a happy, feel-good song that’s perhaps more in the style of rock and adds variation in both atmosphere and style to the album”.

“With this track we also present a third video, once again by the amazing duo in Kinorama Studio”, they added. “In the spirit of both the mood and lyrics of the song, the video shows a combo of casual performance by the band, clips from various concerts we’ve done over the years, and BTS from the making of the videos for “Of Tyrants” and “Oceans Above, Stars Below”.”

The band commented: “This has been a long, loooong haul! But we are happy and proud to say that we once again feel we’ve made a strong and killer album and thrilled to have teamed up with the great Frontiers Music for bringing this out into the world! It’s a more intense album, both in atmosphere and speed, with hooks and melodies that’s cooler than ever, and we deeply hope and believe the listeners will feel it was well worth the wait!”

“As with our previous album, we knew that we wanted legendary Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios to do the mix of the album. The studio could at that time offer brand new, stellar facilities, so we decided to also record the drums and vocals there together with the excellent engineer/producer Alexander Backlund”, they continued. “This has lifted the audio quality of our albums to a new level, and we’re just so excited to finally share it all with the rest of the world!”

Furthermore, they added: “We’re also thrilled to properly share with you the album cover artwork by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design! We were well familiar with Giannis’ quality-work when we first reached out to him, and based on our discussions around the album title and lyrics, he has created a truly intriguing eye-catcher of an artwork!”

Triosphere’s music moves in between hard rock, power prog and thrash metal, and presents uniquely honest and hard-hitting songs; from the heaviest to the calmest, from intricate to classic, all led by strong melodies and compelling guitarwork.

Triosphere released their debut album “Onwards” on FaceFront Records in 2006/2007. It received rave reviews, and the award “Best Metal Album” from the world’s largest independent music organization JPF’s at their annual JPF Awards in Nashville in 2009.

In 2010, the band signed with AFM Records, who released their sophomore album “The Road Less Travelled” (2010), and “The Heart Of The Matter” (2014). Both albums received huge critical acclaim worldwide and consequently a growing number of listeners.

Throughout the years, the band has had the privilege of touring with some of the truly great names within the rock and metal genre: their first tours in 2006 and 2007 was with W.A.S.P., and in the years to follow they have toured Europe with Arch Enemy, Sonata Artica, Kamelot, Timo Kotipelto, Jorn, Crimson Glory and Sirenia.

They’ve opened for Dio and Nightwish, and played festivals like Wacken Open Air, Progpower USA, 70 000 Tons of Metal, Tons of Rock and Metaldays, to name a few.

The bands’ solid quality both on record and stage have earned them a steadfast audience and listeners around the world, and their long-awaited new album perfectly encapsulates the essence of Triosphere, standing the test of time.

NYC’s hardcore pioneers AGNOSTIC FRONT have released the official video for “Divided”, taken from the band’s latest album Echoes in Eternity released in 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music. The music video arrives as AGNOSTIC FRONT prepare to embark on an epic summer tour across Europe. The second leg of their summer dates kicks off in Töging am Inn, Germany, on July 25th.

Vocalist Roger Miret shares the concept behind “Divided”, “‘Divided’ confronts the rise of extremist ideology and the willingness to follow false promises even when the human cost is obvious. At its core, it’s a call to recognize our shared humanity before we’re pushed so far apart that we can no longer find our way back together.”

AGNOSTIC FRONT‘s extensive tour dates see the band continue their long-established legacy across live venues and festival stages alike. Bringing authentic raw aggression and honesty, AGNOSTIC FRONT remain an important voice across punk and hardcore refusing to compromise on their sound and message.

About AGNOSTIC FRONT:

Founded in 1982, AGNOSTIC FRONT stand among the most esteemed pioneers of the hardcore genre. No band comes close in sonic and socio authenticity and sincerity, where the struggles of survival on the streets have quite literally given life to a sound that remains as impactful today as it was over four decades ago. AGNOSTIC FRONT‘s battering, socially critical sounds serve as the foundation of true New York hardcore and helped initiate the emergence of crossover thrash. Following a slew of pummeling offerings, the band, led by the inimitable roar of Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma’s legendary charismatic guitar playing, continue to showcase unapologetically honest lyrics and signature aggression in Echoes in Eternity.

TALIA HOIT Navigates Existential Turmoil in New Video Single ‘Again’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 24, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: TALIA HOIT. Leave a comment

Following the release of Talia Hoit’s emotional single “All You Want”, we now get another sneak peek into what’s to come. Her new video single “Again” (digital release: July 24, 2026) stands as one of Talia’s most ambitious visual and musical statements to date. Created in collaboration with J Angel Visuals, the video was brought to life through an intricate production process, with each environment carefully designed and built. The result is a seamless fusion of performance and storytelling, pushing creative boundaries and translating Talia’s original vision into something vivid and otherworldly, where an apocalyptic wasteland filled with existential threats reflects the inner state of the persona that Talia takes on.

The song itself carries a deeply personal origin that went through the poetic filter Talia is known for: Her keen eye for the underlying mechanics behind our daily interactions always helps her find a way to expose just how they never seize to shape us, how they make us human.
In this fashion, “Again” explores the lingering impact of painful experiences and the realization that innocence, once lost, cannot be regained. The lyrics hint at both personal and broader societal interpretations. The single actively invites listeners to connect their own experiences to the music. Especially now where people might feel more lost than ever, it serves as a soft reminder that you are not alone with your feelings and experiences.

“I tend to try to find the more universal experience in things and how to make sense of feelings and experiences with metaphors and poetry,” Talia explains. “Which also makes it possible for listeners to resonate with their own life and their own story and to make sense of their own feelings and experiences and find personal meaning in the music without me.”

“Again” also serves as a defining piece of Talia’s upcoming album, “When The Skies Fall”. The album’s title is drawn directly from the single’s lyrics, underscoring its central role in shaping the record’s emotional and conceptual direction. As a whole, the album reflects a journey through upheaval, transformation, and self-discovery, making “Again” both a cornerstone and a powerful introduction to the world Talia Hoit is about to unveil.

“When The Skies Fall” Tracklist

1. Unwanted
2. Tremble Within
3. Beyond Words
4. Again
5. Prayer for Rain
6. Orion
7. All You Want
8. Refuge
9. Torn

On August 28, 2026, Talia Hoit reveals “When The Skies Fall”, her second full-length solo album and her most emotionally exposed work yet. At its core lies a quiet but profound truth: that beauty is often inseparable from pain, and that every loss carries the echo of something once deeply cherished. The new album weaves together themes of transformation, longing, and existential unrest, capturing the weight of human connection and the moments that reshape us.

Set within a rich symphonic metal soundscape, “When The Skies Fall” invites listeners into a world where certainty dissolves and the familiar begins to break apart. Questions of identity, love, and meaning are confronted head-on, pulled apart, and slowly rebuilt. More than just an album, it becomes a journey through upheaval and growth. It explores what it means to endure, to change, and to find clarity in the aftermath of collapse.

About Talia Hoit

Talia Hoit, a Colorado native, began her journey in music with classical piano lessons at just five years old – an early foundation that continues to shape her artistry today. She has since evolved into a multifaceted musician, writing her own material, performing as both a singer and keyboardist, and crafting orchestral arrangements within the symphonic metal genre.
Over the years, Talia has built a diverse musical résumé. She spent five years as a keyboardist and songwriter for the band AnaDies and has taken on multiple creative roles as the lead vocalist, orchestrator, and co-writer for the symphonic metal band BEYOND FORGIVENESS, while also contributing as a keyboardist for OB NIXILIS.
Talia began with two independently produced home studio albums: “Fate’s Too Small” (2007) and “A Little Longer” (2012). Even if they were recorded just for personal purposes and not publicly available, these laid the groundwork for her first official release that changed the trajectory of her career. In 2019, she recorded the single “Angel” with producer Jarek Musil, which marked the start of her official solo career. The single has since been remastered and marked a turning point, motivating her to put an even stronger focus on her solo work and to professionally produce and release a larger body of her original songs. This led to the release of two additional singles in 2023: “Abandon” and “Whispers in the Storm.” In 2024, she released her first full-length solo album “Oceans”.

Talia’s music reflects her deep-rooted classical background as well as her years of experience in the industry, resulting in polished, expressive compositions. Her sound resonates strongly with fans of symphonic metal and heavier genres, drawing inspiration from bands like Within Temptation, Nightwish, Evanescence, and Visions of Atlantis.

Scream Rock Fest 2026 – Interview with Ligurian Legendary Hard Rockers HOLLYWOOD HEARTBREAKERS

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 24, 2026

Interview & photos by Steve Foglia

Two-day Scream Rock Fest 2026 took Italy’s City of Flowers, Sanremo by Storm at the end of May, with pure energy dedicated to the best independent and historic bands from the Ligurian and national music scene.

The event’s organizer Steve Foglia conducted an interview with Ligurian legendary hard rockers HOLLYWOOD HEARTBREAKERS (formed in 1989), join the chat below.

  1. Guys, welcome to Metal Shock Finland! Let’s take a brutal leap back in time: it’s 1989, Daniele is only 15, and you decide to form a hard rock band in Taggia called the Hollywood Heartbreakers. How crazy was it, back then, to try and bring the wild spirit of the Sunset Strip into the narrow alleys (caruggi) of Liguria? What was the vibe like?

Well, this great question already contains the answer within itself. It’s hard to explain the atmosphere of those days to people today, now that we have all the information possible thanks to the internet and so on. Of course, we have to remember that in those years, this kind of hard rock music was absolutely mainstream almost worldwide. It was heavily present in the charts, on the radio, and on TV—it was definitely living its golden years. Despite that, it was almost crazy to think about recreating those sounds… from the Sunset Strip, let’s say, to make it clear… in a reality as completely distant and different as ours.

  1. In October of ’89, you entered Imperia’s legendary—and now ghost—”Room Ore Studio” for the first time to record two tracks: “I want to hold you now” and “Another reason to live”. That demo never saw the light of day because you weren’t satisfied with the production. Looking back, were you too perfectionist or was the studio just not ready for your sonic impact?

The very first unreleased demo from autumn 1989, recorded at the legendary “Room Ore” studio in Imperia, wasn’t satisfying at all. This was mainly due to two reasons: our total lack of studio experience (evaluating sounds, arrangements, etc.) and a production that was inadequate for the genre. The result lacked impact, and the sound production wasn’t effective.

  1. You didn’t lose heart, and just two months later, in December, you were already in a Sanremo studio for If you need some fun. That’s where the first real rock band dramas started: your original drummer left halfway through the session, and Simone Giudici had to step in to save two tracks. How hellish and troubled were those recording sessions?

Exactly, we didn’t lose heart, and in December we changed studios and our approach to recording. The producer was definitely a better fit for us. Considering the standards of the time, the technical result was decent. Surely, even that wasn’t truly satisfying for me, and I believe not for the others either—it didn’t sound the way I wanted it to. The guitar production, for instance, could have been much better. But that was the best we could do back then. Regarding the drummer, yes, there were various stylistic differences with our original drummer, so our friend Simone Giudici—a great musician—completed the recordings. He was a huge help; I still thank him today and say hello to him.

  1. Despite the line-up chaos, that demo came out in early 1991 and literally blew up in the underground circuit. Several hundred copies were sold (which, back then, without the internet, was a crazy number!) and it got great reviews in fanzines. What memories do you have of the support from the “fanzine culture” of those years? Did you feel, even for a moment, like the kings of the local scene?

The If you need some fun demo came out in 1991. It enjoyed good local success with several hundred copies sold, many of them through mail-order. It was played on various radio stations during their rock music shows. I remember local stations in Milan, Genoa, Sanremo, Turin, and many other smaller Italian cities. It received good reviews in many fanzines of the time. Those were deeply different times compared to today; word of mouth was essential. In 1991, I went to California on vacation and took several copies of the demo with me. I gave quite a few to venue owners who organized rock concerts and to DJs who hosted rock shows on local radio stations. Honestly, I don’t know if they ever played anything from that demo—frankly, I’d guess not.

  1. Strange Kind of Love, I want to hold you now, Downtown queen, and Down in the city. Four titles that ooze urban attitude and street stories. Where did your lyrics come from, and how did you manage to write such direct and genuine songs while being so young?

First of all, thank you very much for the appreciation. How did we do it? I wouldn’t know, I don’t remember. It came naturally to us, maybe because we were totally immersed in music in those years—it was our reason for living. We were determined kids with a huge dream, an impossible dream I’d say… but it was fun trying. The lyrics came from what we had around us, from what struck us, from what we lived through… from some experiences we had and some events that happened at the time. That being said, I’d say nothing major, nothing special really.

  1. Then, in 1992, the curtain suddenly fell. The band officially called it quits right as Grunge was wiping out Hard Rock globally. Was it the changing times that killed the engine, or were there other personal reasons behind that crossroads?

Yes, it’s exactly as you say. A series of circumstances, including the ones you mentioned, made us realize it was over. I’ll add that our musical tastes also changed a bit (though not in the direction of the rising Grunge scene, in my case).

  1. Let’s leap forward 33 years. It’s 2025. The world has changed, but the spark is still alive. Daniele, Massimo, Luca, and Alex look each other in the eye and decide to reunite. What was the exact spark, the “fuck it, we have to do this again” moment that drove you to put the Hollywood Heartbreakers back together?

Well, saying the spark is still alive after 35 years is maybe a bit much… let’s just say it’s probably the desire to close the loop. To finally put a period at the end of this story, which is a part of our lives and was once truly very important to us.

  1. Your stated goal for this reunion is a single, huge one: to finally record a full-length album with all the songs written and played between 1989 and 1991. How does it feel to rework songs written more than thirty years ago? Are you keeping the raw approach of the era, or is there a different maturity in the control room?

Yes, this reunion has that as its sole objective: to record the full album, something we weren’t able to do back then. Reworking songs from 36 or 37 years ago is certainly strange—a plunge into the distant past. All the songs that will make up the album (currently being recorded) were written between 1989 (the vast majority of them) and 1990. Obviously, today there is a lot of maturity and, above all, a lot more experience (I’m thinking of my brother Daniele, Luca, and the newcomer Roby Sleazy). But by our own choice, the tracks will have to be practically identical to how they were back then. If it weren’t like that, it wouldn’t make sense for me to do all this. This album absolutely has to be a snapshot of those years, of what we were. After that, we close the book.
