MARTYRDÖD Release New Single And Lyric Video For “Pharmacepticon”

Soon to release their seventh studio album “Hexhammaren” on May 10th, 2019 via Century Media Records, Swedish metal crust punks MARTYRDÖD are releasing their newest single “Pharmacepticon” via a lyric video here:

And MARTYRDÖD checked in with the following comment: “We’re pleased to finally show off this other mid tempo side of Martyrdöd with a single!”

Notice: Just as with a few other songs on the album, the lyrics for “Pharmacepticon” are in MARTYRDÖD’s native Swedish language, but a special translation of the words to English can be found in the info-box of the YouTube clip!

The recording of “Hexhammaren” was once more done by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman (Wolfpack, At The Gates, In Flames) in Gothenburg, Sweden. The album will be available as limited CD in O-Card packaging with a Dischange cover version (“After-War Scars”) as bonus track in its first pressing or alternatively as 180gr. LP with A2 poster. Century Media Records are handling the release of “Hexhammaren” for the world outside of North America, where Southern Lord Recordings are looking after the album.

Always wondered what “Helveteslarm” stands for? It’s the sounds of pure hellish noise, which is visualized now via the new single/video by Swedish metal crust punks MARTYRDÖD.

Soon to release their seventh studio album “Hexhammaren” on May 10th, 2019 via Century Media Records, MARTYRDÖD are now bringing us “Helveteslarm” in a clip produced by Jimmy Johansson / Super Lino Puro, which can be seen here:

MARTYRDÖD checked in with the following comment: “Helveteslarm: It’s the sound of hell on earth. The sound of evil forces ravaging the world for power. War dogs, warmongers using liberation as a pretext for profiteering. The video was planned and shot over a couple of days only a few weeks before release. The Idea was to portray some of the real driving forces behind armed conflict in the world and their ruthlessness.“

MARTYRDÖD Announce New Member, First Info On New Album Revealed

Swedish MARTYRDÖD have announced a new member: “New lineup! Pontus has come to the conclusion that he no longer can give Martyrdöd the time and dedication needed and has therefore decided to leave the band.

We’ve had a fantastic time together throughout the years and it’s with great sadness but of course no hard feelings we part ways. Tim will fill the spot and take on guitar duties leaving the bass for our new member. Please everybody, welcome Daniel Ekeroth!! For further info and background on Daniel just enter his name in any search engine” 

MARTYRDÖD will enter Studio Fredman in late January to start the recording of the successor of “List”. The release of the yet untitled new album is roughly set for May/June 2019.

Swedish metal crust punks MARTYRDÖD have signed a three-album deal with Century Media Records for the world excluding North-America.

Philipp Schulte (Century Media Records Europe) comments on the signing:
“The crust genre appears to me as one of the most vital extreme music genres right now, having brought up a lot of promising new bands, with MARTYRDÖD being among the spearheading acts of the scene. I got in touch with MARTYRDÖD’s guitarist Pontus some months ago, talking about his death metal band Miasmal, who are also signed to Century Media Records. When asking him whether MARTYRDÖD would be interested in a cooperation with us, he checked with the others and came back with a positive reply. So here we are now. We are very happy about the band’s trust in Century Media, and we are very much looking forward working with them on their upcoming studio albums!”

MARTYRDÖD, founded in Stockholm in 2001, have gained a strong following in the crust, punk and metal scenes worldwide with the release of six studio albums. Especially the band’s latest studio albums, “Elddop” (2014) and “List” (2016), have stirred up the extreme music scene massively, showing a new side of MARTYRDÖD by entwining more wicked melodies into the metal-induced crust songs. Influenced by acts like Wolfpack, At The Gates, Anti Cimex, Totalitär and Bathory, MARTYRDÖD is not your typical crust band, covering a far wider range of styles without ever losing focus on their roots.

The band comments on deal with Century Media Records:
“Coming to an end of our previous recording contract we were open for offers. Several labels showed interest, but Century Media and Philipp had the most supportive proposal. We’re very pleased to join their roster and will work hard to produce more Martyrdöd music. Together we’re hopefully able to reach further touching even more cursed souls with our tunes.”

MARTYRDÖD are currently in the process of writing new material for the successor of “List”, which is roughly scheduled for a release in the second half of 2018. More news to follow in the upcoming months.

Last bands for 19th volume of Brutal Assault festivals are here. Heading by Dutch cult apocalyptic black metal band DODECAHEDRON, French avantgard metallers CARNIVAL IN COAL, Russian thrash/HC band SIBERIAN MEAT GRINDER and INFERNAL TENEBRA from Croatia.
