Frontiers Rock Festival 2015: CIRCUS MAXIMUS Forced To Cancel, BURNING RAIN Added To Line-Up

Frontiers Rock Festival II,  set to be held on April 11-12 in Milan – Italy, has announced as follows:

Frontiers Music Srl regret to inform the Norwegian Prog Metallers CIRCUS MAXIMUS will be unable to perform at the forthcoming FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL II, which will be held at the Live Club in Trezzo (Milano), Italy on April 11th and 12th 2015.

Frontiers is anyway pleased to announce that California Hard Rockers BURNING RAIN will perform instead at the Festival and have their show on April 11th.

BURNING RAIN is the band formed by former DIO/WHITESNAKE guitarist Doug Aldrich, together with singer Keith St. John (MONTROSE). The band has released the self-titled debut in 1999, “Pleasure To Burn” in 2000 and the latest “Epic Obsession” on Frontiers Music Srl. Their sound recalls the big Hard-Rock of the 80’s, powered by big hooks, a blistering guitar-work (that has become a signature of Aldrich) and that typical “Bluesy” groove. The boys have learnt a trick or two from the various bands that they have been involved with, and their real home is the stage, as you can experience by yourself catching them live at the FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL II. This will be the real first time for Burning Rain in Italy, so be there and enjoy your well deserved dose of Classic Hard Rock!

After the storming success of the first edition of the Frontiers Rock Festival (held last May 1, 2 and 3 2014), the second edition will be held on April 11 / 12 2015, once again in the magnificent boutique-venue of the Live Music Club in Trezzo Sull’Adda (Milano). It is going to be 2 days where the cream of the crop of the Hard e Melodic Rock artists and fans from all over the World will gather!

Chatting about new releases and touring, Lasse Finbråten said: “We had some problems with booking, we don’t like doing it ourselves… We just want to write music and that’s what we do. There will probably be a new album in 2014… We can’t have such a gap between albums like last time (five years).”

Talking about the band’s name, Lasse stated: “It comes from Nintendo… From a game Truls and Mats (Founding members) played in their childhood, “The Reaper”… Talking about today’s Rock and Metal scene: “In the past there has been lack of melodies, but it changed during the years… Now there are many bands with great melodies.”

CIRCUS MAXIMUS: New Album Details Revealed

Frontiers Records has set a June 5 North American release date four days earlier in Europe) for “Nine”, the third album from Norwegian progressive metallers CIRCUS MAXIMUS.

Five years after the release of the concept album “Isolate”, CIRCUS MAXIMUS is back with what is described in a press release as “a strong and mature CD.”

“A lot happened in our personal lives during the past few years,” explains drummer Truls Haugen. “Three of us had kids, plus we also had a several bumps in the road with the production. So it has not exactly been a joyride, but it feels great to finally be done, and after all this time we are ready to unleash our new monster!”

CIRCUS MAXIMUS worked hard to further refine its sound. The band’s musical formula is not easy to accomplish — take jaw-dropping musicianship, add a singer like Michael Eriksen with a voice from heaven and toss it together with hooks, anthemic melodies and enough groove and heavy riffing that really gets into your head.

For this new record, CIRCUS MAXIMUS presents the best of both worlds — offering their most melodic and at the same time heaviest moments of their repertoire, with class and maturity which is really from another world.

“The majority of the material on the new record was written by Mats Haugen and he has taken the music to a kind of simpler and more accessible approach, yet kept the progressive elements and the ‘nerve’ that is CIRCUS MAXIMUS,” says Truls. “We’re actually more melodic and heavier on this new record than we’ve ever been.”
