Graspop Metal Meeting 2014 has confirmed many new bands to the line-up, which is now complete. Read below:

The addition of this last batch of 14 bands completes the lineup for this year’s edition of Graspop Metal Meeting. Over the weekend, no fewer than 108 bands will perform on one of five stages. Add the usual tons of side animation and you’ve got all the ingredients for a promising metalfest! Let the countdown begin!

Graspop Metal Meeting has announced, via the Official Webpage, a Special Belgian Programme For Thursday 26th June. Read more details below:

The second main stage will undoubtedly add an extra dimension to Graspop Metal Meeting 2014 but the icing on the cake is the unique Belgian programme reserved for combi ticket holders on Thursday 26 June. Together with our partners Jupiler and Red Bull we are unleashing the best our country has to offer on the GMM stage… and on a big screen!

Staunch allies
The partnership between Graspop Metal Meeting and Jupiler dates back many years and the Belgian beer brand’s Joe Piler Saloon has been a festival fixture for a long time, providing our visitors with top entertainment. This year, Jupiler decided to spoil the fans with a new stage in the Metal Plaza: the JUPILER STAGE! On Thursday 26 June and to inaugurate the new open air stage, Jupiler is treating all our visitors to a unique Belgian festival night with DIABLO BLVD, EVIL INVADERS, OSTROGOTH and DYSCORDIA as well as a live screening in the Marquee of the world cup fixture between our Red Devils and the Republic of South Korea!

The Metal Dome gives you wings
There’s even more metal fun to be had in the METAL DOME where the three winners of the Red Bull Bedroom Jam traditionally get to showcase their talent in front of the GMM crowd. The three winners are chosen during the Bedroom Jam finals night on Sunday 11th May in Trix, Antwerp. For more info on the Red Bull Bedroom Jam go to http://www.redbullbedroomjam.be/

And if you’ve got some fuel left in your tank after the Red Bull Bedroom Jam you can bang your head and scream your lungs out to our Best of the Best Top 100. Vote for your all-time favourite band on http://www.graspop.be/en/top100. The vote closes on Monday 21 April.

If you’re just getting warmed up that first evening then the CLASSIC ROCK CAFE is the place to be. Just have a seat at the bar and enjoy a few cold beers, non-stop classic hits and videos. Or you can have a ball at the BUMP & FLY with its bumper cars, airplanes and even a classic caterpillar!

So you see there’s a lot of fun to be had on the festival grounds on Thursday. You do need a combi ticket, though, because only combi ticket holders have access to the festival grounds and the campsite on the day. No separate day tickets are available for Thursday 26 June.

Graspop Metal Meeting Crew has announced some changes in the Festival area, read more details below:

We have erected a second main stage so the Graspop skyline will look slightly different this year. Standing shoulder to shoulder, Main Stages 1 & 2 will create a 100m-long frontline of metal mayhem! As a result, Marquee 2 has been decommissioned after 15 years of faithful service and Marquee 1 will now simply be known as the Marquee. Another novelty this year is the large covered area in the main festival arena with a WiFi hotspot.

Two main stages also means an additional headliner per day! Friday’s headliners are Avenged Sevenfold and Sabaton. On Saturday 28th June, Volbeat will round off proceedings on Main Stage 1. The headliner for Main Stage 2 will be announced shortly. Black Sabbath and Megadeth will close the festival this year.

The Metal Dome is traditionally the place to be in the Metal Plaza if you want to let your hair down and sample some of our brewers’ finest products. By day you can check out some of the festival’s smaller acts but at the stroke of midnight, the Metal Dome is transformed into a metal temple where the music doesn’t stop until the wee hours of the morning. The RedBull Bedroom Jam and the Top 100 Countdown take place on the eve of the actual festival, on Thursday 26th June. Go HERE  for more details on both events.

As of this year, a new open air stage in the Metal Plaza will showcase fresh talent and we’ve also erected a rock dive called the GMM Classic Rock Café, where you can have a cold one or two while listening to non-stop classic hits and video clips.

Tickets for Graspop Metal Meeting 2014 are on sale as from today! Tickets are only available online from proximusgoformusic.be.

Prices include the service fee. The booking fee is €1.10, regardless of the number of tickets ordered. Payments via Bancontact/Mister Cash, iDeal and bank transfer are free of charge. Costs associated with credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard and American Express) are at the customer’s expense.

FESTIVAL TICKETS
Festival tickets COMBI (June 27, 28, 29): 165 euros
Festival tickets DAY (June 27, 28 or 29): 85 euros
VIP tickets COMBI (June 27, 28, 29): 270 euros

The price of your ticket includes admission to the festival, on-site camping, parking and free use of the shuttle buses ‘Station <-> Festival’ and ‘Festival <-> Metal Town <-> K+R centrum Dessel’.

Important remark: As of this year, tickets NO LONGER include a round trip train ticket. This means you will have to buy your own train ticket (from the ticket office or online at www.sncb.be). Tip: buy your return ticket in advance and avoid long queues at the ticket office.
