Californian groove metallers DEVILDRIVER are returning to Europe in spring 2014 for a headline tour that will bring the band to major cities on the old continent. Along for the ride are support bands SYLOSIS and BLEED FROM WITHIN. The tour will kick off on March 27th in Cologne.
This tour will be the only chance to catch Devildriver on stage in Europe in 2014. If you want to experience the power of Devildriver live in concert, you must not miss this tour. Please see below for the complete list of dates.
Devildriver’s sixth studio album Winter Kills was released in late August 2013 via Napalm Records. The album debuted at #32 on the US Billboard 200 chart and entered numerous charts in Europe (#24 in Ger many, #26 in Austria, etc.).

According to Bravewords.com, DEVILDRIVER will release their new album, Winter Kills, worldwide on August 27th via Napalm Records. In Japan, Winter Kills will be issued on August 28th via Metal Blade Japan / Howling Bull Entertainment. The album’s title track can be streamed below.
The band recorded Winter Kills in Florida at Audio Hammer Studios, and vocals in Los Angeles, CA at frontman Dez Fafara’s home studio with Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, ALL THAT REMAINS) handling production duties. Devildriver has worked with Lewis previously on Beast and The Last Kind Words.

Vocalist Dez Fafara of Californian metallers DEVILDRIVER was recently interviewed on “Distortion” radio show, which is hosted by Dave “Higgo” Higgins of Australia’s long-running rock station Triple M. You can listen to the chat using the SoundCloud widget below.
DEVILDRIVER‘s sixth album, “Winter Kills”, will be released on August 27 via Napalm Records. The instrumental parts for the CD were recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida while the vocals were laid down at Dez Fafara‘s home studio, with Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, ALL THAT REMAINS) handling production duties. The album’s cover artwork features a photograph by Dean Karr. The layout was done by Ryan Clark of Invisible Creature.
“Winter Kills” will be made available in four configurations, including a deluxe digibook with CD (including two bonus tracks, “Shudder” and “Back Down To The Grave”) and live DVD (featuring 45 minutes of live raw DEVILDRIVER power — no studio overdubs at all, just the band at their best — and including fan favorites “Clouds Over California” and “The Wretched”), standard CD version, digital version and, for the first time in DEVILDRIVER history, a 2LP gatefold edition.

In an interview with Loudwire, Fafara stated about the musical direction of the band’s next CD, “Every record is different. That being said, I thought ‘Pray For Villains’ was kind of an out-of-the-box record for us. I thought ‘Beast’ was a weird out-of-the-box record for us. We’ve kind honed back in to where we are. This new record sounds a lot like the first three records. It’s got an intense groove to it, and I’m really happy. The writing is going extremely well. That being said, I think we’ve laid back on our laurels right now and be like, ‘We’re a groove band.’ The fans started calling us ‘the groove machine, The California groove machine.’ Everybody needs a title; we’ll take that one and we’re going to give them that on the new record, for sure.”
DEVILDRIVER‘s fifth album, “Beast”, sold a little over 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 42 on The Billboard 200 chart.
