According to Bravewords.com, Next year’s Wacken Open Air festival will take place in Wacken, Germany from July 31st – August 2nd, 2014. At the Hamburg Metal Dayz the promoters of Wacken Open Air announced new bands for the 25th edition of the festival. A total of 13 bands were confirmed for the big anniversary in 2014.

The latest acts confirmed are HEAVEN SHALL BURN, J.B.O., DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, SODOM, ONKEL TOM, DECAPITATED, FOR THE IMPERIUM, THE OCEAN, ENDSTILLE, TORMENT, MASTERPLAN, KNORKATOR and A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH, who join the previously announced acts AMON AMARTH, APOCALYPTICA, ARCH ENEMY, AVANTASIA, BEHEMOTH, CHILDREN OF BODOM, EMPEROR, ICED EARTH, KING DIAMOND, KREATOR, PRONG, and SCHANDMAUL.

TUSKA OPEN AIR METAL Festival has issued the following:

Finland’s biggest metal festival, the fifteenth edition of the annual Tuska Open Metal Festival has announced more Artists.

Thrash metal fans are in for a treat on Friday June 29th, as legendary Bay Area Thrashers EXODUS and re-united Finnish thrash trailblazers A.R.G. have been added to the bill. Also appearing on Tuska Friday will be Norwegian Avantgarde-metal act ARCTURUS.

British grindcore pioneers NAPALM DEATH have been added to the line up for Saturday June 30th.

General confusion will be added by urban grinders RAMIN KUNTOPOLKU.

Helsinki Metal Meeting / Finnish Metal Expo taking place at the Cable Factory in Helsinki, Finland during February 17-18. has completed the 2012 roster.

Last pieces of the puzzle are all Finnish new comers: death ‘n’ roll group GHOUL PATROL, ODDLAND who are about to release their debut album via Century Media, and metalcore outfit ARTIFICIAL who were recently signed to Spinefarm Records.

FOR THE IMPERIUM’s Debut To Receive Wider European Release Via LIFEFORCE

The self-titled debut album from the Finnish band FOR THE IMPERIUM will receive a wider European release on April 9 via Lifeforce Records. The CD was originally made available in Finland in August 2011 via Warner Music.

On FOR THE IMPERIUM‘s eponymous debut CD, “your ears will come across everything from extreme metal to cinematic music to emotional post-rock to the catchiest pop in recent memory,” according to the band’s official bio. “Often rolled into the same song. Yet all this chaos makes a strange kind of sense, much thanks to the band’s unprecedented level of musical vision. There aren’t too many similarities between songs, or even between parts of the same song for that matter, except for the band’s mind-boggling musical chops and virtuosic arrangements like of which you’ve probably never heard before. You’ll surprise yourself by humming along to something you first thought didn’t make any sense. But this is the catchiest chaos ever. Musical mayhem in overdrive.”

Helsinki Metal Meeting in February 2011 – Program Ready

Helsinki Metal Meeting taking place during Feb 17.-19. has completed the line up for the main event at the Cable Factory. Norwegian up-and-comers KVELERTAK and Sweden’s GHOST have been added to the bill. Both of these new additions will be performing on Saturday 19.2.

Voting period ends on 31.12.2010 and 4 bands that receive the most votes will be performing at the SUOMI METAL STAR –finals at the Finnish Metal Expo on Saturday 19.2.2011.
